  1. Very good order underneath Neil 👍🏻 it’s not a minter so will need a little love. It went into Lexus in 2021 and came out with a 4K bill ! Rear reluctor ring done by replacing the whole driveshafts x 2 😳 rear shock absorber . Plus brakes all round and front lower ball joints,so that all most of the suspect stuff done. I’ve got Error 4 on the `CD so will remove and strip that down (do you still have your old unit if I need a plan B ? )😉 Scuff low on the n/s sill..need to be on the floor to see it..like I was ! could all be jobs for next spring 👍🏻
  2. Have two other Toyota’s in the household.
  3. This will be my third SC 👍🏻👍🏻
  4. Have been looking in from the sidelines at you guys owning SC430’s, and it was always on the cards that I would buy another when the time was right. Have been studying all the SC’s for sale this year, and getting an idea on what sell and what doesn’t. The window to buy a facelift model with lower road-tax gets smaller all the time, so decided to go with a later model if the price was right. Picked up a mid 2007 yesterday in Windsor blue with Rutland interior, 59k on the clock, some history but with a few jobs to do 👍🏻
  5. I didn’t get on with the app the QR code suggested, I went for this one 👍🏻
  6. Agree they are very accurate , I’ve had one on my car for around 3 years.
  7. It was all down to the dead battery …you just need to be sure the charger is working ok.
  8. I went over to NOCO after the CTEK let me down …excellent bit of kit 👍🏻
  9. Can I ask if the display lights come up on the CTEK and it’s working okay ? I ask as I bought a high end CTEK charger and it just made it past the warrant before packing up ☹️
  10. You still got that ?……thought you would be onto the next project 😜
  11. This is from the facelift sales brochure…
  12. As a young driver I had the opportunity to buy a black Ford cortina 1600E…dad said it was too fast….so it never happened 🙁
  13. The back plate for the handbrake shoes are common for rubbing on the back of the brake disc.(it’s an age/ wear thing) Remove Caliper and disc, grind/file away the lip at the bottom of the backplate..it will be shiny where it’s been rubbing .
  14. Lexus would be able to tell you any servicing done by their dealerships…pop into your local one and ask them.
  15. This will be the closest colour match you are after .. KALAHARI SAND (paint code 4S7) https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202308231119312
  16. Job well done 👍🏻 I’ve done it to both my previous SC using the Rutland leather dye..only observation was it was very unslippy afterwards ..had to apply a conditioner to help .
  17. Restoration without compromise……well done 😎
  18. All the SC430 range 2001-2010 are ULEZ compliant 👍🏻👍🏻
  19. Down here in London all sc430’s meet the ULEZ requirements . done a check on a 2001 model, then a 2009 model and both met the regulations. All SC430’s regardless of age meet Euro4 regs 👍🏻 Just checked the 2001 and 2009 cars on the Scottish LEZ site and one passed.. one failed….well that totality wrong if they all meet Euro 4 regs ……time to move south me thinks !! 😉
  20. So working from your code P0051…=BANK 2 SENSOR 1….. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324989376687 ScrewFix oxygen sensor sockets….. https://www.screwfix.com/p/hilka-pro-craft-oxygen-sensor-wrench/2369r
  21. If you had bought one from Lexus..it would will be a DENSO product inside the box .
  22. Please re-read my post above ..code P0051 is front manifold not rear floor area sensors . As to sensors..only buy DENSO and with plug connected fitted . DENSO is the factory brand used by Toyota/Lexus.
  23. Twist wheel trims currently on EBay from the States …. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233532928831
  24. Okay working from the information you’ve given above Neil, The P0051 Lexus code is oxygen sensor heater control circuit low..bank 2 sensor 1. That sensor is in the manifold on the drivers side …NOT lower down under the floor . I’ve down both front manifold sensors on a previous SC430….first off get the dedicated manifold o2 sockets from ScrewFix . Passanger sensor is easy ..very accessible. Now drivers side sensor is a **** to do ! getting sensor off is a little more tricky with steering column shaft in the way but the wiring harness plug is almost impossible to get out without hands like an monkey ! It’s tight to the engine block and is better done on a workshop ramp…i done mine laying on my back on the drive .
