  1. Let's face it, these cars are now old, is it really worth spending excess money on them? Nice as they are, not a good investment.
  2. The sales rep behind you in his new BMW is left fumbling with his controls as you hypospace into the distance..happy days!!
  3. When you put the autobox into manual mode and use the tiptronic buttons on the steering wheel, ....😁
  4. A wise decision ☺️
  5. Very nice car, even has the satnav, shame not the 18inch alloys and areo body kit though. I think it's overpriced with 128k, maybe if was 70k would be more like it. Does say it has a full service history, if by a main dealer then that's worth paying a bit more. Go and take a look at it, have a drive, it's nothing like driving an is200.
  6. Drive a 300 before you start dropping money into an endless pit.
  7. To be honest, reckon it would be hard to find a decent is300 now, at least 16 years old! But if you find one, don't hesitate. I've owned a 1986 Lotus for 28 years, will never find another in same condition.
  8. I change engine oil every 10k, never put it into sport mode as fast enough without it, use the manual shift buttons on motorway driving, such a lovely car to drive. Had slightly lower springs fitted last year which has improved the handling a lot, but standard otherwise. Amazes me how the paintwork is still as new!
  9. Bought it at 50k, now at 182k, used for everyday business, engine appears to be absolutely bomb proof, still as smooth and fast as day l bought it.
  10. My is300, absolutely love it!
  11. Push the boat out and get an is300 auto
  12. So the most important thing is the duel mass flywheel, does the car judder slightly when letting the clutch out? If so then then it's £1000, best to get an automatic.
  13. Thanks guys, fitted new radiator today, all okay, will check everything again tomorrow for leaks before fitting undertray
  14. Thanks guys, not received the rad today so unable to fit! Need the lex back on the road, smaller cars to uncomfortable 😡
  15. Having to fit a new radiator tommorow, just thought, is there any special way to bleed the air out of the system, or fill it and start engine without the cap on and wait untill the engine heats up allowing the level to drop?
  16. If I was you, change discs and pads (Brembo from Eurocarparts) also I would fit new slider pins (Redbrain, Ebay) then all should be well, if gives a problem after a couple of thousand miles then you need to look closer.
  17. So I took o/s front wheel/brakes etc off and spun hub, the bearing had defo gone. took car to a different garage this time and had new wheel bearing fitted and also had both lower ball joints replaced again for a better make (not ecp rubbish). resulting in the steering wheel going to 11 o clock, this proves that the ecp ball joints were complete rubbish!
  18. After having a knackered n/s lower ball joint replaced, the steering wheel was not centered any more, straight was 12.30 instead of 12.00. I thought that I would have the o/s one done the following week as well, that put the steering out to 1.00! So I decided to get both track rod ends replaced as well, and the rear knuckle bushes, then take it to Wim (Chesham) to have the four wheel laser tracking done which would obviously sort it out. Well not really. Everything set up to spec, but driving back I noticed that the steering wheel was still not centered sort of 12.15, and the steering felt strange, very unresponsive when turning, also when reversing out of my drive, the o/s front wheel was scraping on the lower suspension arm. Took it back to Wim and explained the symptoms, he done a few minor adjustments and set the steering straight. When driving back, steering still not straight, sort of 12.07ish and steering still feeling weird and unresponsive. Now these guys obviously know what they are doing, and have set my car up before which was perfect, so it's got to be something else. Had car lowered a few weeks ago but that didn't appear to affect it, could it be the new lower ball joints or the new track rod ends? Also since then , there is what sounds like a front wheel bearing noise on the o/s front, local garage had a look and don't reckon it is, I need to have a look myself when get a chance, but this all seems a bit weird...hmmm
  19. Thanks for your help, found and ordered a couple from fleabay.
  20. The poly bush looks interesting...
  21. Have sent picture to my mechanic, he should know if this is the correct part, hopefully it is! Many thanks for that
  22. The bush that needs replacing is the one that has the arrow pointing to it, tis inserted into the knuckle. On a different note, should front bottom ball joints always be changed in pairs rather than just changing one side?
  23. There is slight play in the rear suspension bushes, no one appears to sell them and Lexus only sell the complete knuckle assembly, does anyone know of a place that sells just the bush? Attached diagram with arrow showing where the bush is located.
  24. Tried peeling back the arch as much as poss, removed lots of bolts etc, but didn't remove complete liner, looked a tad involved tbh. Can get to it (just) but can't see enough to find how its held in.,Can't really get to it from underneath as spoiler struts in the way, if only I had a car lift, life would be SO easy..(or if it was hand built like my Lotus!)
  25. Yeah, will take some pics when weather better. Got them from Demon Tweaks, really helpful with technical info about the springs, think they cost £240ish and another £220 to get them fitted.Mechanic who fitted them was impressed, guess he's seen enough to know good from bad. I was worried that the smooth ride would be messed up, but it still rides great, infact better, more stable, and likes going around corners faster now!
