Night check of the new LED bulbs…very impressed .

A guy on YouTube done a write up, there is a 10mm bolt under the wing liner, once undo that separates the bumper corner from the body. Once free, there is just enough room to get your hand in and unclip the orange reflector .

Fitted a replacement boot trim today and noticed same dampness to the boot lid trim….it’s common for the high level brake light to leak, so stripped it off and resealed around the cable and mounting studs.

Could be as simple as rear shock absorbers have been replaced, the trim had to come out to do that. Audio amp and dvd drive also live under the floor area .

Having been looking for around a year before I bought mine last month, this price seems very good..sadly higher roadtax but I swallowed that with mine as the price was right .

That is a beautiful looking example and seems well presented, the black leather can be a blessing as it’s always looks immaculate. I’m now on my 3rd cream leather example and need to attend to it with some leather dye, if suffers easy from jeans and other clothing marking it . All I can find on a free history check with this grey one is mileage discrepancy in 2010. lts got to be worth a look that close to you 👍🏻

Guess it’s the old story…you’re only as good as the tools you use 😮 as a youngster I would of had cheap and cheerful….now buy the best I can and put safety first 👍🏻 Used trolley jacks and axle stand in my motor trader days …yet I have see all too often, cars on bricks, pallets etc …or a guy working under a car with just a Jack 😳 Sadly also heard about some injuries when a jack collapses ☹️☹️

I bought it in 2016…think it was about £90.00 then 😮 i wanted the red twin hydraulic pump action one but was out of my reach.

Max Height of Jack is 370mm, then I can use one or two 100mm blacks of wood to increase height …then resettle on axle stands again . https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke-ctj1250ac-125-tonne-aluminium-trolley-j/ jack goes easy under SC430, with little pumps until it starts to lift, then large larger pumps to get required height.

Once on stands I can add one or two blocks of wood, then readjust the axle stand height . The height has been good enough to do service, suspension, brake work and also to paint/ spray suspension and floor. I lay on large pieces of cardboard so don’t have to include the thickness of a crawler board, when jacking up .

I’ve been using a 1.25 ton alloy Jack on all my Lexus cars over the last fews years. why 1.25 ton…well I’m only jacking one end of the car at a time, so no need for a jack capable of lifting the whole car . It’s only used to Jack vehicle up, as I ALWAYS put quick release axle stands under the vehicle…however big or small the job.

Taxed the SC at the start of November , despite the poor weather I just had to go out in it. Takes me back 4 years since my last one , total silence on one extreme and a beautiful sounding sound system on the other . I’ve missed the performance have been driving a 2.0 RAV4…got a few photos between the showers .
