  1. This post here is for a 1999 RX - maybe have a nother look for the plugs: Driver's Foot Rest - 99 - 03 Lexus RX300 - Lexus Owners Club of North America On the LS430 you can adjust the seat base cushion -when I bought my first LS430 many years ago, whilst playing around I adjust the seat cushion to come out fully - as a result the base would hit the underside of my knee when seated - this led to painful leg - I thought maybe the the 430 did'nt have as much leg room as the 400 but thankfully I realised my error pretty soon
  2. I was surprised to find that actual surround is plastic - but the amazing quality finish after all these years still maintains a shine
  3. Have a read here: Circuit Sports Hood Lift Dampers | Lexus CT200h Forums
  4. Hi Here is the link to the thread I mentioned:
  5. Hi I found this post from the US It looks like red leather is affected more than black - how does that change your research figures: Is it normal to have the leather wrinkle? - Page 3 - ClubLexus - Lexus Forum Discussion
  6. Hi I have read of one incidence where the owner had a simlar problem with his - lexus replaced the whole seat base - and then found out it was a relay which was switching early - perhaps you can pursue this avenue I will see if I can find the post
  7. Hi Stephen - apart from the normal car checks you should do - look out for the following : 1) A recent MOT would point out any suspension related issues - Its a heavy car but one which is well put together and you may not pick up any worn suspension issues on test drive. 2) Check the radar cruise control - there has been some incidences where the it plays up due to water ingress. 3) Check Tire pressure sensors are working as they should - sometimes it can be tricky to find non oem replacements/coding etc. 4) Check it has a hybrid health check - this will guarantee the hybrid battery for 12 months. 5) Check the glove box lid is level - some of them dont close properly. 6) Check the drivers seat base edge - the foam can sag and the leather stretches making the seat unsightly to look at and appear over-used. 7) Check drivers side seat belt pillar - I've seen loads where normal use has worn them down 9) Check the car sits level on all four corners to rule out any suspension problems - if the car has any electrical related suspension issue than chances are only Lexus will be able to sort it which can be expensive. Generally speaking suspension issues are rare. hope this helps
  8. I dont think there is a match for the older marques of Lexus such as LS400/430/600H and GS450H - the quality of material and workmanship is on another level and will not be repeated. The GS450H is a special car from what I have read on this forum. These cars were made when manufacturers were trying to make their name. Nowadays car makers are really up against each other with new tech emerging faster than ever - newer models coming out in shorter spaces of time - we are really spoilt for choice. Now with the EV market growing we no longer to consider specs/problems related to IC engines. I do wonder if the very new lexus are "special and distinguished" in the same sense.
  9. Hi I would be very surprised if they are different Plenty of LS owners (including me) have bought from ebay and have not had any issues. Go for the autodoc ones
  10. I would concure with Steve I remember unplugging the amplifier on my 430 and it blew the fuse and I never thought of the fuse and drove around for months without music lol
  11. I'n not certain what is the truth here: A mechanic local to me would'nt an aftermarket sensor to my previous one because of the reason you have mentioned above. The previous owner of my current 430 fitted a cheap sensor and it has worked fine. I have read that some code reading machines upset the Lexus electrics causing the EML to come on - whch could be the problem as opposed to the actual part.
  12. Maybe try some leather feed which may make the leather supple and the creases may go?
  13. My driving is always short local runs and my 430 never fails to start - even lately when we had sub zero temperatures in the morning. My current battery which came with the car when I bought the car is a non-brand (no markings) and I have not had any problems this being the second winter with this car. On my previous LS430 I fitted an Exide battery which came with 4 years warranty - I had no problems with that for the 2 odd years I had it. You could possibly switch off the keyless entry function which could help. Othrwise follows johns advice above.
  14. 2009 Blue Lexus LS 600h 5.0 L CVT 4WD 4dr for sale for £24,950 in NEW SOUTHGATE, BOROUGH OF BARNET (autotrader.co.uk)
  15. for those of you interested here is second video of the same car:
  16. You can see a fuel pump being replaced if it is that - forward to 21:00
  17. yes - prices for the mark 4 were slowly getting close to the 10k mark - now they are around 16/17k! I would want a white or silver one with cream leather with ideally under 100k miles
  18. I would love to try a 450h - but prices have gone through the roof at the moment. maybe one day . . .
  19. a how to here - but you do lose AM setting: How To: Build and Hardwire an Auxillary Input to OEM Stereo - Page 52 - ClubLexus - Lexus Forum Discussion
  20. Agreed - I noticed that aswell. The leather in my opinion is the result of not using leather feed - it has dried out causing the scabiness.
