nice looking mota m8,
wish my alloys looked that good, mine are the same as yours but with lots of bubbling.
and thats on an 05 reg :tsktsk:
-
im in eastbourne, where was the mot done?
i take my cars to just mots in bexhill.
as thats all they do,so there not searching for needless work.
i dont trust garages that do mots and servicing.
-
just looked at my keys, imo they do not look any different from my old ford galaxy key, which again the general concensus was you can only get them cut by the main dealer or an auto locksmith.
in the end i tried my local timpsons, and they cut it with no probs at all.
fords wanted in excess of £30 quid timpsons £7.50.
give them a try.

could you pm me the link too please.

i expect you require a pulley tool.

That works out to 18.8 mpg which is a bit poor. Try a short experiment. Brim the tank and drive until nearly empty but keeping below ALL speed limits, NEVER accelerating hard, ALWAYS easing off instead of heavy braking - boring and you will have to allow a couple of minutes more for each journey.
Work out mpg from miles done and how much is needed to brim the tank again (Divide litres by 4.544 to get gallons). If the result is in the thirties for mixed urban & motorway driving and in the twenties for urban only; then your poor mpg is just down to driving style - probably more suited to a lively 4-cyl car. If it stays poor in the experiment; start looking for something wrong with the car.
The IS200 isn't a particularly economical car. The manufacturer's figures are in the specs at the top of this page on the forum. As always, these are a bit optimistic; but you should expect something fairly near them.
thanks for the detailed reply,
as i havnt had a car for about 13 years(been in mpvs and a tdi for the last 4.5 years)i realize i wont be getting on average 50 odd mpg.
when i first got my lexus i put 20 quid in and got 88 miles out of it,so then put £75 in and got 291.
now i know if its full its lugging more weight around, plus ME having to get used to it.but was expecting a little bit more then what i got.
ive now put £40 in and that got me to half way by the fuel gauge,so were see how far that gets me, ;) think i need to take the lead out of my right foot.

ive just seen this on another forum i belong to,was about to post it here,

-

anyone want a private plate for their car,
dunno if it would be cool to have or wether you would be a complete nob?
-
or not? :o
i paid 4.8k for my 05 4 weeks ago.
wonder how much i could get for mine, with 54k on the clock.
-
good job fella,
ok how much have they cost you to do?
what have you used to fill the scratches/gouges etc
oh and how long have they taken you to do.
-
45 quid a wheel for all of that, that sounds very resonable.
whats the name of the company?
spit and polish apparently do the same sort of service but i havnt enquired on how much they charge.

these oil extractors are quite good for doing your own servicing,
but beaware they will not remove ALL the crud that settles at the very bottom of the sump
didnt matter when using it on my old tdi galaxy, because as soon as you started it the oil was black
but if using it with petrol cars would think it matters quite a lot?
-
nice how much are they expected to fetch?
how much did the refurb cost you.
im still arguing with myself on wether to get mine refurbed or buy new after market alloys
or keep searching fleabay for (hopefully a bargain)
found a place who will do refurbs for £76 all in,and thats sand blasted made good and baked and refitting of tyres.
or my bro/in/law runs his own chips away franchise for £40 a wheel, but this in my opinion will be as good as myself doing the work
and buying the stuff from Halfords.
dilemas dilemas,
-
thank you chap. B)
puts my mind at ease.
-
how much for your old ones, when you change? :winky:
-
as this seems the correct thread to ask,
mine seems to get to the middle(norm)temp within a few minutes,is this normal?
and if left to idle my fans too kick in fairly quickley.
sorry for the numpty questions, but comming from a galaxy tdi,i havnt had a petrol car for years
so slowly getting used to it.
regards greg

thanks peeps.that,ll do nicely.
