Well at least I tried. I called Lexus (Edinburgh, Canterbury and Stockport, where the car was last serviced and diagnosed with the Hybrid issue), none is willing to say anything. Everyone said it is out of warranty hence not covered. Edinburgh, said £109 for diagnostic and warranty is only 3yrs so well out of it. Canterbury, said £69 for diagnostic and warranty from hybrid heath check has expired in April hence not covering but I am more than welcome to have it diagnosed, not sure why. Stockport, said previous owner had it there and it was diagnosed a new traction battery needed. £2,285 for part. No warranty and they said no worth chasing it with Lexus either as the car does not have a complete Lexus history, only a mixture of 3rd parties and Lexus. So now I am looking the option to repair the hybrid battery. Does anyone know someone in Kent area that specialises in Hybrid batteries recondition/ repairs? I need to see the costs of doing it my self... or taking it to someone. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-GS-450H-hybrid-battery-single-cell-Also-repair-and-replacement-/182252778260?hash=item2a6f1cb314:g:WhUAAOSwgZ1Xuw5f I assume I would require two single cells to make a battery block. Hence I would require 4 cells to repair my faulty pack. Am I thinking correct? Cheers Vasilis.

I wonder... The car has failed it's MOT back in 2015, due to excessive exhaust leak etc... corrosion. The same time it had the hybrid health check from Lexus and all OK I assumed the exhaust was replaced, but today I noticed it had bodged the whole by a weld repair. Somehow I cannot help it crossing my mind, that the traction battery got a hit back then? Somehow I fail to believe they had it totally disconnected to do the welding. Is it know for welding to damage the hybrid systems and or traction battery? Not that is matters... just to put my theory at rest

I don't get it? Why would you need to pay customs? Isn't this concidered a within EU zone transaction? What ever you bring from Lithuania, you are only liable to pay the local VAT if applicable in Lithuania and that's it. Since it is a used item it might not even have a VAT applied as it has already been paid once when it was sold as new. Had you imported something from outside EU then customs would apply. Am I wrong? I have bought several items (springs, shocks etc) from Germany and never paid customs. However I did when bought from US and China as they are outside EU As mentioned here import taxes and customs are only when importing from outside of EU http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/individuals/buying-goods-services-online-personal-use/buying-goods/buying-goods-online-coming-from-within-eu-union_en or http://www.dutycalculator.com/country-guides/Import-duty-taxes-when-importing-into-the-United-Kingdom/

I had put these on my Honda Legend when the Xenon bulb driver side was flickering http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Philips-Xenon-X-treme-Vision-D2S-Xenon-HID-Car-Headlight-Bulb-Single-Lamp-/262090277719?hash=item3d05cc4357:g:uJoAAOSwA4dWH62V They were brilliant performers, I personally always go Philips when I need to install headlight bulbs. :) I had managed to get a pair for £65 back in May,

I had used for my Honda Legend when I needed to replace the Xenon flickering lights with a pair of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Philips-Xenon-X-treme-Vision-D2S-Xenon-HID-Car-Headlight-Bulb-Single-Lamp-/262090277719?hash=item3d05cc4357:g:uJoAAOSwA4dWH62V I managed to find them back in May 2 for £65 the pair and they had brilliant performance. I always go for Philips bulbs on my cars.

Hello guys, Back in Lexus ownership, I picked up a 450h SE-L (2006) from Birmingham area, I knew the car has a Check Hybrid problem, so the price was negotiated accordingly. Other than that the car is in a near pristine condition and with 125K miles on the clock. Only other thing that I found out tonight is the lights are shocking.... candle lights are brights and I think the AFS is not working. I assume one of the previous oweners have replaced the bulbs with cheapo ... eBay ones. I drove the car about 300 miles (back home) and I was surprised with the performance it is fassttt, imagine how fast it will be with a full working battery. Lights on the dashboard are Check Hybrid System, VSC, EML, Brakes, Check EBC I cleared the codes twice on my trip back but they reappear. And twice when the car was moving slow enough I lost totally control of throttle... like it had stalled. Anywho.. I attach all the fault codes as appeared on each scan I had done. Seems to be cells 8 and 9 causing the issue. Is there a guide on how to access the battery on the 450h. I did access my Prius to sort out the Hybrid fan last year, but seem to be way more tutorials etc for Prius than Lexus's :( Cheers Vasilis

I have only bought a GS450h yesterday... back into Lexus ownership :) going to pick it up today. I know the car has a Check Hybrid error displayed and EML light on. So I am heading there with my TIS computer to do a scan and see what codes it comes up with. Judging by the age (56 plate) and mileage 125K , seems very possible there might be the issue with the bearings. But will know better once I get there later today. Last MOT in July was OK, no faults etc and this was 600 miles ago. So the error just came up not long ago. I am ordering the bearings just in case :) as the cost is small

Hi Steve, I just got the car diagnosed and now I have an issue with the ABS ring on the other end (passenger side rear). Instead of having the driveshaft replaced. I thought I best order the ring only. I called them to make sure the one's listed were the right for the car. And they said they only do the front ones. The rears are not supplied by them. It is dealer only. And dealer as we know.. they do not supply them full stop! Does anyone know are the front rings? the same as the rears?

Hello guys At last I took on replacing the rear ABS ring from the driver rear side. Everywhere I was reading it was mentioned that the ring is not replaceable and the driveshaft has to be purchased! Now that I took everything apart I am a bit annoyed to say the least! as the rings are removable with not much effort at all. Once the driveshaft is out the ring slides out. The hub was "swollen from rust" on the inside pushing the "tin" shield on the ring and eating it away. As you can see on the pictures there is nothing left from the "teeth on the ring". Now does anyone know where to get those rings? No need to ask Lexus as they are next to useless when asking parts... they say to buy the complete assembly. (Sorry I have a personal dislike to my local canterbury dealer as they have been useless when I needed them 3 times (once for Lexus and once for Toyota) and I ended up to the customer services telephone line, shouting my head out lol ... and filing official complaints). This is the old ring This is the shield where the ring was sitting in, had to bend it as I had to take it out. It is not in the hub anymore... New replacement driveshaft This is the old driveshaft with the "eaten" ring

When I had my IS300 SportCross, there is a "well known" issue mostly in US market of difficulty starting in the cold weather. However when I was looking this noone knew the solution. .. and was understood to be one of the "things you had to live with" an example of the many posts (http://my.is/forums/f122/2002-is300-cold-start-problems-381398/)

Well after I bought my Prius in August, I got it from an auction and must have been the cheapest 2004 Prius in the country... (with 136000 miles and two owners from new, not used as a taxi no... lol) Full Service history too but I don't think it matters as even if they had service history, I do not think the maintenance touches the hybrid components. My Prius had a Hybrid fault at the point of sale, so I got it at the right price... thinking I will change battery pack etc. I invested to a miniVCI for my laptop and it has been a life saver. It turned out the battery had no fault nor the hubrid system. The problem was with the hybrid battery fan not coming on... after so much poking around. I found it was a totally corroded plug joining 5 wires, one of them was the command wire from the Hybrid ECU to the Fan to tell it to come on or off and what speed. That plug is on the totally otherside of the boot in the wiring loom. And it got so corroded because there was a hairline crack on the roofline above the boot lid (known fault of Prius) and allowed rain water to sip in the boot area. All in all it cost me £4.50 bought a generic plug replacement from Halfords fitted it and my Prius has been going strong for the last few months and already done 11.000 miles in it. It still has the original battery pack and 145.000 on the clock at the moment. The cars are not so much unreliable, I am confident to say it is lack of knowledge of the garage to locate the correct problem, and patching the problem with a "in thinking correct solution" might cause a bigger problem. Unfortunatelly when the Hybrid Fault comes in the dash ... it can be a big number of things. I was looking for replacement Hybrid Battery cooling fans, relays etc... and I was looking in totally the wrong direction. Only when I read the LAST option of the Toyota troubleshooting about the inspection of wiring loom. And then I seen the broken cable which it was exactly on the opposite side of the boot where the error codes were pointing me to. I do still want to buy a Lexus GS450h and replace my currect Audi A6 ('05) so maybe I will do it in the beginning of the 2016.

well took the car to another garage to check along with a friend mechanic. Both could not find anything wrong with the car or any movement. They then took the car to an MOT station where they had the "stress" machine, where it would move the wheels around and see any movement there. And ... nope everything totally solid no slack or movement. The car has sailed through the MOT the next morning. It just makes you worried.... seeing that you cannot even trust the first opinion you get on one car even from MOT's

Hello guys, The RX400h has failed its MOT with the following refusal note (2007 RX400h with 69.000 miles) Steering rack insecure mounting bushes (2.2.B.1a) The garage says that Lexus does not supply the bushes and only the whole part (steering rack) for £1,900.00. I found it totally ridiculous to say the least to replace the whole steering rack, just for a bush!? Has anyone experienced this before? Can I not find a company that will make me a custom bush? is not easy to replace? Any advice will be really appeciated. Cheers Vasilis
