    Thanks for all the replies guys - These Lexus cars are terrible cars - once driven - anything else is ust not good enough! I will have to drive one and see how it feels - the smooth, quite linear acceleration is really nice and I do around 3k miles a year mainly in town so will be ideal IF it will pass the noise and comfort test lol. I will be probably be looking at a tekna model 2017 and above.

    I recently had the chance to drive a 21 plate hyundai Iconiq - The drive was great when its on electric - but driving 30mph+ and the engine/road noise is very intrusive. But I really like the (somewhat brief) acceleration which led me to ask the question here - whats the leaf like to drive on local runs and how intrusive is road noise. Thank You

    Glad this was not a fault and got sorted. Whilst we are on the seat coolers subject, my son turned his side on in our LS430 - they were on for a few days and I could'nt figure out where the hissing sound was coming from untill finally I spotted that they have been switched on - trouble is these cars are so quite, every minute sound become a nuisance. Lately I have been thinking more and more of replacing the front brake pads on mine because they make a groaning sound when coming to a stop.

    Interesting comments about the smoothess between the 600 and 430. My 430 is just shy of 160k but still smooth, quite and tight - the interior quality is amazing. I still would love to have a facelift 600 one day, I love the front end looks, the single speedo design and I just got to try the CVT.

    Good point about asking the dealer. The other day a reminder came up on my screen to take my 55 plate LS430 for a service. Im going to check my screen if it says anything about ATF service.

    I don't want rant about this country but: a) Petrol has gone up b) Electricity prices are going up c) House prices are going up d) Anything being imported is going up in price e) Prices of groceries has risen (if you find them on the shelf in the first place)

    Mine has aftermarket pads and discs and although the initial bite is very good, they do tend to fade and groan when coming to a stop hence the question- still in two minds as the brakes have very little mileage on them

    I think you may be right there - I remember posting on here where an LS460 was for sale but seller claimed it was lower tax bracket - and the reason maybe what you have stated above.

    Since we have been discussing road tax above - an LS430 has appeared on Autotrader - appears to be a nice well looked after example with sensible miles but it aa 06 plate which means its higher tax bracket - in terms of spec there is no difference between this car and earlier registered facelift cars. 2006 Blue Lexus LS 430 4.3 4dr for sale for £5995 (autotrader.co.uk)

    Good news - its now back at 10k after briefly rising to 15k - the market for these must of fallen through the roof overnight!!🙄

    I changed my bonnet struts last week with £15 ebay ones - fitted easily and performace is great - just lift bonnet about 30cm and then it rises by itself.

    if you are referring to the 15K LS430 - its in the lower tax bracket approx £300 per year - all LS430s upto and including 55 plate ones are in the lower tax bracket. 06 plate LS430s and ALL LS460s are in the higher tax bracket.
