Unfortunately, I have no information on that. Maintenance book reports regular service every 2 years but no details on what has been done. Checked the timing belt and didn’t look cracked or brittle.
Can a mechanic get an idea by just inspecting the timing belt to understand? But yeah, I guess I’ll get it fully serviced asap. I’ll keep you informed!
Thanks as always!
I would say at least get the timing belt changed, plus the fan belt and get the plugs checked .

Congratulations on your purchase 👏🏻👏🏻
The two things you mention….could be the spark plugs or the power pack that goes onto the plugs (very common for them to break down..not all of them just one or two).
Noise from engine sounds like the fan belt (multi vee belt), get that replaced first and see if the noise goes away .
Jobs to look at ….has the timing belt and water pump been replaced ?
Guess a full service should uncover any problems .

Congratulations on your purchased, you’ll love every drive in the SC430 👍🏻
To be honest I wouldn’t spend any time on the satnav its next to useless when its working, and the youngest DVD update disc in a 2017. So would still be out of date.
Take the DVD disc out just to see how old it is ,in the boot pull grey flap out, black switch left hand side ..slip it sideways and press…disc should come out .
A £20 max spend on a pirate copy DVD sat/nav disc off eBay will let you know if it’s got any life left in the unit 👍🏻

Stands at £3700 with a few hours to go.
That’s disappointingly low with a few hours to go , can’t see it making another 6k ☹️
…I say that now £5500 👍🏻

Newly listed and rather steep on price …although it’s a wonderful colour 😉
Clearly never lifted the bonnet when cleaning the car 😮

Thanks @Bob King. So I will replace the spark plugs next year then.
Spark Plugs are good for 60k between changes I believe.

Camel... I was thinking more digestive biscuit 😉

Top plastic engine cover and air filter box has to come off to do the spark plugs, easy to do at a later date.

I had read prior it’s up to an 8hr job for an experienced mechanic …… the labour charge might need rethinking !
And the Radiator replacement every 100k miles / 10 years possibly 🤔
Good luck
Malc
8hrs 😮…does that include dinner and tea breaks 😉
Probably a 4-5 hr job for someone who does them regular .

This SC430 looks very clean and tidy, be interested to see what it makes at the end of the auction .

If you’re doing the job just once, then I think you could add crankshaft and camshaft oil seals 👍🏻

Turns out my friend next door knows a man with ramp. Awaiting a call to use it.
Take same rags with you just in case your car is still dripping 👍🏻

Immaculate Bob. I am so looking forward to inheriting it in the fullness of time. 😄
Think its 50/50 who’s going to see who out first 😁😁

I’ve copied all the photos and brightened them up, it’s seems a fair job, liners shown have been off, rust proof treatment applied (grey/blue stuff).
Underseal (brown stuff) seems to have been well applied.
so seeing the photos not much to complain about.
That just leaves the 2nd opinion from the mot garage.

Congratulations on your purchase, the StopLock Pro is a good visual deterrent.
Yes it could be cut off with a grinder but hopefully the thieves would look for an easier target 👍🏻
