  1. Not all bad..gives us a chance to see all the photos still 😉 Difficult to find fault with the car, other than giving the headlamps a polish 👍🏻 Did the guy give you the car cover and original wheels in the deal ?
  2. Only a guess, a double ended screwdriver in the slot on the left, and I’m sure the locking wheel nut box fits in the space over the Allan key . side note….Allan key is used to manually release the roof locking mechanism.
  3. Welcome to the forum Paul, I’m over Bromley way but sadly don’t have a club car these days . If you have any questions big or small just ask 👍🏻 Did you have to travel far to collect it ?. I like to look up SC430 models that catch my eye on Auto Trader and checked your cars mot history just a few days ago and it was very good, so seems you’ve bought yourself a "keeper"😉 your car is an unusual colour combination yet one that I like , bet you’ll never see another 😉
  4. Think if the vehicle is new to you then get the job done for peace of mind …..well unless you have a bill of sale from Lexus to say it’s been done .
  5. Quick look around Google w/pump and t/belt at Lexus is going to be north of £500 !
  6. I like black on black but it is an acquired taste, some say difficult to keep clean and interior seems dark and claustrophobic. The Black interiors always seem to wear better condition than the Rutland cream option. Can’t see much wrong in the photos, would like to see headlamps in bright sunlight to see if they are faded. Exhaust tail pipes have been changed, this sometimes happens if the old ones have corroded off, I would recommend a good look underneath to check for rust to brakes and suspension. £200 for Lexus w/pump and timing belt ! Think every SC430 owner up and down the country will be queueing up at that dealership 😉😉
  7. Polishing work well on the pre-facelift SC430 headlamp but the later model,It has a different type of lens material and the sun breaks down deep into the plastic, not just on the surface . If spending that sort of money at a main dealer, they need to be replaced 👍🏻
  8. Changes from the pre-facelift model… sequential 6 speed gearbox updated alloys updated bumper and grill updated headlamps phone conductivity updated reverse lamp lens updated rear lights fluorescent Speedo gauges Different wing indicators that’s all I can think of at the moment👍🏻 observations about your possible purchase .. Headlamps have been bleached by the sun , they will not polish out, would insist on new headlamps fitted as they will look yellow under direct sunlight . yet will look acceptable on an overcast day….new headlamps are around £1300 the pair !
  9. Phone buttons are behind the steering wheel volume controls . See here..
  10. Good news 👍🏻 Two possible causes spring to mind…if the horn has its own relay in the fuse box under the bonnet, it could be sticking or have moisture in it …or underside of fuse box corroded . Then the spiral cable behind the steering wheel is also an outside chance but that tends to stop the horn wiring altogether.
  11. Nothing stopping you now you have the tools for the job 👍🏻 Next question…..do the driveshaft come off the vehicle without dismantling the brake hub ?
  12. The wires just pull off the horn connections , horns are mounted in east reach behind the front grill.
  13. What I like about the USA workshop manuals is the diagrams of suspension/brakes, they have the torque setting for each nut and bolt listed 👍🏻
  14. I would say by the high torque setting they are both conventional right hand thread. Must state it’s very important to do them up to the correct setting . as they say …you can’t do the job without the tools ! invest in a torque wrench from Halfords ,one of their professional range. im a retired mechanic and purchased both high and low range Halfords professional torque wrenches, they have served me well . Yes you could mark the nut and count the turns but not very accurate . Think the trade term was do up FT ! F**king tight 😉😉 …or once job is finished, leave hub cap trims off and ask a local garage to torque the driveshaft nuts up for you…£20 drink has to be better that £150 of new torque wrenches 👍🏻
  15. Roy the A pillar trim has two pop clips and a 10mm nut, sadly the nut is on the inside of the pillar under the interior trim . That will be plastic A pillar off and the full trim off behind the sun visors . Sadly when windscreens are replaced, some fitters are unfamiliar with how to strip out the trim, this could by why your trim is a bad fit ☹️
  16. Richard once you have removed the driveshaft and you are looking at the inside end of brake hub, the problem is the reluctor rings wear due to the stainless steel guard ring pressed into the hub… its being pushed down by excessive rust build up . You must take this ring off or your new driveshafts will be damaged within weeks of fitting them. See photo of damaged ring.
  17. Just have a look through the facelift SC430 sales brochure and no mention of parking sensors , so would say front and rear sensors are a dealer fit option 👍🏻
  18. Was that the blue SC from the Sidcup dealer ?
  19. Always used Colinite on my previous SC430’s, needs a bit of work to remove but worth it for the results 👍🏻
  20. Looks just fine and it takes the age away from the car 👍🏻
  21. I know that Lexus dealer , use to take my last SC430 there 👍🏻 As to which steering lock device , go for the Stop lock Pro . I had one on both of my previous SC’s...make sure it’s the Pro as it’s insurance approved, (Cat 3).
  22. Best place for personalised registrations is direct from the DVLA …… https://dvlaregistrations.dvla.gov.uk/
  23. Al a member of the LOC for over 10 years …and this is you first post..that’s a long time lurking in the shadows 😳😳
