  1. Dunno if this the right place for this post, but can't find light section! Just spent 2 hours trying to get one of the front fog lights out and gave up. Water has been getting inside it and is going brown at the bottom. Car has the original areo kit which has the lower front spoiler. Has anyone managed to remove one before? Is there any nuts/bolts that hold it in? does it push out forwards or backwards? Bloody thing, why is everything such a pain to do on these cars!
  2. So decided to to go H&R springs, lowered car by 35m all round which is perfect, ride is great as well
  3. Yep, those poor dealers!! Have ordered another K&N, just didn't want to do it.. lazy. Hmm, just added up how much I have spent on the Lex these last few weeks..mad? probably.
  4. No, it's where it is, hidden down the right side of the engine, just a sod to get too! Dunno if 20k on a decent oil filter is okay or not tbh.
  5. Yep, defo that poxy dual mass flywheel! Bad news is that it's gonna cost a grand for one, get it welded up solid.
  6. Yeah, I know what you mean, price of the filter isn't an issue, I normally use the K&N which varies between £10 and £15 (not the cheap Fran rubbish) just not a nice job to change the filter, always go in from the top but is like a bloody rubix cube to get old one out and new one back in! Not to mention bruises on right arm. I have left the filter on before, so oil and filter change then after 10k just change oil, then after another 10k change both.
  7. How long would you leave an oil filter on the car, not the oil, just the filter? Thinking to give engine an oil change(10k) but leave filter as such a pain in the arse to change..and a pain in the arm as well!
  8. Appears that the Eibach Pro Kit springs are only available in USA, cost to import is stupid, so the only other option is the H&R springs but they drop 35m which I didn't really want. Still looking into front springs from the Sportscross, as they are 312m in length as opposed to 333m for the saloon. Thing that bothers me is there is 2m difference in the diameter. Only doing this as both front springs are broken, and both were only replaced 3 years ago with Blueprint springs which always appeared to sit to high.
  9. Just been on- line trying to get the Eibach pro kit springs for my car , but none available in UK! Assume the is200 ones are not the same?
  10. Has the ride been harder or different with these springs?
  11. But it's really just common sense, things like brake pads/discs/tyres/new engine parts such as pistons+rings all need a chance to "bed themselves in", just take it easy for 200 miles, worth doing mate.
  12. Could be, but those springs are about an inch lower than saloon which is interesting stuff, cheaper than coil overs.
  13. Yeah, also the outer diameter is 2mm difference as well, would suggest firmer ride in the sportscross?
  14. Yeah, makes sense. Best of luck with ecp though, they like the product back in original packing unopened!! Reckon with new discs (as long as slider pins working and not sticking) your car should be spot on mate.
  15. Unusual to have a problem with the new disc though, what ecp make was it?
  16. For the cost of a new disc, I would (did) change the n/s one at least, as this is the side that I found had the initial problem.
  17. Few years ago had to change front coil springs as one had broken, and since then the front has always sat much higher than it should so thought would look into why. The springs I used were Blueprint ADT388394 which have a length of 333mm. I have noticed that the ADT388395 have a shorter length of 312mm but are these just for the Sportscross and not the Saloon? I can't see why there would be any difference as both cars have the same engine..any thoughts?
  18. Code P0430 has come up on my is300, have cleared it a few times but comes back after couple of days., reader shows "catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 2" I assume this is the Lambda sensor that requires the drivers seat to be removed to unplug it..? Anyone done this before?
  19. Worth disconnecting the battery overnight, this should clear any "stored" faults in cpu. Also worth plugging in an OBD code reader, might show something like a faulty Lambda sensor which can bugger things up. Has the engine warning light come on?
  20. Had a pink moment, what you reckon?
  21. 200 miles nothing, need at least 1000 for things to "bed in"
  22. ..but you didn't have the wheels balanced! As you know, they have the latest equipment for balancing wheels %100. They done mine, after some other muppet done them, and every wheel was out!! Cured a slight (but annoying) steering shake at 65mph. Go back and get them balanced!!
  23. ..but when these niggles are sorted, the car is the absolute dogs! Assume that you have removed and inspected the inside rims on all wheels for any signs of a buckle/flat spot? I notice you in Sussex, do yourself a massive favor and take car to Wheels in Motion. They are 85 miles from you in Chesham, but motorway miles. They will set tracking to correct spec, check wheels/tyres and then balance them "correctly" (not balanced on a worn out piece of crap in most tyre shops) The car will then drive perfect.
  24. Wouldn't have thought so, only if you were to brake. Sounds more like Tyre/wheel problem.
  25. Bit steep, £40ish is about right.
