  1. Mel what’s the underside like at the back....surface corrosion can be bad on boot floor and suspension areas
  2. Great looking car and It would seem it’s has a new caring owner .....look forward to reading about the other jobs you have planned Silver button below the radio but above the ashtray should shut the radio panel. Side note....if the centre gearshift panel has been removed the switch wiring may have been pulled out ! easy to check ....lift centre armrest ....remove switch for heated seats...get fingers under wood panel and carefully lift up .....check wiring plug is well pushed in and no wires hanging out
  3. I have the A119 in my Lexus SC430 and the A118 In my Sprinter van...lots of screen space in the van for the plastic cable tidy and to be honest I think a better unit .
  4. I have the same dashcam but made by viofo A119 does the job and discreet .
  5. You may need to take the centre console out and inspect for any extra wiring left in place and see if it can be removed . sounds a big job but it’s not ....lift centre glove box lid get fingers under the heated seat control lift out and unplug, then get fingers under the end of the center console and lift up, have a look for and wiring that doesn’t look original .
  6. Not a bad price for a Lexus item .....money well spent over looking at that hole eveytime you go out to the car
  7. Sounds like you have it all in hand or are at least working through it Just an option on the reflector ...you could convert to the USA spec illuminate white side marks .... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JDM-Toyota-2006-13-Lexus-IS250-IS350-SC430-Clear-Side-Marker-Lenses-Genuine-SET-/352129824825?epid=657924731&hash=item51fc92b839:g:hSgAAOSwBiRZcrTl
  8. No they fold as a pair so not that but they are switchable left and right
  9. Hello Keith it's not uncommon for the SC430 to have a security tracker fitted and that runs 24/7, it will drain the battery after a week or so , also the battery back up in the alarm on older models will corrosion and fail ....also causing a battery drain. Tracker tended to be fitted i the boot but that requires a full strip out of all the boot panels . Does you alarm work ? Also does the alarm go off if the battery is disconnected ( I'm sure this will show up if the battery back up is working ). If unsure time to get an auto electrician to take a look. with your missing front reflector you could buy one from any country that has eBay .....or get a price from Lexus it might be reasonable
  10. As you know the hand book doesn't list the fuses so finding photos on google is the key, both drivers and passenger side kick panels ( down by your feet ) fuse 41 and 42 seem to be for powering mirrors / power windows/ gefogger etc . If its just one mirror it could be a poor connection in the wiring plug in the door .
  11. It's not uncommon for the unit in the boot to give up the ghost, if you buy a secondhand one you want to see it working first and it comes with a working disc
  12. LEXUS UK recall checker........ https://forms.toyota.co.uk/lexus-recall-checker
  13. Not used this company myself but it's an option all the same ...... http://www.satnavdvd.co.uk/lexus-25-c.asp
  14. Reading up on the Hirschmann not sure it's universal sadly.. https://www.raysmith.co.uk/hirschmann-auta2050 you may have to go with an eBay universal jobbie ?
  15. Two brands stand out from the rest... Hirschmann and Beru from years ago and a new kid on the block Celsus but unsure which one would have the correct angled fitting...unless you can use the orginal bit ? Hirschmann would be my choice but do make sure it come with pleanty of mounting fitting
  16. Most of the 3 button keys sold on eBay will do the job but from past experience the buttons are a little more recessed than the genuine item but still work fine
  17. Duncan maybe an aftermarket aerial could be the answer a few good brands out there
  18. This is a 2006 headlamp levelling unit found on the front suspension .....
  19. The dinner plate trims are very unloved but you need to keep a set back if the car ever gets classic status, the 2003/2004 star trims look much better and can be purchased from the States . the facelift alloys 2006-2009 are popular but expensive to buy (£500 a set ) yet do look the best to my mind .
  20. Few other photo's on this eBay listing ....could well fit but with one screw recessed... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-SC-SC430-2001-2005-REAR-BACK-BUMPER-LEFT-PASSENGER-SIDE-RED-FOG-LIGHT-/282163328287?hash=item41b23eb51f:g:ANQAAOSwSlBYuSRA Happy to try a pair for you
  21. Hello Richard I took my lenses off last year to polish them up as they had faded, did take a photo and the first observation is the screw mounting holes are just below the lence face and doesn't have one deep recessed screw as on one side as in the Gen 7 items . See photo....
