I agree, the App does everything you say very well and that is all I require of it. It can do more, but to me those options are not relevant.

Gen 1 is 300h, Gen 2 is 350h, which according to all the blurb is not eligible for the tracker, so I am still confused as to why some Gen 2’s are getting them As yet I have not heard of any Gen2 attempted thefts so maybe the crim’s know they are protected, unless I have missed that of course 🤔

I used to do map updates on my Prius by USB, but I will not bother updating the factory unit now as having CarPlay I will just use Apple Maps.

Exactly my thoughts, it even says so in the Press release Toyota/Lexus emailed to me, so I am just confused as to why some Gen 2’s are having them fitted.

Had reply back from my dealer and they said my car (2024 350h) is not eligible for the tracker, so at least I know. Does seem odd that some 350/450’s are getting them fitted… maybe it’s by production date? Personally I thought all Gen 2’s had the latest safety gear, but maybe not ….

I find I always need to manually turn on auto headlights in fog in all the cars I have owned. Although there may be poor visibility, the sky can still be quite bright and therefore not turn on the headlights. In fog it’s just not worth taking a chance and I always turn them on myself, the same with rain too. Safely is so important and sometimes a human knows best.

I used to have a Gen 4 Prius before my NX which I believe had the same 4th Gen Hybrid system as the 250h and never had any trouble putting it in EV mode first thing in the morning, unless the battery was below three bars. I would never use it for driving off silently as I would let the car do that itself, but use it just when I wanted to get the car out of the garage without the ICE starting. I wonder what is different with the UX 🤔

Interesting, I don't have any trouble with my NX, in fact I used it this morning as I wanted to take the car out of the garage to wash it.

I am with Admiral Gold too and they were the best by quite a margin, but still gave good solid cover.

I test drove a BZ4X before I decided on an NX and that had the 360 cameras which worked very well. Unfortunately to get the 360 Cameras on the NX meant I had to get Premium Plus which also gives 20 inch wheels which is something I definitely did not want, so stuck with the Premium. As others have said, you do get a very wide view on the rear camera, which you can make it even wider if you press the button on the screen, but I find its too wide for my liking.

Agreed, also when I changed my mind and decided to have mine coated (Gen-3), my car was delayed as the company that does the ceramic coating had to strip the car of the existing polish that had been applied, this is to ensure it adheres correctly. I didn’t realise that had to be done, but after talking to the coating guys I am a lot more enlightened than I was.

When I had a charging point installed in my detached garage in my previous house back in 2015 when I had a Zoe, the charge point surveyor basically condemned the garage wiring. He said they only add sufficient wiring for a light and one double socket, not a 7KW charger. The original wiring from 1995 was also poorly installed. In the end I had to get an electrician to add a new supply sorted before the charge point could be fitted. They ran a new mini consumer unit to the garage via a heavy duty dedicated armoured supply cable from the main supply box. I also had to have the main house fuse upgraded from 60A to 100A which was done FOC by our electricity supplier. Bottom line, personally I wouldn’t trust coming off your existing garage supply.

When I connect my smart charger to my NX whilst on extended holidays, I use a bolt near the suspension turret and it works fine for me. As a test, I used a meter to test the voltage using the bolt I chose and compared it to the position they show in the manual and it was the same and it has worked perfectly. Difficult to see in your photo, but it looks like you have a few close points to choose from.

I had three MG Metros in my youth and I loved them all. My brand new D registered one had a factory roof and never leaked once 😃 My early 1983 with Black Seats was my favourite though!

Strange, as the ones they used and were selling plugged into the ODB port under the dashboard. Around £90 if I remember correctly. I wonder if yours also came with an ODB connector, but they decided to use the direct to battery option?

It could be an Americanism as I know they used to use the term Moonroof for a 'normal' sunroof.

You could just put the solar panel on your dash. I know the windows will suck up some of the UV, but it should get enough to keep the battery topped up. That is what my Dealer was doing with their cars during lockdown.

I found when I first got my NX this used to happen, but after a week or so it settled down and has been fine ever since.

I tried Adrian Flux too and they were over double the highest quote. I ended up going with Admiral Gold at only around £100 more than my last years premium on my Prius, so pretty happy. Mine is a 350h though and I live in Hampshire.

Not wanting to state the obvious, but have they fitted the rear camera? I only had the front one fitted and the app works fine from the times I have used it. Mainly to disable the awful startup/shutdown racket.

Yes same for Lexus, just login to your profile on Lexus website and visit the e-store. I have just done it now, but there was nothing for me to download, it just showed me what I currently have. I have LinkPro with the larger screen, (not sure what you have) and I believe it’s a different system to the smaller screen models. From what I remember, the smaller screen is cloud based and the larger screen has built in maps. I’m sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.
