hello , you may be as surprised as i was with my 1st lexus , 9yrs old 53k covered , mot,d without fault & 3 months on whether pootling in town or hitting the high numbers on motorway , totally fault,squeek & rattle free :winky: loving mine so far !

& then join the BM forum's full of complete tossers who carry on online as they do on the road, arrogant snotty knowall's who seem convinced the car they own far surpasses everyone elses , quite amusing really i had a 5 series tourer for 7 months this year,joined the 5 forum but after 4/5 weeks just gave up visiting the site , unlike the vw touareg forum which i still participate on regularly really enjoyed slagging my 5 off when i sold it , even though it was a good motor just wanted to bring out the goon's ! which it did haha , , enjoy the read

the car is met green , mica i think ?? was just too good to not buy it because of colour , although am now getting p****d off hearing " pity about the colour , shame you couldn't find a silver or black one " anyhow after weighing up going met grey on the wheels i bottled it & went for plain old met silver

can't wait , had the 300 sportcross a couple months & the 16's it came with don't do it justice so after a letdown with some 17inch 5 spokes i bought some RX300factory 18's in need of refurb (now done) & had 4 brand new tyres fitted today , fitment day tomorrow & hopefully pics will follow

captured to perfection , the prestige ,magic & panache of owning a german car has diminished considerably in the last 20 years i had a bmw 325 sport in the late eighties followed by 6 mercs in 15 years , during which time the "exclusivity" of the german brand's became diluted , a class/ b class/ 1 series brought base prices down mixed together with current crazy lease deals , you can lease a current c class sport for the same monthly payment as the HP on a mid range french car ???? eeerrrrrrrr , let me think for a minute ? drove me to VW 4 years ago & now into lexus , no regrets & can only see more lexus purchases in the forseeable happy days , premium quality without the badge snobbery !

yes i do have nav & the unit is in the house at the mo ,removed it last weekend, appears it needs a new laser fitting so trying one from a similar toyota unit i got for a tenner ,cheers for that , ,saves me removing doorcard should have sussed but the lexus is wifes D/driver , i just get to buy it,wash it & fuel it !

ok , before i set about removing front speaker in drivers door any inside knowledge much appreciated , , for some reason no sound is coming from it so want to check connections there first

find our 300 similar to our 1.8t vw passat , 20/25mpg town , , , +30 motorway , , , doesn't matter what you drive if you boot it , , they all like a drink

eagerly awaiting my refurbed 18,s from the garage , 4 brand new tyres waiting to go on , can't wait to see the difference on my sportX , took me a few weeks sourcing the right wheels but worth the wait i hope , pics will follow

nice choice at 19 mate , i,m impressed , my 19yr old is still besotted with his 1.8sri corsa 54 plate ,cost him £1500/yr insurance ,what kind of quotes are you looking at on the lexus?

good eye RE the sportcross :winky: i tried a IS 200 saloon but was lucky enough to find a 300 sportcross at crazy price & once driven the creamy 24v engine is a winner, insurance is less than our previous 5 series & the fuel is no way as bad as the online carpages lead you to believe , , try a few different ones out , there,s a Sx for sale on forum i think

european roadtrips ? cruising along 95/98mph ( + vat) is far more acceptable through france & germany & does make big miles seem easy :winky:

in my short lexus ownership the wheels have been the biggest disapointment ,not mine ( i think they were a spare set fitted to sell the car) but the ones ive tried to buy even ones from relatively new models which ive looked at aren't great , how come? previous vw,s & mercs no similar issue ?

its a personal preference but in the 2nd pic lowrider the car looks crippled , or as my teenager would say "slammed" i like a lowered appearance but sometimes when too low it spoils the overall look of a car

feel like i already won the prize , for real ! 2002 IS 300 sportcross 53k drove away at £2700, , not the fastest but i'm more than happy with the whole package no shortage of bargain's around though

a month in & still all good with the X , been asked a few times if car is import ( which it isn,t) most folks have never even seen one & i know they are a rare breed , just wondered if any figures on how many were sold in uk ?

got some 18 factory lexus rims today for my 300 sportX ,usual shabby lacquer so refurbing before they go on , car is met green & seriously thinking of going for a met grey wheel finish , ,bodyshop job off a mate "paintspraypete" yes ? no ?
