  1. have a read here to give you some ideas: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/topic/64496-92-ls400-hard-to-start-only-when-warm/page-2
  2. wow what a nice car - how come it doesnt have the boot lip? ive got a 430 and been thinking about the 450h for a while - i thought i talked myself into not buying one due to potential costly hybrid/pump problems which may arise and for me this will offset any hybrid benefit due to the low mileage i do BUT i keep looking at them and deep down i know i want one even though it may not be as problem free as the 430!! i like the styling and just want a change!! would it be safe to buy one with 100k? and common is this buzzing dash and seized caliper problem?
  3. couple of years ago i was prgaramming an additonal key to my Mark 4 ls400 - its a long drawn out procedure consisting of ignition on/off, press brake pedal, door lock unlock 5 times ....................... u get the idea t took me about 50 attempts over several days untill it finally worked - dont know why it took so long lol
  4. these cars were around before i started my driving life and ive never seen one in real life and im not into classics either so i cannot relate to them however after seeing the video i would like to drive one and see what its like compared to the lex. i like the interior and it appears quite and smooth and i like the way the suspension reacts to the road surface i.e the suspension absorbs the bump and is not felt by the car.
  5. hi lexus coventry charge £290 for the belt change - waterpump is £100 extra if you are getting it done from an independant make sure they have done one before - its major surgery and requires alot of dismantling of the front engine. sorry cant give you an answer to your specific question but im sure someone will be along soon to give you that information.
  6. i found this on direct gov website 114 You MUST NOT use any lights in a way which would dazzle or cause discomfort to other road users, including pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders personally i think some of these DRLs we these days are dazzling - decision is yours - surely if you get stopped by the police they will give you a chance to rectify it before taking any action?
  7. havent had those fitted and yes they do look too bright. i have however fitted led replacement bulbs to my 400 and 430 now without any problems - these are like for like type which are simila inr brightness to the original bulb but give a whiter more modern look - thats the only mod i have done on my 430
  8. i wonder why the original listing was ended - the car was then not advertised for a couple of months and now back again
  9. this car has re-appeared advertised by the same dealer http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C570843
  10. my brother has one of those and im driving it at the moment - his is 325i msport - its a very nice drive once you get used to the harsh ride
  11. hi its ideally a 2 man job although i have done myself in the past if the struts are original then the ball will not seperate from the cup (strut) which means you have to remove the struts by undoing the nuts/ball joints which are screwed into the car body. you then use the new ball joints which should come with the new struts. on the new struts you will most likely see a metal band which goes around the outside of the cup - you will need to insert a flat screwdriver into the back and pull the band slightly - then pop the strut onto the ball and then remove the screw driver making sure the band springs back home hope this makes sense have a look here also
  12. yes we had a discussion a while back that due to the 460 being direct injection it was'nt possible however i have also seen a clip on youtube which shows one converted it might be worth speaking to a few experienced installers to see what they have to say
  13. a family member had it and chinese massage treatment worked for them
  14. im 37 and drive a ls430 and the love affair started 7 years ago with a mark 3 ls400. i do however like my brothers 325i m sport but couldnt drive it everyday
  15. ah ok - i never noticed this when i had my mark 3 and 4 - perhaps it might be something to do with the gas pedal set up - the mark 4 has electronic throttle hence why the gas pedal is very sensitive and the car feels alot lighter
  16. hi if you are refering to the car discussed here: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/97164-lowrider-ls400-up-for-sale-anyone/ then i think you need to view and drive it because this car has had alot of modifications and you need check these out and make sure they work properly Yes the car has 19 inch alloys but it also has air suspension so the ride harshness may not be as bad as it sounds hope this helps
  17. jon there is pics and instructions here: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls430/757395-diy-the-step-by-step-telescopic-steering-write-up.html
