stepppy replied to stepppy's topic in Lexus LBX Owners Club - The All-New Lexus LBX
Looks like Poland are having their own previews too Anyone heard of anything like this from their dealers? -
Lexus to unveil the all-new LBX

I agree, its too soon to jump on the EV bandwagon. When everyone is forced to produce electric cars and battery tech is much improved, then maybe it will be the way to go. -
Lexus to unveil the all-new LBX
stepppy replied to Lexus Owners Club's topic in Lexus LBX Owners Club - The All-New Lexus LBX
The LBX has a 2cm longer wheelbase than the Yaris Cross and from what I have seen in the various videos online there is a bit more rear legroom. Not too much of an issue for us as the back seat of my Prius has probably been used less than half a dozen times in 6 years 😁 -
Not sure if we have any members from Ireland, but I noticed this on their website. “The LBX will be available to preview on selected dates between July 12th to 20th at Lexus Dealers. Sign up or contact your dealer for more details.” No mention of this on the UK site and my local dealer want aware of any previews the last time I spoke to them. Maybe some of the previews will find their way onto the web….

I was too fast to reply 😄 just the answer I was looking for and hoped that’s what the ‘Design’ part meant 😀

I am referring to the new “F Sport Design” trim that was introduced with the MY23 changes. The pure F Sport has tuned suspension and AVS.
-
The itch I have for the UX has come back, especially after seeing some good deals for factory orders of the F Sport Design. My question is, does that model have the same suspension setup as all the other non F Sport models e.g. Takumi. I know the full F Sport has AVS, but I can’t see anything relating to the F Sport Design suspension even in the official Lexus press release. Thanks

Americans do seem to be rather pro low mileage oil changes and of course tyre rotations which isn’t part of UK service schedules as far as I know. I have always been happy with sticking to the schedules the manufacturer recommends.

Lexus to unveil the all-new LBX
stepppy replied to Lexus Owners Club's topic in Lexus LBX Owners Club - The All-New Lexus LBX
After my initial impressions, the more I look at the numerous videos on YouTube, the more the LBX is growing on me. My head has been turned by the new Volvo EX30, but the interior of that looks a bit Fischer Price, whereas the LBX interior is stunning. Also, I would be nervous of leaving the Toyota/Lexus reliability/build quality bubble. Looking forward to seeing them both in the metal to work out if they are big enough or just that little bit too small. It seems that they both have boot capacities that are smaller than the UX, but they both 'look' bigger. If neither are suitable, I will just hang on for the 2nd Gen UX in however many years 🤔 -

Yes, but they have given it a slightly longer wheelbase and shorter overhangs. -

I was looking forward to this, but looking at the videos on YouTube this morning I feel quite underwhelmed. Looks too car like and quite bland I think, especially around the rear three quarter, but the interior is lovely. Maybe it will look better in the metal... Think I will be hanging on the for next generation UX whenever that may be. -
Have you not seen these? UX Puddle lights They list as being compatible with the UX. They look like they are general Lexus/Toyota fitment as they look the same as I had in my Prius... Toyota logo of course 😆 I mentioned in another post I had them in my car and they only lasted 6 months and the light output was very poor compared to the original bulbs. I just ended up buying nice white LED replacement bulbs instead.
-
Just a quick update to say I had the test drive, but decided against it. It drove lovely and really looked like it had just come out of the showroom, but in the end I am just not used to buying a used car, so will go ahead with my original plan and wait for the next generation UX whenever that maybe rather than using as used model as a stop gap ... no rush. They offered a very good package and the trade in for my Prius was amazing, they obviously know that Toyota next door will have no trouble selling it. Thanks for the help and opinions offered.

My new UX and future modifications
stepppy replied to Y2CJR's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
I had these before on my car and I found they lasted less than 6 months and the light output was far less than the standard lamp. I ended up just replacing the original bulbs with LEDs. Search eBAY, there are loads of sellers out there. -
Yes correct 👍

Thanks Colin, my thoughts exactly. Not something I would spec, but it definitely seems to be adding a premium to their price, but I will work that out if all goes well on the test drive.

- Road tax, that is what I was expecting, so that's all good. - Costs, I know its going to cost more to run, especially servicing and tyres, I just like to have all the facts rather than it being an affordability issue. - Insurance quote is just a tad more than my Prius, so that's all good too. I did test drive a premium sport last year when I was looking at purchasing the face lift UX and was very impressed with it. This time I will be test driving the actual car I would be purchasing and being a Takumi has the sunroof, which although being just under 6 feet tall, I do have a long body, so I need to ensure that there is sufficient headroom as I have made that mistake before and regretted it. In the showroom it seems fine, but proper driving will give me a better idea. I can wear a top hat in my Prius as there is so much headroom 😁 Thanks for all your answers, it's been very useful. Test drive has been postponed until Friday now.

A normal UX is going to be a lot more thirsty than my Prius, so I guess another few less MPG extra won’t matter 😁
-
Thing is I am not bothered by the AWD , it just happens to have it. It’s more of a negative to me really (boot space/economy), but the rest of the spec is perfect.
-
I was supposed to be test driving it tomorrow, but they are forecasting snow, so I think I will cancel. Apart from the £40K supplement for 5 years the road tax is the same £155 isn’t it? Paying £0 at the moment so that’s going to hurt!

I took my Prius in for its yearly service and MOT yesterday and whilst I was waiting I had a look around the Lexus showroom. We nearly placed an order for a new UX last year, but due to the near year wait times and possible new UX in a few years after that we decided not to go ahead. However, we had a look at their used stock and they had a lovely UK Takumi E-Four in Terrane Khaki which is the spec and colour we would have ordered if we went for a new one last year. The Salesman said the E-Four is quite a rare model, and I wondered if anyone who has one can give their experiences of it compared to the FWD model. We were offered a test drive, but we can't fit that in at the moment. I notice that the E-Four suffers on paper MPG wise, so wondered what people generally get. We did not have any intention of changing yet, but after seeing this one and with the value I still have in my Prius, it could be a very cheap upgrade and interim car until a new UX arrives in however long. We have not purchased a used car for at least 20 years so a little nervous, but it did look immaculate apart from a tiny hairline scratch on the roof which they would get detailed out. It's two years younger than my Prius and has just under half the mileage, but comparing to others for sale, it does seem to be a bit expensive. As its the only E-Four that I could find it would seem that is where the premium is coming from. I have no need for four wheel drive and would not spec it new, it just happens that this one is four wheel drive. Thanks.

Lexus Ux250h damp inside

Had a thought, wonder if he recirculate button has been pressed by accident as that can cause the windows to steam up…. -

Same here, always use Auto and never had an issue. -
My local Toyota dealer sells a solar trickle charger for just this purpose. I think it was around £90. They have flyers for them on all the waiting room tables. I am fortunate that my car is garaged, so can use my smart charger every now and then, but the solar charger may be a good option.
