  1. Once cut the finished edge looks just fine , no need for a finishing trim.
  2. It’s made from a plastic honeycone so cuts easy with a jigsaw, I made a cardboard temple first, then cut around it.
  3. Now you could cut the grey boot mat to fit or get a spare one and cut that …..or sheet 8mm ply and cover in grey cloth trim 👍🏻
  4. The XK has some nice lines to the bodywork, sadly not a real Jag if it’s not British Racing Green 😛😉😉
  5. Both registered the same day 07 March 2008 👍🏻👍🏻 Dealer salesman had a good bonus if he sold two that month 😉
  6. May clean the connections on my control box and see if it springs into life .
  7. Could have been sold from the same dealer 👍🏻 price is a bit steep for a 135k car ☹️
  8. In my younger days I mot’ed 1000’s of cars over 20 year period and surface corrosion was popular on many of them, although seemed worse on Japanese cars . Rusty suspension can look terrible to the eye yet still does what it’s supposed to do . Used spring can be purchase from a guy on the Facebook group, I’m sure he has some with gloss paint on them still . Or aftermarket shock/spring combination £600/700 mark . i just have a feeling this car will have a rusty underside due to age and mileage …Gary needs to go have a look and give it a poke about 👍🏻 I’d also have reservations about the selling garage also being a mot station …or maybe I should just see the best in everyone 🤔😉😉
  9. From past experience the exhaust shield becomes loose as the corrosion around the mounting bolt becomes bigger than the bolt head . Fitting a penny washer fixes the problem .
  10. The wheels on this car caught my eye. See to be a Pearl silver 😎 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/315115848980
  11. Worth a look for sure. Corrosion has been mentioned on several of the previous mot’s ..springs, exhaust tailpipes, exhaust heat shield ..so a good look underneath is essential 👍🏻
  12. Mine don’t work either and as they are all dealer fit, guess 15 years on they had their life expectancy. I have another set to go in, just working out if I can pull the new wiring through, taping it to the old wiring. Failing that it’s bumper off ☹️ if Lexus used the same company it will be a Scorpion SPS9040 Sensor kit, did take the unit apart but no moisture or corrosion inside . Unit can be found behind the grey trim o/s rear of boot 👍🏻
  13. So what happened about buyers queuing around the block to buy it ? So you’ve let it go then ?
  14. Maybe I’ve not being paying attention but was this car not up for £6995 last week 🤔 http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202401165598049
  15. It is cheap but panel gaps are poor..boot to bumper line gets wider. Lamp/reflector gaps n/s poor.
  16. Sorry washing my hair on what ever day you had in mind ! 😉😉
  17. I’ll inspect the front end soon… if the weather stays on my side . Can believe the price of Dinitrol ..one can £15.00 …then found a 3 x can deal on Amazon £29.95 😎😎 You never know what you’ve bought until you’ve had a good poke about underneath 👍🏻
  18. Done all can do on the top of the car, now it’s time to get down and get under ! Put it on stands and had a good look and poke about …..conclusion very pleased with the underside😎 . Put FERTAN rust treatment on some suspect areas I could reach, then a mix of gloss black spray and DINITROL 4941..although that was short lived as the Dinitrol can has run out ☹️ Put some silver grease on the exhaust joint just to hold the rust at bay. Tank shield needed a little rust treatment but just surface . Nice to see some of the work Lexus done defore I bought it ..two new driveshaft to fix the reluctor ring problem. Right let’s get some more Dinitrol ordered 👍🏻
  19. Someone sent this to me the other day, because of the mileage 😮😮😉 https://www.carexporters.co.uk/usedcars/lexus/sc430/lexus-sc-430-4-3-6080.html?au_advert_id=36917515&au_car_id=19714315&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=autouncle_web
  20. Guy on the old LW forum defected to one of them, never heard from him again 😮
  21. These cars wear out tyres on the inner edges on the front, of the dozens of mot history checks I’ve done on these cars over the years , it’s the number one common fault. whats also common from my days in the motor trade is tyres are swapped front to rear to get more wear out of them . So a worn pair on the front could have been moved to the back.
  22. Classic dealer pitter patter…."customers queuing around the corner to buy it " 😁😁 That o/s headlamp bothers me, to discoloured to be polished , did track down a used one for £400 +p&p….sadly it all adds to the price of the car ☹️
  23. Facelift for under 5k has to be worth a look, although it’s not worth spending much on .
  24. The Brown 57 plate had 135k on the clock and that was priced at £6995….makes this one look a bit expensive ☹️
