  1. So am I - visually they look the same size, but having initially ordered a LHD pair I can confirm they are very different sizes LOL!
  2. It seems he no-longer does RHD wingmirror covers either for the ISF, and hasn't done so for some time. Given the low numbers of RHD ISFs looks like these are as rare as hen's teeth to get hold of. Ho hum etc...

  5. Thanks Rich - it sounds like a moving feast of additional items to consider, so not a project to be taken lightly from a budget perspective. I may also call a garage that has been listed on here as having done this job before to see what they have to say. Tempting though...

Hi Guys What is the experience here from people who have fitted the RHD RR Racing PPE headers without the cats: is it compliant for UK air emissions? is it okay to get these fitted without buying the rest of the RR Racing tuning package? Also, what else do you need from them; engine mounts, new gaskets etc? Thanks all
  7. I hope you enjoy it, I drove one on track and was quite underwhelmed, I think if they did a manual option it would be better, and it lacks the charisma and charm of a V8, but if it floats your boat, enjoy, it is certainly a handsome looking thing...

  9. Thanks Rich - is your car regularly kept outside in the sun? That seems to be the rub, cars kept in a garage tend not to have sun fade, it's just in the UK whether this is an issue or not in everyday use with our glorious sunny weather LOL!

Hi Guys Just interested if any ISF owners here have fitted carbon fibre bonnets to their cars (with the carbon weave showing, not painted over) and if they had seen any issues with sun fade over time? I know in some hotter US states this UV damage to the lacquer over the carbon weave can be an issue, but wanted to see how people in the less sunny UK had faired with this issue? Thx
  11. This is interesting to me, as my ISF is my daily, is a 2012 with 85k on the clock. I am trying to keep the mileage creep low, but know it will be 100k in the next 2-3 years. To me this isn't a garage queen sports car, so I'm happy to use it as my daily. I plan to run it for the next 3-4 years, and absorb any costs that come up. Beyond that, we'll see... It is such a fantastic car, so simple and straightforward to use (no nanny devices and built-in stop/start. suspension menus etc) and reliable :)

Hi As an a GR Yaris owner, I would make two observations (which may, or may not be helpful): - The GR is not a 4X4, so, yes, it is four wheel drive, but isn't a 4X4 substitute if going over rough ground, it may be a homologation special, but it is a road/track car in the guise sold by Toyota to us consumers - It is hard to be confident, but the one you show pics of looks like it has been lowered. Lots of owners do this, I've kept my suspension stock, but the carbon bonnet and after market exhaust are nice touches.
  13. The car is either an import, or modded by an owner. No late UK cars I have seen have the seat colour/F-logo upgrades US cars had...
  14. There were a few ISF's imported into the UK in 2012, and (to my surprise) even 2013 (but these are mega rare), per the car recently reviewed by Jayemm on YouTube, but I think the US got them through to 2014.
  15. Hi Guys Does anyone know how to remove telescopic struts that hold the bonnet open on the ISF? I can't see anything online, and, unlike other Lexus/Toyota cars where where seem to pop out top and bottom, on my car there seems to be a thread on the top of the strut where it goes into the bonnet. So does it pop out at the bottom and screw in at the top? Thanks
  16. New vid on the ISF by Jayemm: Looks like a mint 30k 2013 model. But as a longtime owner the use of a standard exhaust is annoying, and why do almost all reviewers complain about the ‘cramped back seats’!!!?? We have two boys in their twenties and late teens and have never had any issues with the back seat space.. Anyway, good to see a review on a mainstream U.K. car channel.

  19. I usually go to the annual JDM Castle Combe event, and have been for the last few years. You usually get the usual mix of 'Jap' car enthusiasts and the more custom/modding scene crew (similar to Japfest that I missed this year). Well I went to the event this weekend and it just felt like a weird vibe with the people there, the demographic seems almost totally tattooed-up guys and girls 19-25 with an almost Cosplay/Manga sub-culture thing going on, and not from the best parts from whatever towns they live in. I really felt like an outsider at an event I should really feel at home at given my previous attendance, and ownership of Lexus, Toyota and Mazda cars over the years. There were some great cars in the various parked display areas, but overall it felt like quite a downmarket/rough event this year - shame.. 😞 Still Goodwood this week, so the other end of the social spectrum LOL!

  21. Looking at the title of the thread I wondered if it was about gender fluidity and cars mechanics, LOL! The problem with any dealer is knowing the have done the job properly, I had mine done at 80k last service, but on the ISF I have been told they need to pump the old oil out, and that there is no drain plug, but that may have been incorrect info they told me? Still having done is a good call as it hopefully avoids any transmission issues in the next 50k+ miles of the car's life....

  23. I'm not sure I have much to add here, except I have owned (and still own) an ISF (two in total) over the last eight years. I think it comes down to: - what you want to use the car for - how the car has been looked after For me buying the 'right' car I can fettle with is better than buying a car just because someone has spent some money on preventative servicing. I use my car everyday and so appreciate it as a beautifully made, simple and classic V8. I don't use it for track driving or racing, so my expectations are maybe less than someone who wants to use the car more 'on the limits'. Stock suspension seems to last forever, and is IMO fine for everyday use, bushings may need replacing at higher mileage, but this kind of wear is also how the car has been driven in the past. I would rather a good car, with a careful owner that needs some money spending on it, than one that has been thrashed, but had suspension mods etc all done. Pays your money and takes your choice etc.
