  1. rear seats do split/fold to leave flat load area , another nice touch is the passenger seat folds forward horizontal , not seen that in any other car ? enjoy the search
  2. have you looked at any sportX joe ? estate/loadlugger they most definitely are not ,more style over substance LOL , my wellies & border terrier fit in just nice though :P
  3. just the 6 for me although i did have an air cooled 911 for a while , ,that needed 12 plugs & 11 litres of oil !!
  4. just brace your wallet before you click the "buy now" they ain't cheap but then the best rarely is :winky: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-LEXUS-SPARK-PLUGS-SK20R11-DENSO-IRIDIUM-LONG-LIFE-/260862627692?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cbc9fcf6c#ht_3668wt_944
  5. bought from a dealer who had taken it as a trade in , i took a gamble after looking at the history & a testdrive to buy the car as seen,no warranty & with only 3 weeks mot , paid £2700 & felt like i,d stolen it as i drove away the "negative" for some is the met green ext paint , think its jade metallic & doesn,t concern me at all , upgraded the wheels to 18,s from lexus RX & it looks great to me
  6. smitten with my sportX joe , 1st lexus & came down from a 520d sport tourer , no regrets at all , smooth as you like with all the trimmings , paid under £3k for my 02 with 53k & virtually unmarked throughout, MPG not as bad as i thought but it does less than 80miles a week. not rapid off the mark for a 3.0 but comes alive when if you work the engine & covers ground on longer journeys with great ease , had it 4 months now & still have to check the rev counter when stationary to make sure the car is running ,unlike the diesel bmw
  7. 2 bags of builders sand is less weight than filling your car tank with fuel ?????????
  8. interesting & divisive post i recently switched our bmw 520d for a 300 petrol lexus & couldn't be happier , i hated the noise & general driveness of a turbo diesel , fortunately i don't need to achieve great mpg or please any company car criteria, i am , on the whole relatively new to jap cars (4months) after 16 years germanic motoring , still have a 2003 20v turbo petrol passat that returns 33/37mpg daily(not in town) & goes like **** through a goose , generally folks go diesel to save money but in my experience they cost more to buy , more to run/service & the fuel costs more , , why not just buy a better petrol car ? ? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201144425841258/sort/priceasc/fuel-type/petrol/maximum-age/up_to_2_years_old/model/passat/make/volkswagen/page/1/radius/200/postcode/bb120hr/advert-type/featured-listing/dealer/11495/usedcars?logcode=flp what i can say for sure is the VW/AUDI produce the best range & value for money cars with one to suit every desire & budget , their biggest fault for me however is sheer numbers on the roads , lexus offers everyday folks that little panache & prestige no longer available from germany unless you have £40k + to spend whichever you have just enjoy them ,
  9. won these today , http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190615670989?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_500wt_1198 pick up 8 miles away on thursday so should make all the difference , good write ups on the net so can't complain at that ££££
  10. winter tyres :winky: should have a set on my spare 16,s before the week is out , guess the 18's i have on now won't help
  11. well i had read how utterly useless these cars are in the snow but earlier today i found myself snaking to a halt 20yards from home in less than 50mm of white stuff had to laugh it was that hopeless , tried again with a stone flag in the boot & autobox set to "snow" HAHA that must be on there from some previous jeremy beadle show luckily i could go out in our passat which managed no problem , , just concerns me a little that if you go anywhere in winter & there is a light snowfall your'e pretty much stranded in the lexus
  12. thought they were all 17's ? anyhow , good luck , , i found plenty of 17's when i was looking but all were very shabby , ended up with 18inch 5 spoke from RX , ,well pleased
  13. i tried the is200 saloon & then is300 sportcross gav , the creamy silence & smoothness of the 300 won me over & after 3months the mpg hasn't proved disastrous , i switched from a 2007 520d ,fuelwise a week i now put £30/£35 in instead of £25/£30 but the noise, smell & uncomfortable bonenummbing drive of 18inch runflats is something i'm glad to be rid of no regrets mate , ,£10k difference in cash & enjoying my lexus luxuries , happy days
  14. 17's should look fine on your LS , much better sticking to factory rims IMO , wouldn't risk 16's though , 18's would be the ideal for looks but a little harder on the ride & if the 5spokes haven't been refurbed its a good bet that they'l need doing , all lexus alloys seem to have a short lifespan before they look shabby
  15. yep they will , ,sorry no pics but this should help explain , scroll down to lexus & it shows all pcd(wheelnut position( & offsets are the same for all lexus model's http://www.carlsalter.com/wheel_fitments.html
  16. pm sent tony , , father in-law so impressed with mine he wants it but i'm not ready to part with it yet
  17. just for reference , ,what mileage/age was the timing belt changed ? my 02 3,0 has 54k covered & main dealer told me 90k before i need to change belt ?
  18. not sure the bmw mpg good or bad once the purchase cost is factored in ? my 03 1.8t 20v passat petrol which is my daily driver has served me 48,000 miles in 4 years ,now covered 144,000 total , computer shows overall average for my ownership at 31mpg , ,not bad for a 9yr old estate probably worth about £1500 so it stay's till it dies LOL good luck with your new motor
  19. not really thought , do i have options ? just planned to use a current widescreen satnav unit (navman/garmin etc) placed in the flip up unit so nav hides away when not in use
  20. factory pop up item , sometimes the error code "check for correct dvd" comes up & won't work , then when it does the features of up to date tomtom's are much better so was thinking anyone taken out the screen & fitted in new touchscreen aftermarket unit to the pop up unit ? would need to wire the unit direct also has it been done already chaps ?
  21. would always try to stick with factory item's , pcd & offset correct that way , i just fitted RX300 18,s to my IS300 , bought shabby , refurbed with 4 new performance tyres & look great , £540 all told but don't tell the wife
  22. i'm sure you'l make an exception for this overdubbing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_tVHWtXjDs&feature=related still makes me laugh & ive seen it at least 8 times
  23. am self employed also(24years) , it was always going to upset those affected but i just can't understand how any civil servant could think the system is in any way fair for all , whether public, private or self employed what's wrong with each person taking care of their own pension ? get out what you yourself put in , not what others are forced to cough up for on your behalf ! it was fool's gold that just could not go on for ever , a pension's apartheid if you will , totally divisive unfortunately when the changes come it will affect million's but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be changed i understand their woes but it's no different to being told "sorry , that endowment policy didn't do as well as we said it would" or "sorry , that private pension you paid into for 30years(without assistance from others) is not as much as we thought it would be " bad news never has a happy end
  24. tell you what, , , you pay for mine & i'l pay for yours ! ! its a scandal that needs stopping , whats's wrong with everybody funding there own future ?
