    The whole battery won't be fault - it would be individual cells - these can be replaced and the battery reconditoned with warranty for circa £600 by independant companies. The car in current state wont be worth much at all (with its faults) if you decide to part exchange it or sell. On a side note did it have a Hybrid Health check last year? or is it too old for that.

    Lexus Perfected this technology on the LS430 - I very rarely have to touch the wiper stalk - they work perfectly in all conditions and mines had a replacement screen in the past. Its a pity technology which was perfect in 2004 has gremlins now!

    Hi It could be a malfunction in the worm gear in the seat mechanism - In the LS430 you can remove the seat by removing bolts in each corner (hidden by a plastic cover) You could try this and see if you can see the cause of the fault. There are electrical connectors underneath aswell - remember to disconnect battery and wait 10 minute if you are going to diconnect them.

    The LS430 air con is ice cold - It was 23 degrees outside the other day and I couldn't bare it blowing directly onto me

    I personally have no experience of this - but other members have mentioned it here quite a few times where a Lexus dealer has approached them in a similar way (especially those with cars on PCP).

    Oh WOW! Thats is a rare breed - and I as an LS430 owner am jealous!! I wish I could buy these cars and park them up in my own museum She's beautiful!

    I may be in luck here. Yesterday the weather was quite warm and I just tried the telescopic function I could hear the motor trying to work. So this could possibly be a stiff mechanism which needs lubrication. Can anyone recommend the best thing to use for lubricating the moving parts? - I have some red grease in the garage - will this suffice?

    Hi have you had a look on Auto Trader ? - there a some nice examples on there Facelift and Pre Facelift - and sales are sluggish at the moment

    With the dirty throttle body it only happens when slowing down from speed e.g leaving the motorway and slowing down - engine turns off !! so you could be doing 50/60 mph with no power steering😨

    Hi The Mark 3 LS400 suffers from a very similar fault which is down to dirty throttle body - could the same issue apply here - or is engine not running at that point?

    Hi Jon In there a way to test? - My telescopic function does not work - I have tried push and pulling the steering whilst pressing the adjustment button but no luck - I know they have been replaced once in the lifetime of the car before.

    On my LS430 I replaced the outer rubber seals all around - I bought these from a Lexus dealer for abour £30 each - might be worth ringing the dealer as its a vehicle specific part.

    I had a similar experice on my previous LS430 - vibratio through the gearbox when in drive - this was due to a warn gearbox mount

    So the trans fluid setup is exactly the same as the LS430 - but the LS400 never suffered from the problem the LS430 does.

    The LS430 has a seperate amplifier located on the right hand side of the boot (need to removing lining to access it) If the amplifier develops a fault you will have no sound. One way to check the amplifier is powering up is observe to amp to see if the cooling fans are spinning Mine developed a fault where the power supply packed up - I got mine repaired You can also follow ths video to do a diganostic which tells you if amp is connected or not: This video shows how to access the amplifier:
