  1. If this is the car I think it is, it was sold by a collector in Edinburgh roughly 2/3 years ago, cosmetically it is perfect. I think it has been advertised before using the original sellers pictures which is why I think its the same car
  2. Lucky for you - great result. Once the battery is done it would be worth spending to get all the faults rectified I think the selling dealer got away with selling a car with alot of faults
  3. just my oberservation: the stamps and sriting look the same as if they have been done at the same time Here is the original thread mentioned above: gs450h for sale - Lexus GS 300 / Lexus GS 250 / Lexus GS 430 / Lexus 450h / Lexus GS 460 Club - Lexus Owners Club
  4. I though the original was a bright metallic silver - a company near us used to (closed down now) refurbish alloys for a Lexus dealer and they called it Stirling Silver
  5. Looking at these struts they look simple enough to be made up - but the you would need a working pair to working out the force requried. I wonder why they are two differnt sizes?
  6. One of the main factors is insurance group - Lexus are quite high up - could be because of parts prices
  7. The amplifier in the LS430 is part of the Mark Levinson sound system - I dont really know much of Non ML systems. I'm sure someone more knowledgable will be along soon
  8. if the location of the LS430 amplifier is anything to go by then it would be found inside the side of the boot (c pillar)
  9. Offer it for sale on here or put it on facebook market place, ebay or gumtree??
  10. If your interior is grey or black then they are easy to clean - even with just a hoover and wipe down with a damp cloth they come up great. Cream on the other hand is harder to keep clean and (to clean)
  11. I would say leave alone We all know low mileage older lexus cars are rare and what do normally delaers do when one comes along - they exort as much money out of you as possible - we've seen it so many times with LS400s. Why has the dealer not had this checked out a rectified? my gut feeling is its the hybrid battery which has suffered due to the low mileage.
  12. Looks like it can definaley be done Here are some pointers here: The Official 01-03 To 04-06 Conversion Facelift And Rear Pics Inside - 90 - 00 Lexus LS400 - Lexus Owners Club of North America
  13. I think you wil find more info on this on the USA forums as they modify their cars alot. Have you considered upgrading to a facelift model? - you will also get the sleeker looking headlights
  14. Hi Never heard of this problem - does this happens also on the passenger side? - I would be inclined to investigate the switch
  15. Welcome aboard - and congratulations Would love to see some pictures of your new car . . .
  16. Best thing to do is do a code read - this will tell you exactly what the problem is Other things to look out for it when viewing the car include: 1) Check for rust on underside of the bonnet edge 2) Check for leaking back exhaust back boxes - these often deteriorate and fall off! 3) Check fo rleaking shock absorbers - the only like for like replacement is a main dealer part 4) Check for dash creaking when driving 5) At high mileages there has been cases of failed hybrid oil pump bearings - this is a cheap fix if you follow tutorials on this site otherwise lecuse will happily sell you another pump. 6)Seized brake calipers hope this helps
  17. HI This is a common problem - do a search for lexus ls430 parking sensors on ebay - there a plenty of choices and then find a good bodyshop who can remove the bumper and replace them - this will be a walk in the park for a body shop - once the bumper is off you turn the sensors 90 degrees and it comes out. Since the sensors are so cheap I would replace all of them wholst the bumper is off. hope this helps
  18. HI this is a known fault - if the seal is in good condition then just remove the seal - clean and dry boot edge and then refit the seal. Resealing with silicone is recommended. Or you could buy a new seal - there are some on ebay - and just replace it hope this helps
  19. I wouldnt have the skills, knowledge and most importantly the courage to do this high level work expecially on an invertor where voltages can be dangerously high. So I take my hat of to you sir! - I hope the repair is succesfull and others can benefit from your advice.
  20. The newest Lexus I have ever driven is my current 55 plate LS430 - I am getting an inkling where I want to upgrade to something newer, saying that I also want a few more (additiomal) tech option such as dab radio, HUD and heated steering. Taking my budget into consideration the NX300H seems to almost tick all the boxes - but I do wonder how smooth and quite they are. I have also somtimes considered just stayng with the LS line up and go for an LS600h . . . . . .
