  2. (as above) main difference for me was it wallowed a bit compared to the others and brakes - stopped when it wanted to LOL
  3. i agree - i think for me the 430 so far has been brilliant with no big bills - i have thought about 460/600 or gs450h but i know that eventually there will be big bills which only the dealer will be able to fix
  4. hi i had never changed an auxillary belt and it took me 5 mins when i done my mark 4 - so his charges are a bit on the high side
  5. i have a 430 and never seen those - i removed the seat of my 430 and those dont look like what i saw underneath the seat is held by 4 bolts and a couple of electrical connector - i would remove the seat and see what its all about be sure to disconnect the battery and wait 15 minutes before proceeding
  6. i dont think your air intake panel is sitting right view this video and pause at 7:23 and compare the spacing around the radiator bracket - it looks like your needs to go more to the left therefore solving your problem hope this helps
  7. a non genuine tensioner is £100 - the actual tensioner is 2 nuts and 1bolt - for a mechanic it should be a 10 minute job max
  8. there is a buying guider here: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/82073-looking-to-buy-a-ls400/
  9. i have had a look online and i think the parts are all correct - the only thing missing is a bit of foam which should be on the edge of the plastic coming from the air filter box to give a good seal between the 2 i would double check everything and make sure they are sitting in the correct positions
  10. this car has come up for sale again so i though i would mention it here - its on gumtree
  11. the height looks very high for a DHP in that 400 - if anyone is interested i would ring a lexus dealer before hand to ensure it is a DHP.
  12. i normally used gliptone leather cleaner - it has alcohol or something in it which helps is dry quickly without leaving any residues hope this helps
  13. and double check your car aerial has not developed a fault i.e its extending fully and retracting
  14. there was a guy here not long ago who had a mark 1 and he had the same problem after having both the rear spring replaced - the ride was high - i dont know how he sorted it i would start with making sure it has the correct springs if i remember the guys name i will post a link
  15. jon i cannot answer your question but i hope it all goes well - perhaps once you have your car you could do a write up on whats involved and how much it costs to bring a car down from ireland - im interested - many thanks
  16. why is it that only the quarter glass seems to have this problem and not the the others. was the problem fixed post facelift?
  17. lent my 430 to a family member for 4 weeks because their car had a niggly problem and just got her back and Boy WOW - its feels so much smoother than before - so smooth quite and serene ! And she passed the MOT - nearly got an advisory for a missing wheel nut though - but luckily had a spare in the garage so quickly. Roll on summer so i can give her a good clean and put the new mats in!
  18. hi I agree there does not seem to be a write up about the telescopic motor - the only member that has had that fixed is Nachav who had a replacement steering rack put in including the motor
