  1. One question I meant to ask, The 250 is a V6 and very smooth, is the difference very noticeable moving to the 300h which is a 4 cylinder jobby?
  2. Well, I'm moving in the right direction, (My thread 'Oh Blimey!' refers) I have booked my IS250 in for its next service on November 19th (just a mere couple of weeks away!!!) And on that day the dealer is loaning me an IS300h for the day, and boy oh boy am I looking forward to that. If I like it, and I can see no reason whatsoever why I won't, I then need to be looking around to find one to buy that has as many of the goodies that my current SE-L has got, such as light coloured leather, heated and cooled seats, dipping wing mirrors etc etc etc. A few weeks ago I sat in a CT200h Sport with lovely red leather seats which might tempt me but, I still think that I will be swayed in the direction of the 300h I will keep you updated as things progress. Any tips on things to try/look out for whilst i have the 300h?
  3. Welcome to the club Clive. Nice looking motor, A chap just round the corner from me has one of these, same colour as yours too. He's really pleased with it, and he's had it from new. I speak to him occasionally, try not to do it too often though as he's a Villa fan! Only kidding!!! Enjoy your car.

  5. Have a read of this thread....... http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/79916-carbon-build-up/ My own contribution is shown in post #3 New car looks a real treat................enjoy
  6. Saw my very first one of these 'live' last week. I have just purchased a static caravan and my next door neighbour has one, apparently it's his fourth! Every time I look out of the window there he is with his shammy lovingly tending it. Enjoy your new motor.
  7. I watched the WatchDog prog last night and when they were showing us how easy it is to copy a key, in each instance the car was unlocked and the drivers door was open. At no time did they tell us how the would-be key copier got into the car in the first place. Electronics are an absolute no-no for me but, I am assuming that this can only be done if the car owner leaves the car open to all and sundry. Surely, if they (the thieves) have to force entry in the first place, the alarm will be activated..........won't it?
  8. Would we ever! I've even got friends who drive Volvo's Vauxhalls and Fords. I don't doubt that you'll keep scanning the forum and at some point will have some useful info to pass on to other LS owners. Stay with us, we still love you! lol
  9. Blimey! When I was 23 I could just about afford the mortgage payments on a two bedroom bungalow costing £2900.00. Adam is seemingly a hugely successful young man. Good luck to him.
  10. Yep, these are the ones you want. Fitted mine just this morning, they're brilliant. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191204270330?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Get your order in today!!
  11. Hi Bobby, thanks for this info, extremely useful. I will investigate further. It could be just what I am looking for as I'm hoping that early-ish in the new year I am hoping to change the car. Thanks again.
  12. Sorry to hear your sad news Ian, I know exactly how you feel, my mum passed away on Saturday night so I am right there with you. Many thanks for all your efforts. Good Luck and Best Wishes for the future.
  13. I have checked mine and it is not subject to the recall (May06)
  14. Can't say that I have seen any adverts for those 'WOW' prices down this way. I am always looking at the local dealers offers and haven't seen anything like 'em. The local dealers are starting a used car event tomorrow, they have sent me an invite and so I might just go and take a look see at what's on offer.
  15. WOW!!!! Those are exactly the sort of deals that I will be hoping will be available when I come to change my car early next year.
  16. Thanks for all the replies folks, some interesting points mad. I must admit that my initial thoughts were to sell the car privately as I think that any offer by a dealer will be quite low. I will almost certainly be buying my replacement from a main dealer, dependant on where I might get the best deal from. I am still leaning very much in the direction of the IS300h as opposed to my earlier thoughts of the Ct200h. I might be swayed to consider a much newer IS250 but, it would take an awful lot to do so, I really do like (love) the 300h
  17. As I will be changing my car early in the new year I have decided not to go with the Lexus offer of extended warranty. (2years for the price of one at £795.00) Instead I am considering using WarratyWise (Quentin Wilson's outfit) Has anyone got any experience of this company? They are quoting me £406.00 for 12months cover, the standard items include look pretty good too plus, they are throwing in free cover for Airbags and Air conditioning. The cover includes £100.00 per hour labour costs and it has a £4000.00 single item limit. Any thoughts fellow members?
  18. You get first prize Stu! PM me your address and I'll contact my good friend Claudia Schiffer and ask her to pop round!!!!
  19. AMAZING!!!! 174 views and not a single witty or comedic remark. I really did think that the post would generate a bagful of silly comments all in the name of FUN. Oh well.
  20. I love the design of the wheels but am not a fan of dark ones. I think they look better when contrasting a lighter coloured car. Just my own thoughts.
  21. at some point during the day of an anniversary or birthday of 'er indoors' someone will always knock the front door, or ring the bell, to deliver an enormous bunch of expensive flowers that brings a smile to her face and yet, Carling or others of that ilk, never knock or ring the bell at that same door to deliver a crate of 'pop' that will bring a smile to our faces. Oh well.......happy days eh! Have a good one folks.
  22. Hi John, a big welcome to you. If you're like me you will visit the site every day. enjoy.
  23. Yes Graham, the unfortunate part about all this is, if you sell the car mid-month you can't claim the remainder of that months tax back from the DVLA (only the remaining unused complete months) but, the new owner still has to tax the car from the 1st of the month in which it is purchased, so they (the DVLA) are getting that bit twice!
