  1. Im on my second LS430 in 9 years and there is on niggle which both cars suffered from and I have never been abe to get to the bottom of it - it concernes the steering wheel! When driving over bad road surface the steering tends to wonder all over the place - the imperfections in the road surface are feeding directly back to the steering! Also the car seems to follow the road camber so in effect with both symptoms put together I tend to find myself putting that extra effort to keep in the car straight especially when hitting a bad road spot. Is this normal for you guys out there? In comparison when I drive my brothers BMW 520d which has done 130k the steering is lighter, smoother and has zero feedback and coupled with the brakes which have a better bite I find myself driving with more confidence withut having to worry about the car crashing on corners and potholes. Also my current dunlops on the front are wearing more on the outer edge - is this an alignment issue? so lets have some feedback please . . . . is someone else in the same boat?? (non intended pun lol)
  2. The ls430 uses a very similar clip to keep the outer door seals in place - I found these to be non removeable - you break them if you force them - I bought some not long ago when i done my door seals - if you want I can measure the head? There are listed here on LPD: Lexus LS Phase 3 Front Side Window Seal Forward Fixation Clip | 90467-08219 | Lexus Parts Direct I found this picture by googling the part number:
  3. Hi Eli Yes I have read that some scanners do trigger off the VSC light which can only be turned off by the paperclip method.
  4. I don't know how relavent this is as I done them on my 430. The 430 has 2 seals, one which sits on the doors edge and seals from the outside and the inner one. The outer ones have a very thin fragile lip which had started to fray on mine - to remove its simply remove one plastic gromet and then pull off - replacement is reverse. You just need a bit of patience and methodical approach.
  5. so you want be the one with (perhaps) lowest mileage, best condition celsior (and only one) with a wood steering wheel?
  6. Imagine if that pulled off the top half of the sticker and left white residue 😰 I don't think its covering film - I think the sticker has just shrunk due to heat
  7. Nobody going to ask how he keeps his lawn and hedges so green and lush? 😀 lovely car - enjoy!
  8. The only LS I have seen with suspension problems (relating to the struts) are pre-facelift LS430s. The facelift 430 is pretty robust (bar failed ride height sensors due to water ingress) I certainly have'nt heard of suspension problem with the 460 or any age 600.
  9. Hi Sandro The 2011 models with the upgraded grill, lights, mirrors and cluster are very rare - it is just a case of checking the usual websites in addition to this website. You recently missed a members FSH LS600.
  10. I wonder if the internet is also going to kill the main dealers - now that car on finance is on the rise and companies like cazoo are offering short term rentals? - maybe all that wil remain is service centres
  11. I'm in the same boat - I have a 4/5k ls430 which has every feature you could want, the best quality materials, quality and reliability. The only think I would want to add is DAB and HUD. I really want to try the GS for its linear acceleration
  12. Personally I have never heard of "form to change my rating" As you say you have had a refund then no need to get involved any further.
  13. I wonder why the key in the door is not working? It works in my 430
  14. I've had to google the term mentioned above. Ive had this guy coming around for years and sometimes we buy an item, others we don't He always has a sad story to tell about his life I'll be more cautious next time
  15. In this instance I would look for an experienced bodyshop, an outlet with good reviews or perhaps someone who is recommended by word of mouth. You could even ring the Lexus dealer and ask if the can recommend a body shop. Not all chipsaway franchises are good - it all depends on the skill of the person working on your car, A family member used chips away a couple of years ago and had to baby sit the guy (took him 3 atempts to get it right) and now the laquar is starting to peel off.
  16. Nobody has thought about these electric scooters which are ever so popular and a danger to everybody. There is no age restriction or qualification required for the rider, I see you boys whizzing around on them on the road without any safety gear for themselves or any concern for drivers/cars.
  17. I think its a game of patience especially in todays climate. I also think people are not ging to press the buy it now for a car unless they have viewed it. My car took 3 months to sell but my patience was rewarded that I only lowered the price by £50 - but I did recieve lots of messages from chancers. I specifically ignored "best price" messages and offers without viewings. Your car looks very very good and does stick out from the rest - I think it might be slightly under - priced! Good luck with the sale.
  18. I would fit any battery aslong as it has 4 years warranty In my case I bought an Exide one from carpartsforless which came with yours warranty. Sorry I dont have the exact specs to quote
  19. Fater all that I would of liked to se some pictures 😍
  20. I personally prefer leather seats - maybe because I have been driving LS for 15 years now
  21. I agree with Herbs - its small outlay for piece of mind.
  22. If the seat and steering position is coded to the key - could i possibly be the keyfob battery playing up? OR Could it be interference causing the key to malfunction - i.e its not communicating with the car fully hence the issue you say. I have had keyless problems in our morrissons car park 2/3 times which is normally otherwise perfect
