  1. i think if you are not looking for a stainless steel or lifetime exhaust (more pricey) then these ones from online automotive should do fine and will be quieter than stainless steel.. anything from Lexus dealer is over priced as i found out with 02 Sensors where they wanted £300 for the same Denso part which goes for £60 outside the dealer.
  2. regrettably you could have got more than only £250 for the car.. i think you let it go for less than peanuts. considering if it was still derivable, you could easily auctioned it or sold it privately for at least a grand...
  3. mmmh i think you have been had there.. for getting rid of an LS430 for only £250... surely it could be saved by doing a conversion to coilovers? even if it sets you back £1500 it still works out cheaper than buying a CT200h and will drive better than one even at its age? no offence to CT owners.. i wont be surprise the the guy does a suspension conversion cleans it up and puts it back for sale.. LS's are still one of the finest cars ever built in my books...
  4. have you considered a later model MK3 GS300? ..they are quicker and most importantly have more torque to shift the weight of the car when compared to the GS250's engine. but thats not saying the 250's engine is not adequate..mpg figures are near identical to the 250 aswell.. road tax is higher for the 300 but initial purchase price is cheaper so money saved on initial purchase price can be used to pay for road tax and still have more for a holiday ... worth test driving one for the fun of it to compare to the GS250 ... i also feel the MK3 GS's have a better build quality than the MK4's in my opinion but that's just me..
  5. don't overlook a late model MK3 GS300 ..they are quicker and most importantly have more torque to shift the weight when compared to the GS250 and mpg figures are near identical.. yes you will pay more for road tax but they can be acquired for lesser money that the GS250 so money saved on initial purchase price can be used to pay for road tax and even that you will still be quids in ... worth test driving one for the fun of it to compare to the GS250
  6. 245bhp and 350NM is more than enough... will be more reliable and will be exclusively rare on UK roads.. whats not to like..
  7. Is there any information on the better selling ES in terms of engine and spec in the states since they have both the ES350 and 300h for sale?
  8. if its of sentimental value then of course its a no brainer to fix it. if you tired of it and need to change to a younger car, it will still cost you more than a £1000 to buy that car in the first place..
  9. surely its not loved that much if you willing to get rid of it after 16 years of serving you. with minor cosmetic issues which wont cost thousands to fix?
  10. Question you need to ask your self is are you satisfied with the power of IS250 and only looking to improve the handling? or are you looking to limit the rolling? if you happy with the suspension setup and are only looking to limit the rolling then Anti roll bar is where you should be looking. if you want it to sit a bit lower then of course go the coil overs route. but if its power and handling you need then get an IS-F or IS200t if you still want an IS or get a MK3 GS300,430 or 450h. the GS's hide their weight well and are capable.
  11. 100,000 miles on a Lexus engine is barely broken in so don't let mileage be a show stopper so long as it has an up to date service history preferably majority Lexus then you have nothing to worry about..
  12. it sure does have a clock.. but i stumbled across this and thought mmh would it blend in well with the dash or look out of place...
  13. Citizen makes top notch long lasting watches. i remember that being my dads watch brand and I bought a kinetic gold plated one about 7 years ago which is still looking fresh and new till this day. i have my Chronograph Tommy Hilfiger as my daily work watch and my Citizen is more for socialising and formal occasions. whats are people thoughts on this dash watch? looks good or tacky?
  14. if this is F1 where a race could be won or lost by a thousand of a second then this will be of importance but who really cares if the RC-F hits 60 in 4.1 , 4.5 or 4.7 secs? the difference between these times is not day and night to matter a great deal.
  15. Thing is majority of the time it will be an uncomfortable daily drive due to the track setup of the car.. this is a quote from the link below regarding Lexus warranty but don't quote me on it. best to check with Lexus UK The world's largest automaker agrees with this policy. We confirmed that Toyota's warranty does not cover cars on a race track. And that policy includes performance models like the 2017 Toyota 86 and all Lexus models, including the F Performance line. That's right, the warranty does not make exception for the IS F, RC F, or GS F. https://www.autoblog.com/2017/02/27/new-car-warranty-valid-race-track/?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAH_Okkx1u802K7C0EdI8n_i5ZjJmTVFNz9t_Ziyr6GMd7VmbQHbb3l5pIH8tYH1zxsBZAdw-0Z_nxoXP0LOBCWu53ulz55euaS90Cu1OzcyDJxmtcRGJRkzvD8Jrqk7E1JHIFiV_oeqKcsi0mUhTGbmAgh1K0a3cz_9SGCmxistt
  16. sure a second hand Caterham 7, highly tuned Mazda MX-5 or Honda S2000 will be a much cheaper, fun and a better track day car.
  17. from the photos it looks like the off side rear door suffered a hit possibly rear suspension as well. but looking at the photos it looks like a very good repair has been carried out. so long as it has been given the all clear by DVLA and has been put back on the road, has passed MOT, door shuts and locks fine, rear door airbag is functional , is worth a closer inspection and a haggle down to £2000. but note some insurance companies might turn their nose up on category s cars or might hike premiums if they decide to insure. all in all a very good repair in my opinion.
  18. Take a look at this 28 year old Toyota Crown Royal.. an example of a car built to last. i love the digital dash and swivel vents by the way.. they sure dont build it like these anymore
  19. even more lower when you buy through their Ebay store. i do understand some peoples view about prodcts sold on Ebay being Chinese knock offs but if you look closely you will notice even Lexus and most dealers now have an Ebay store. there are some genuine quality product sellers on there if you look very well..
  20. I do see it aswell in the new Mercedez/BMW compared to 90's and early 2000 models. yes a 2019 model will have newer toys than a spaceship would but you can just tell its not the same. not sure what new car buyers pay for these days when buying a luxury car. mediocre quality even when you put reliability aside. its more the badge if you ask me but whats the point in being 'exclusive' when every man and his dog drives one.. I'm not sure if the financial collapse experienced in 2008 has something to do with it but Luxury car models released afterwards are hit and miss in terms of quality with a few models still being well built in terms of material quality. the worse of the Luxury brands for me is Tesla interior build quality how can a car be worth that much and have such interior build. no offence to Tesla owners
  21. Someone once told me Lexus built good well spec'd cars with quality materials up until 2006. anything after that was mediocre. and not just Lexus i have also seen this mediocre quality in other so called Luxury brand cars. they sure dont build them like they used to anymore at least Lexus overall is still a reliable brand on average..
  22. we can all agree every tyre does have its limits in the wet more so if one has a RWD car Landsail LS588 UHP has officially been tested and given a B rating in Wet braking and B rating for fuel efficiency with a low 68db for quietness and a capable speed rating of almost 170mph. this alone tells me it can handle my daily 50 mile commute to work on M1 in rain or shine with less cabin noise. i think if i am looking for a tyre to lap the nurburgring faster i will be going for Michelin pilot sport but for daily work commute it is overkill for this purpose.
  23. I tend to verify things for my self. i do recall reading reviews few years ago on how people were bashing Kumho tyres i ignored and i have tried 3 kumho tyres to date, the KU39 and HS51 on my GS430 which has more power and torque than the GS300's and the kumhos handled the power and handling with no issues and the latest PS71 from kumho was fitted to my previous 2.4 Accord again didn't fail to deliver. but i get online and read a review of someone with a 1.2 litre vauxhaul corsa bashing the same kumho tyres claiming it did not have traction. so i do understand if you have used Landsail and feel its cheap and rubbish but i will make up my own mind after experiencing one my self. after all the Chinese have the know how to pretty much build anything these days since they have access to majority of patents due to 90% of goods produced in the world coming from there and I'm guessing their tyres have gone through testing and approved by industry standards before being permitted to be sold and fitted to vehicles in USA and Europe.
  24. i wont be surprised if another company comes up with a way of deactivating the speed limit by selling people devices to do this.
  25. Welcome and same colour and interior as mine ☺️ yes it does drive very luxurious and actually feels more solid than my previous mk2 GS430 drives like you are floating on the road. enjoy
