  1. Nice pics KentIS300 :)

slightly off topic and just out of curiosity: do the Sportcross and saloon models share the same rear door?

nope the rear door (front also) is not the same as u can compare the saloon with the sportcross. obviously bought a set of is300 wind deflector totally off angle and had to return for the right ones :geek:

well that answers our question then .. ooppss found it the hard way :(

  2. well judging my last year's experience of my sportcross and snow... eehhm this year especially now it is lowered it stays in the drive covered lol

I left the Xantia outside ... it will be handy to raise the suspension and let the low torque HDI ... do the job oohh and yes! front wheel drive haha. That will get me to work at least.

And I have to say here sod's law!!!! lol everytime I book a holiday it decided to get like that and mess with my flights!! every year :( lets hope it gets better by next Thu :(

  3. I only painted my calipers red a couple of months ago when I did the lowering ...

and I had to justify the cost of paint to paint them again etc ... if I got new ones.

But to be honest once I removed them and looked at the pistons etc ... I don't see the point of buying a new one or refurbised one... as after someone finish with cleaning the innards ... they looks as good as new. I believe the failure of the rubber is causing the whole stick problem on the pins and on the pistons.

Ofcourse by refurbing them your self... or buy a used one there is a problem which is worth concidering, one of my pistons was pitted no just surface rust so that one is likely to fail sooner than the other lot. But at least I am aware.

Need to see if they sell new parts for calipers etc :) :) lol ie one piston or one pin if needed as this brings the cost down.

I am put off Toyota's and Lexus's over the year ... I know I nag and I always buy them lol .... but they have major issues with the calipers that other manufacturers don't seem to have :( :(

  4. I got my front caliper seized badly last week ... enough to see my smoke on the rear car's headlights! lol lol

so now I have a warped disk too (only 600miles done on the front pair) as I replaced them when I fitted the lowering springs!

As many say I would not trust the second hand one's

But I got the kit to refurb mine instead ... £16 per wheel and fine sanding paper and a couple of more things....

3 hours took in total for both front calipers and the car now brakes and runs smooth!

link of the kit I used is http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261131168750?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

  5. I must admit that the K&N is ssssoooo addictive indeed! just a pain to clean every now and then :(

Usually a piggy back ECU ... add on from what I have been reading connects between a couple of sensors plugs and the ECU... so it tricks the ECU with values. But never seen an instruction manual for it.

  6. .

    lol

The whole problem and principle of this arguement... is determining reality posts and ... wanna be posts.

Putting something we would like our car to be ...at some point of its life... or even in fantasy, does not make it reality for new owners that seek honest answers about their cars.

I think this is how the debate has started, just an arguement amongst reality and fantasy. :) :)

  7. Have you tried with lights on ... and pull the windscreen washer once... that should wash the lights as well for the first pull. It does not do it again until the car is switched off and on again.

If that works ... I would think the switch it self has a problem...

if it does not work either was ... then maybe a fuse?
