  2. try ejecting with ignition on but not fully (so car not running)works on mine
  3. sounds like you have what mr http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=74935&pid=766333&st=0entry766333 wants i also work as a chippy , sub contract mainly so labour only , ,had the usual escort's,astras & vito van's , now run a 2003 1.8t passat estate with 142k on , what a workhorse , its a legend ,gonna run it till it drops which will probably be after me lexus way to good for tearing up with handsaw.s & nailpouches
  4. its a marmite thing , my manual passat i love ,the 300 sportcross has button shift on wheel can't see me ever using it though for me the auto can do all & more the manual can , which can't be said in reverse :duh:
  5. reminds me of a personal loan offer i received from sainsbury's bank a few years back , £15000 at 5.75% , for nectar customers ,apply now by phone or online spent 15mins on phone jumping through hoops , "great news , you have been approved" she said for our personal loan rate of >>>>>>>> 13.9% whhooooaaaaaa i said , ,what about the 5.75% ? sorry , ,the underwriters decide which rate a customer get,s , , , yeah , , i told em to F O ! & haven't used a nectar card since
  6. hi , not been long on the lexus path myself (2 weeks) but can only praise what i have found , i tried a couple of 200's but in the end the 300 sportcross ticked more boxes for me , the bad mpg i was expecting has not proved true , the ride quality & drive is sublime with great cabin feel & standard extras that would embarrass most high end german motors even now , , & mine is 9yrs old & cost me £2700 !! xenon's,tinted glass, heated seats,satnav,6 disc in dash cd,anti glare mirrors etc etc try one out , i was left wondering where the catch was when i drove away in mine , , but there ain't one since i bought i made service enquiries , oil & filter change at main dealer yearly £119 with courtesy car , discs & pads can be purchased for under £200 for all 4 corners if you have a good indie to do the work , timing belt on mine is at 100k i believe , not sure about the 200,s enjoy the search & if you get chance try a 300 , ,210 bhp of pure creaminess :winky:
  7. think the surprise comes after much studying on net before purchase & finding majority of features slating the economy of the 200's , ,i just expected a caning at the pump with a 300 which has not happened , wife been out today doing her usual saturday stuff , get's home & she asks me if " maybe the fuel gauge is faulty ? :P
  8. i wasn't expecting the earth from my IS300 when it came down to frugality but after 1st "normal" weeks use am pleasantly surprised , wife is main user & earlier in the year we were putting £35 a week into her vw touareg , that traded for 520d touring that was taking £25 of fuel on average friday/friday usage , last friday with fuel light on put £30 in the lexus , , nothing different on the usual week & still plenty of unleaded to burn , makes me even happier with my switch to the sportcross ;) a winwin for a change
  9. ok , , spent a couple of hours trawling the lexus forum,s in states & sure enough this fault is well known & documented although no apparent solution http://my.is/forums/f103/oem-navigation-problem-unable-read-data-359227/ so my above questions remain ?
  10. hi all , could i sample your font of knowledge ? 1 week into my lexus ownership & intermittently the satnav screen reads "unable to read data , check if map dvd is correct ?" but it has worked so i assume the dvd is correct & it is the reader that is faulty or maybe the disc ? have used a dvd cleaner disc but no joy so questions ? 1)is the satnav reader/dvd/drive unit that is in the boot of my 300 sportcross the same as you find in other toyotas ? 2)do other toyota satnav discs work in lexus units ? 3)anyone else had similar issue ? thanks fellas , ps/showing as my 1st post as couldn,t log in under usual user of andy w ? ? admin notified :winky:
