  1. Welcome Alan, will look forward to seeing some piccy's of your isf when you get it. The gs looks nice! Enjoy the car and the forum.
  2. Yep, did this on mine. Looks great and any passengers love it!
  3. I contacted Lexus UK about this and they have confirmed that the version I was updated to in December is the current one (VD12102C) and the one currently available on the portal is indeed the same and so, as Steve says, there is no point in bothering with it if you have this version. Lexus also told me that these updates are made available in April and December of each year. I also suggested to them that they should show on their website which versions of software/firmware are the current ones, along with the release dates so that owners can see at a glance if their vehicles are up-to-date. They said that they will look into the possibility of providing this service.
  4. I did mine when I had the 250, it's very straightfoward to do. Do as john says and contact Michael for the details etc
  5. I had my software updated at the recent service on December 16th. I was told that the current version is VD12102C and that's what they updated it to whilst doing the service and so it would seem that there is little point in installing this freebie.
  6. I have got these figures now from iZarc - I imagine that these are the uncompressed files, only slightly different to the 162xxx figures. Do you reckon I can use these without messing up my satnav? Thanks for the help.
  7. I have downloaded iZarc and I have ended up with slightly bigger files now. The figures in my post above showing file sizes of 162xxx are now showing 166xxx and the one showing 167xxx is now showing as 171xxx. Does this indicate that Winzip didn't unzip properly? Where does iZarc normally save the file to so that I can get at it to transfer on to a USB stick?
  8. Hello Edward, many thanks for being so helpful. I have attached a copy of the files that I have ended up with, are you able to tell if they have been 'unzipped' and ready for use. Does the size of the files indicate that they are no longer compressed. I have to say that when I was downloading from the portal, it took quite a bit of time and seemed like a big file. These files don't seem that big to me. I have just edited this post and the second image is of the files that are still appearing in the Winzip software and they look much bigger to me. Thanks again.
  9. Well I finally managed to get the download. It was indeed a case of adding it to 'my cart' and then going through the 'purchase procedure' even though there was no charge applicable. I then proceeded to download 'Winzip' so that I could unzip the file but, it is here that I have run into another problem. I have nver used Winzip before and I really don't know what I am doing. I have got the software update into Winzip and I would have thought that it would be a simple case of telling it to unzip but it doesn't appear to be that straightforward. The file that I am trying to work on is called Software_Update_102c and there appears to be 6 individual files to unzip. Those of you who have put this update into your car, can you recall what you ended up with to put on the USB stick? I don't want to end up making a total mess of my satnav so any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  10. I have set up my Portal Account, printed off the instructions for the installation of this update but, whatever I do and whatever I click on doesn't result in a download. I cannot see a specific 'download' button to click on but, as I say, whatever I try, I cannot get it to download. I have even tried putting it in 'my basket' but to no avail. The actual portal is not the easiest thing to get into, I often just get a black screen and have to try again, eventually I do get in after two or three attempts. I was thinking, wouldn't it be nice if Lexus did full map updates at a more realistic price. My granddaughter recently moved into her new home and we went to see her last Sunday and had to keep phoning her for directions as it's not on my satnav.
  11. Will it be possible to download this via my pc onto a usb stick and then update the car afterwards?
  12. In fact you can set it to the left or the right and it'll work OK
  13. I've had more cars than I can remember in my approximately 57 years of driving but my last car before moving to Lexus was a Rover 75 Connoisseur (Nice car!)
  14. Hi folks, I am looking to park my car at Southampton Docks in May. Does anyone have any recommendations please, or even non-recommendations if that's the case. never too keen on the meet and greet jobbies, I'm not very trusting when it comes to that. having said that, if there are any good ones, it will be useful to know. Many thanks.
  15. Most of my motoring at the moment is very local/short journeys but I am showing about 43mpg.
  16. Just about to get quotes for my car and one of the questions refers to the security device. It's asking me if it is a Thatcham Approved Cat 1 or cat 2. How can I find this out please or does anyone know which if any, it is. Have had a look in the manual but cannot see the identification there, unless I'm not seeing it!
  17. Also, if you are reversing and using the mirrors without the 'dip' in operation, all you need to do if you suddenly decide at the last minute that they would be better dipped at that moment, just press the 'L' or 'R' button so that it lights up and the mirrors will dip. In other words you don't need to come out of reverse to change the setting. As you commented 'Brilliant'
  18. I have now adjusted mine to 7 flashes. It took me quite a number of goes to get it set up. I found success by substituting the 5 second figure to 10 seconds.
  19. i checked mine today and the reverse bulb has a 501 fitting but the bulb is approx 30mm in length ,maybe if you use a canbus led as they are longer and they also have the leds positioned on the end to throw light outwards maybe something like these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10X-T10-8-SMD-501-W5W-ERROR-FREE-XENON-WHITE-CANBUS-LED-SIDE-LIGHT-BULBS-/190929841243?hash=item2c744e2c5b:g:7M8AAOSwEK9T30oR http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Compact-Star-XENON-LED-Parking-Side-Light-Bulb-12v-501-W5W-T10-wedge-canbus-/290731801199?hash=item43b0f73a6f:m:mNXdXgMicyB10H0mBLUGkWw I used one of these. The bulb is a W16W. I ordered both but one of them was a little to long but I cannot remember which, sorry not very helpful. The COB led on the end is very bright. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171944953381?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291324868533?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Ed. Having looked at your links, the first one, the LED appears to be 45.5mm long and the second one is 48mm long. Am I correct in thinking that the longer one doesn't fit anyway? Thanks for the links. Are you still happy with the end result?
  20. I have had a go at this this morning and I get as far as the right turn signal flashing one time but even with following the next bit of the procedure it doesn't change from my original 3 flashes. Am I doing something wrong?
  21. I agree about the single reverse light. I changed the bulb for a high power LED equivalent which is loads brighter. I haven't noticed any judder on engine kick in on my car.Hi Edward, do you remember the part number for your replacement LED reverse lamp please? many thanks.
