  1. WOW! that looks a real beauty, very well bought......................early Chrissy prezzy!!!
  2. Congratulations! What a beautiful baby. As a grey haired wrinkly can I just say, enjoy every minute because time just flies by so quickly, no sooner are they into their first school uniform they then seem to be 18 before you know it. Mine are well into their forties now and the grandkids are knocking along at a brisk pace too. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. I've said it on here before, the best smell in the world is your baby having just had a bath!
  3. Hi again, I have just got my disks out to check the part number and it is correct and, it is the genuine part from Toyota.. I only updated mine last year. P.S. If you call Lexus Parts and quote the number that I have given you, it will be fine. I would give Lexus Poole a call, ask for Ian in Parts and he will give you a good deal, he is always extremely helpful.
  4. Hiya Gaz31, this is the info that you require. Part number is PZ445-X03EU-OC
  5. I have recently renewed my warranty. One dealer quoted me £795 I think it was. I phoned a few more dealers and finally got it for £414 including 12 months full roadside assistance. very well worth a few phone calls.
  6. Listen to loads of stuff really, lots of 50's and 60's music. plus much much more. One of my favourite listens, when I really up the volume is Chris Rea's ROAD TO HELL..................brilliant!!!!!! If you're looking for some really moody and relaxing music whilst you're driving, have a listen to Chris Spheeris' EUROPA...............once again, brilliant!!!
  7. Contact Andy at Lexus Poole, brilliant bloke, he will probably give you some discount on your mats. Got mine from there..............really good deal too.
  8. Your car is the same colour as mine, I love it, my wife doesn't. Very similar to my previous Rover 75 Connoisseur, she didn't like that either! I think that I will do the interior lighting modification myself shortly, looks to be well worth doing. I have thought about doing this previously but never seem to get around to it. Enjoy your car.
  9. Wondering if anyone has read the article on the Lexus IS300h by Chris Evans in the Event supplement in todays Mail on Sunday?
  10. Went on a run yesterday up and back mainly on the M5. I have to say that I saw no difference whatsoever as regards centre lane hogging, it's just the same as it always was. I was driving on the inside lane and looked in my mirror and I could see a very long way back and there, in the centre lane was your committed hogger, nothing at all behind me on the inside lane but, he just stayed there and continued to do so after he had passed me! Even more amazing was the fact that at one point, I was doing 70mph, nothing behind me and just a few cars some way ahead of me and then blow me, I look in the mirror and coming up in the outside lane is a whole line of cars, I counted 11 of them as they passed me, all still remaining in the outside lane and once again, they continued to drive in the outside lane until they disappeared from view. I imagine that at some point one of the 11 would get frustrated and then overtake in the middle lane!
  11. Although I live in Exmouth (Devon) I get all my bit and bobs including a paint-touch-up kit, from Lexus Poole. If you give their service department a call they will put you right and they have always given me a bit of discount too. I think that the chap that you need to speak to is called Ian.
  12. Lexus Plymouth are not being particularly helpful. They do not even answer my emails and text messages.
  13. Hiya normski, I am thinking about trying to contact the previous owner to see if he can remember what he had done at his last service.
  14. I sent an email to Lexus UK and they gave me details of who to contact for this information, I made contact, sent them a copy of my V5 and the service book and today, the original contact at Lexus UK has come back to me with an apology to say that 'regrettably we are unable to provide you with print-outs of the service work that has been carried out on your vehicle' They went on to say that they had phoned Lexus Plymouth and had been told that they had already informed me that as the dealership had changed hands they couldn't help because they didn't have access to the previous owners database. This is not true, Plymouth have not informed me of any such thing. Despite my many emails I just cannot get a response from them on the matter. Anyone got any further thoughts? Must admit I don't like this situation and it has got me wondering...........................
  15. The instructions are very precise. I had no trouble doing the job other than the fact that it did need to be modified slightly because it was a 220d. Michael is very very helpful and if you communicate with him by email he will tell you exactly what time he will be available to guide you if you need it. I seem to remember that I started doing mine at about 7am and was then able to 'chat-on-line' with him and Mr P via messenger, it all worked a real treat. When you contact him, mention my name and he will remember using messenger to get safely and successfully to the end of the procedure. I had to have a multimeter to hand so that I could tell him what readings I was getting from each wire. You won't have this problem of course because you will be working to the original 250 wiring diagram.
  16. Tell you what, if this grey haired old codger can do it, then I'm sure that you can! I mentioned in the thread that I was the first to fit the mod to a 220d and that there were some alterations needed to the wiring which was originally set up for use on the 250 but, with the help of Michael and his electronics genius in Thailand using Messenger, we overcame the problem. I didn't realise it at the time but I have since been told that it could have had an effect on the warranty with Lexus and that is the reason that I am not doing my current car. I do like the mod though, very much because, when you lock the car and are walking away from it, you can look back and if the mirrors are folded in then you know that you have locked it It may look daunting but you can take it from me, it really is very straightforward. Go for it. One recommendation that I would make though is to get yourself a nice fine tipped soldering iron, this will help to keep your work nice and neat. You can usually get these quite cheaply from someone like Maplins. I seem to recall that I made a suggestion to Michael about the wiring but at the moment I can't think what it was, it's an age thing you know. The suggestion that I made would enable the unit/fuse to be got at simply by removing the drivers door switch panel as opposed to having to remove the whole door panel, which can be a fag but, using my method you only have to take the whole panel off when first installing the mod. I will see if I can find what it was that I suggested and will get back to you.
  17. Have a look at this link http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/75371-folding-mirrors/ Read the thread from start to finish is best.
  18. Yes I am absolutely gutted at the thought of parting with my 250. I have just renewed my warranty with Lexus (a further 12months) I haven't made a final decision about towing at the moment. I may just leave the van on a seasonal pitch all of the time. If I do decide to tow, I am considering an RX as a replacement for the IS.
  19. Wow! that's an absolute steal................well done. I also replaced a 220d but can't get anywhere near the same mpg with the 250. Your 220d but have been a poor example methinks. I went up to Bristol recently, about 150mile round trip and the computer was showing 43.7 on arrival at home and having driven at speeds between 70 and 80 mph. I am more than pleased with that but I would have got more out of the 220d but, as you have already discovered, the 250 is a much better car all round, so continue to enjoy. I may have to part with my 250 (unfortunately) as I need a heavier car to tow my newly acquired caravan.
  20. Have just downloaded the app, very useful thank you
  21. Hi folks, recently had an MOT and they gave me the results of the exhaust emissions (passed OK) but I'm interested to know how what the figures mean. Anyone know how to interpret them?
  22. Hiya Normski, that is the dealership that I am referring to I'm afraid. I got all of the other printouts from the Exeter Branch but they told me that I would have to get the others from Plymouth, they did not give a reason why. I am at a loss to understand this but, I do have some thoughts on the matter that I am hoping will prove to be unfounded at the end of the day.
  23. I have managed to get the print-outs for all of the services which have been carried out on my 2006 IS250 with the exception of two. I have been trying for quite a few months to get these but without any joy. The service stamps are in the book but as I say I just cannot get hold of them. For some reason the dealer in question just seems to ignore the numerous email requests that I have sent them. Does anyone know if I can get these print-outs from somewhere else please? Many thanks.
