you probably going too fast at 70mph in a rear wheel drive car in 'heavy rain'..

or for more performacne i will say move to an IS300 instead of the 200 its an auto but its quicker and torqueir than the 200. if you dont like the standard handling that can always be improved. or go for the 2.4 Accords they come with some luxury features as standard and have the performance of a 2.5 6 cylinder of that era. i considered one to replace my IS300 but picked up a V8 GS instead.

not sure how much a better handler the uprated ARB's makes to the 03/04 models when compared to the early models? I am sure you could fit after market ARB's to ealier models and they will handle just as well as the 03/04 models? after coming from an IS300 with 18'' wheels and sport suspension, i am glad i went for the SE GS430 over the sport i still like the looks of the sport models but 95% of the time the ride is better when compared to my IS300. during the occasional sprited i can feel the GS is a bit all over the place during cornering but i suppose that could be improved with stiffer side wall tyres mayvbe 18'' wheels and fitting anti roll bar or lowering the ride height slightly but this might spoil the overall ride where 95% of my driving is done.

more cylinder does not neccesarilly mean more power. more cylinders will help deliver power more smoothly and engine wont feel strained. the lexus consumes more fuel due to having an older engine design compared to the K20 found in the accord of that era i thought the IS200 makes around the same power as the 2ltr accord? were they not 155bhp?

if i recall, the factory Aero 18's i had on my 300 were 225 40 18. thats what you need

my wire tore completely from the unit and wasnt sure how much hassle it to replace just the wire to the unit. only cost me £40 to replace from the breaker so cant complain when considering a new unit from Lexus would have set me £190 for the part.

does Lexus not carry out a pre car check before they ork on a car and post car check after they are done with it? even my local quick fit garage do a pre car check before they touch/drive your vehicle. this would have indeed confirmed if the misfiring was a result of the technicion doing the recall job or if it was already there before the car was brought in for diagnosis.

if hes indeed running 400 bhp then the S4 will feel quicker due to lesser overall weight compared to IS-F and all wheel drive quattro system from launch.

yeh just received emails from two lexus branches quoting the same part number for GS300 and 430 so its the same part for both models.. found a guy breaking a GS willing to sell it for £40 he confirmed its in good working order and asked if he will fit it and he says £20 for fitting so might just try him out and see how it goes if not might aswell order from Amayama or Rock Autoparts. Hi All, does any one know if the ABS/Speed sensor units from MK2 GS300 / LS430's fit GS430's ? my front right ABS unit is faulty and have been quoted almost £190 from Lexus for the part. still waiting on a quote from Amayama Ltd but have seen a few GS300/LS430 being broken on ebay and wondering if these parts will fit? Thanks

don't think there are any Lexus specialist around as I live in Bedfordshire aswell so I tend to either use Lexus MK or Jem or Toyotec both based near London. was it a fluid change service you needed?

have you tried a 450h V6?

36/35 psi is still not over inflated on standard 17" inch tyres. these can be safely run upto 38 psi which is recommended in the owners manual

This was based on my experience but i might be wrong. my average mpg of 29mpg a few posts above was achieved with tyres inflated at about 36psi front and 35psi rear and going by my speedo reading of 70mph at roughly 20 miles motorway which was not travelling downhill.

i extract more when cruisng at exactly 70mph anything less or more then i notice it starts dropping slightly.

no lol 430 operates at its most efficient when cruising at exactly 70mph any less or any more and its inefficient. i had recently changed my oil that week if that contributed to it i dont know but I am now averaging 26mpg. 5 miles town and 20 miles motorway. which still betters 23mpg quoted in the book so am still happy :-)

I am now starting to see a lot of Lexus models on the roads which proves the brand is now selling quite well in UK mainly the hybrid models so could this be why most Lexus branches have stopped doing good deals or going the extra mile for customers and giving good customer service? there has been a few members of late who have had unsatisfactory service from Lexus dealers. maybe they just don't care as they used to anymore.. just like BMW dealers regardless of how they treat a customer there will always be a queue at their doors.

that's a clean looking GS you got there... regarding the sat nav update does the dvd update the maps as well as the graphic user interface or just the maps?

I read a while back on the US forums this was more related to IS-F that when in D and you use the paddle shifters to drop gears the transmissions ECU will revert back to the maximum gear which in your case (6th) after a couple of seconds of not using the paddle shifters but when in S and you drop down gears say from 6th to 4th the ECU will limit the maximum gear allowed to 4th in other words 5th and 6th will be cancelled out making only 1,2 3 and 4th available for use. I think S mode sharpens things up further when used with ECT PWR button compared to when in D

RB25 in an IS now thats tasty not sure if anyone opn here has such a combination.. tbh most of IS oners here are either running stock with intake exhaust mods i think 1 or two have are running turbo/ supercharged but havent come across a member on here with a Nissan swap so not that popular. have you also considered a 1JZ/2JZ GTE or V8 swap.. considered dropping a V8 in my IS300 but would have been more cheaper and less of a hassle to upgrade to GS V8..

35 degrees today with A/C on and returning just over 29mpg... thats IS200 teritory :D
