  1. "Are they worth the money erm well no" How much money please?
  2. Now why didn't I think to do that eh! Tyres say R18 Sorted, many thanks.
  3. I don't doubt that someone will be able to give a quick answer to this question. How do you measure the size of the wheels on your car, is it a simple case of running a tape across the rim diameter. Having measured mine this morning the diameter is showing as 19.5 inches. Many thanks.
  4. "Exec Spec enquired as to how the system worked and I replied very well, no problems, a happy bunny, the system was on 24/7. I was then informed by them, that they now wired the system to the ignition, as they had experienced battery problems with Hybrids over the passed year. Mercs. and I think Honda were mentioned, as well as one Lexus. (from memory). I explained that I used the, 'Smart Power Device', to stop the battery running down, but they told me that even with that fitted, they were having the same problems. A switch will be put into the line so that I can have the camera on all the time, or let it turn of when the engine is switched of. I have noticed that many members are fitting cameras, I wonder, has any thought been given to possible battery drain been given, or indeed, have any members had any battery problems after fitting a camera?" After leaving my camera in 'Parking Mode' recently I have twice experienced a flat battery. I think that this may be my own fault as I had incorrectly set the 'Parking Mode - Low Battery Voltage Cut-Out' at the wrong setting. However, the manufacturer is currently investigating this just in case there might be another reason for it.
  5. That's that then eh! I did think initially that they might be retro-fitted. The rain sensor module seems rather large to me. I didn't think that the one in my 250 was as big. Thank you for the info, much appreciated.
  6. Just wondering if there is a price list anywhere that indicates the cost of any 'additonals' Or is it always a case of 'Check your Local Dealer' for such things. For instance, if you've got Cruise Control, what would be the cost to make it into the 'radar' option. Similarly with the 'Lane Alert' which I think is already a 'part' of the rain sensor in the top of the windscreen. I notice that the 'switch locations' are already in place for some of them
  7. Me too! I'm impressed with the pickup even in normal mode. I even love the gimmicky sound.
  8. I don't think that I will ever be going down the 'Launch Control' route then!!!!
  9. "an 06 plate IS250 petrol with the cheaper tax band. It's a 6 speed manual" Have you checked the tax band on your new car? If I'm not mistaken, i think the manual version is a tad expensive. Apologies if i'm wrong.
  10. Yes another thumbs up here for the Glasscoat treatment. I had my IS300h done and the finish really does look like glass........Brilliant!!
  11. Agree, absolutely hate the cup-holders too. I mentioned in another thread, I was wondering if I could get hold of some similar material to the centre console, I could then make a couple of inserts to disguise them and it would then become a better armrest for the passenger.
  12. Come on then Normski, how did you enjoy your day with the 300h?
  13. Normski said at #2 above "I find him a bit of a sad little twerp really. He wallows in his self importance and habitual dependence on jocularity." My sentiments exactly
  14. Hiya Normski, yes I was wondering if the 'innards' might just be the same as the 250. I will have a go at getting at 'em in the next day or so and, if they are the same I will do me an order. The light is so much better. Sounds like the dealer is trying to tempt you today!! You've suddenly discovered that you have to do a 200 mile round trip today then eh! ENJOY!
  15. Sorry to hear of your troubles Michael. I know exactly how you feel, have had three similar experiences way back in the early 70's. All of them were rear enders and all whilst I was stationery! Fortunately I was driving a company car on each occasion. Two of them drove off before I could challenge them but fortunately I was able to get their registration numbers and they were both caught and prosecuted. The third one owned up on the spot but, such things always leave a sour taste eh! Hope you don't get any more.
  16. Geoff, you may have done this already, but I think you have "do something" to get the mirrors to dip. I read it on here, something to do with putting it into reverse and then dipping the mirror and pressing a button when it has dipped as far as you want it. I'm not sure I've got that quite right but it's worth looking in the manual if you haven't already. Hi David, it is only the passenger side that doesn't dip. The drivers side works perfectly but, if you watch the one on the passenger side whilst engaging reverse, you can see that it is trying to dip but it just judders and that's it. I think that it must be a damaged cog or something simple. The dealer didn't seem to want to try a repair, they just went ahead and ordered a new one. I'm happy enough with that, just as long as the paint is the same as the rest of the car.
  17. Mine is going in on March 20th to be updated to F and to have a new passenger door mirror fitted.............it doesn't dip when engaging reverse.
  18. Thanks for the replies folks. Am I correct in thinking then that I can pair my phone and my wife's and, if we are both in the car and she is expecting a call, all I need to do is to switch mine off and her phone will automatically connect when the call comes in. With regard to the LED's, I will do a bit more investigating, thank you.
  19. I could only pair one mobile phone to the car when I had my IS250, does anyone know if it is possible to pair more than one Bluetooth accessory in the IS300h? Also with the help of our good fellow member Normski, I was able to change most of the bulbs in my 250 to LED's which gave a much better and brighter, whiter light, particularly those in the cabin. They were far better than tthe yellowy originals. Has anyone done this in the cabin of their 300h and if so, can you advise re the LED's purchased please. I know that most of the externals are already LED's but not too sure about the cabin ones. I have recently fitted LED's in the puddle light/door panels and they are a much whiter light and so this makes me think that the cabin ones are not LED.
  20. For some reason I have a spare IS250 Owners manual. I gave one to the buyer of my car but still have this one. If anyone wants it, it will just cost the postage, whatever that might be. it's a fairly lumpy little book.
  21. Somt time ago I did a small modification to my IS250 (on an 06 Plate) to enable Bluetooth Music Streaming from my iPhone/iPod through the in-car radio system and it worked perfectly. This is the thread that put me on to the idea.....http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/70947-diy-bluetooth-music-streaming-using-a2dp/ Have a read of this thread to see if it would be any good for you. Now that I no longer have the IS250 I am wondering if anyone would like it for their car. It is as good as new and I think that it is worth £15.00 plus a couple of quid towards postage.
  22. I got my IS on February 3rd and had the Gen3 Glasscoat applied. The finish does indeed look like glass and I was quite impressed. i'm not sure what the life of it is and so I need to check out the best way of maintaining the finish for as long as possible. This traetment also came with a very nice carrycase full of goodies which I haven't yet examined properly. Might get round to that today as it is very nice and sunny outside! Have a look here if you're interested.......https://www.gen-3glasscoat.com/
