  1. Ok matt lets see if you can and once you done, both you and ray can also attempt to solve mine too lol lol
  2. solve your AC problem your self buddy will you pay me for my services? I guess not now like i said am no mechanic but as you can see i can service a car ok without having a degree in one all self thought from reading and youtube videos and is that a bad thing? Your guess was as good as mine. Try and solve the project i also assigned you transporter. Am giving you a week mate that's more than enough time and everyone will agree it is.
  3. and heres yours. downlaod a sample table from Microsoft website http://msftdbprodsamples.codeplex.com/releases/view/93587 and create a Sql Server report returning all customers with sales aginast them and the products they bought. will give you till next week to google it.
  4. yeh check your driver door sill and if you see the section which says A/TM with B02B, B02C then its LSD i think all UK models IS300 are LSD spec.
  5. ok you a qualified mechanic right?? try making it go like mine..lets all see if you can!
  6. put what you smoking away matt and type properly.
  7. hahaha so what you and transporter is saying is i need to be able to strip down an engine to qualify for knowing things about cars?? haha. let me break the honest truth for you guys. one does not need a degree in auto mechanics to know how. a camshaft works, crankshaft works, valves, turbo engines, exhaust, ECU, fuel injector, radiator, gearbox and the list goes on.. like i said all these are self taught and more over i used to be in the car tuning scene aswell attending meets hear and there and modyfying my previous cars so as confirmed. there is nothing you both can do on a car which i cant. back to Snow i heardon TV its definately all Over.
  8. oh come off it transporter can i change car tyres? yes can i change my oil ?yes even thought i dont due to not having the space can i change my light bulbs front and rear? Yes can i change my air filter? yes can i change my cabin filter? yes can i change my battery? yes can i change ignition leads? yes can i change my brake discs and pads? yes same as line three lack of working space hinders this i get my mechanic mate to do it. so dont think am a novice when it comes to cars matey like i said am no mechanic but but know my way round a car thank you very much sir.
  9. Welcome michael... no common faults with the IS models as they scrwed together well but they tend to eat up ball joints, and other have experienced frozen calipar issues but all are not too costly.. just keep it serviced when its due using the recommended fluids and will reward you with good drive and power. :-)
  10. No what am saying is Informaton Technology has made things which most people thought were rocket science 20-30years ago not much of a head scratching job and with small education , be it step by step manuals, with a combination of Pictures dvd videos and the right tools pulling down an engine could be done by any one who is not a mechanic. yes this video below was rushed but with the same LS1 manual, dvds right tools and a mate to help me out with heavy lifting i can pull out that LS1 engine as an example. like i said transporter its all held together by nuts bolts, clips, hoses and wires. rocket science its not.
  11. Transporter we live in the information technology age where people who havent flown planes in real life could land a real one just from playing flight simulator game on the xbos. where people become real racing drivers from playing Granturismo, where people have delivered babies from watching delivery videos on youtube... what am i saying here transporter?? being a mechanic is not Rocket Science... a couple of hours watching mechanic DVD's. youtube videos and Haynes manuals and with the right tools and work space, i will strip down that engine same as you did and will do a better job whilst am at it. let me know if my above statement is wrong transporter..
  12. I never claimed i could in fact i made it clear i was not a mechanic but that does not mean i dont know how a car works. and does that make me less of a human? i guess not.
  13. @Transporter Gosh you took long turning up.. I missed you :ooh-ducky: Now what happens when Transporter, ray, matt and the knob as you like to call me puts thier foot down either from stand still or rolling acceleration?? ohh hang on a minute i can see buddy ray, matt and transporter disappearing in my rear view mirror.. guess i will slow down so they can catch up
  14. Ray common sense should tell both you and matt that am not talking in terms of badge or number of doors when i say IS300 is a Supra am talking in terms of engine and how it performance on the road. Of course it does not have Toyota Supra etched at the back but does it GO like one?? Ask Nabouki Katayama for proof lol ...
  15. Ray you say the head is different right? Can you back this up with evidence for us? Am i a qualified mechanic? The answer is no do i know one or two things about cars or can i take one apart with help from my mechanic mate? Sure we could.. Do i get some info from the net ray? Now who doesn't even qualified mechanics in Bmw access the net for information to trouble shoot and fix issues they not familiar with? You bet they do.. if you and matt claim IS300 is not a Supra or cant go like one bring me an NA Supra and lets see if he can put 5 car lenghts on me.
  16. @matt which makes power delivery of both cars pretty much equal. Its simple matt..have low compression ratio and map engine to make torque at a high rpm or have a high compresion ratio and map engine to produce torque a bit lower resulting in one counteracting the other. @ray if the same con rods in non vvti engine have been made slightly thiner does not mean they different and weak the vvti versions found in IS300 can happily handle 450BHP as confirmed by SRT tuners in US the non vvti can take more abuse with regards to power but how many of us tune engines to 1000bhp? And which head are you on about ray? a GE head is a GE if you say GTE head then that's a different matter.
  17. Just a quicken because I'm rather busy The head is NOT the same AND the internals are NOT the same. Prove this to us ray so i can eat my humble pie. i soo wana eat that pie ray @matt on the road there wont be any difference. higher compression ratio, 5 speed box and torque coming in 1000rpm earlier all makes up for the 10bhp disadvantage wont know any other way to put it to you but take my word for it.
  18. matt there is no difference between both cars. NA Supra makes 220bhp because Toyota has only pushed the maximum tourque of 280NM up to come in at 4800rpm. to make it a bit more racey.. IS300 makes 288NM at 3800rpm which comes in 1000rpm below so based on this figures which two cars will have better pull at low end? and with a compression ratio of 10:5.1 compared to the Supra's 10:0.1 and a 5 speed box compared to a 4 speed box.. take my word matt that 10bhp advantage the Supra has, has been thrown out of the window deeming both cars equal. wont argue with that Steve
  19. so as you confirmed there will be nothing in 150bhp and 140bhp cars on the road then? and no you have not elaborated so dont try to avoid the question. will help you out matt as i always do.. will the 2JZ-GE engine from an IS300 fit into a Supra? Yes will the better gearbox from the IS300 fir into a Supra? Yes(with slight fabrication) so again can you elaborate on which mechanical parts will not fit into the Supra and why would it be a death trap?? maybe it would if the conversion is done by you lol ..
  20. matt an Auto NA Supra has around 150bhp per ton even with 2 doors to its name so are you telling me it will pull 5 cars lenghts on a 140bhp per ton IS300 with pretty much equal tourque figure, eqaul engine and better auto transmission? think again matt.. a mechanic tuner once told me with all things being equal between two cars, one will need around 30bhp per ton more to go a second quicker.so trust me matt there no no difference between the 4 Door Supra(IS300) and the 2 door Supra. " If you were to take a Supra and try and fit all your mechanical parts, it wouldn't be as fast or handle as well." What?? can you elaborate on this
  21. hahaaaaaaa like 10bhp makes a difference on the road. and this if from a guy who know things about cars hahhaaa..
  22. @ matt if you claim you can select any gear at any speed then please please send us evidence of slotting your into 1st gear at 70mph.. every one one here including yourself knows any thing IS300 is better than the IS200 so your argument is flawed my friend. matt take oll the mechanical parts i have in my car and slot it into a Supra chasis and see if it wont go as fast as one which already comes from the factory now do you beleive a Supra with my mechanical parts will be as fast and handle as one which already comes from factory?? if you dont can you explain to us why?
  23. @matt so that concludes you cant put select any gear at any time then right because as you confirmed. you will end up breaking your box. matt all the bits you have named are not bette than what is in the sport IS300. is the 3litre better than the 2litre ? - Yes is the A650E gearbox better than the 6 speed manual? - Yes is full leather better than half leather - Yes so you have not answered my question. name me something on the IS200 sport which is better or which the IS300 sport lacks?? ok put car chasis aside? what does an auto NA Supra have that my IS300 is lacking. let me guess 2JZ engine?, LSD?, double wishbone suspension, A650E gearbox? infact this box is better than the 4 speed auto found in the Supra.. help me out here matt...like i said chasis aside what does that car have which i dont? so technically is it a Supra in a 4 body chasis?? Yes it is..
  24. "I can select any gear at any time. Can you do that in your auto?" above statement from matt on post number #248. so matt since you claim 90mph is not legal will make it easy for you.. try shifting from 5th to 1st gear at the legal speed limit of 70mph and let me know if it slots in. as you claim, all can be done in one go right?? we will need evidence to back up your claim.. name me a part which your IS200 sport has which the IS300 doesnt matt?? once you do that i can name you parts which is in my SPORT IS300 which is not in your IS200 sport. open pull apart an NA Toyota Supra engine and let me know if it has a part that is not in my IS300 engine if you could confirm a part in an NA supra not in my IS300 i will eat my humble pie.
