  1. This thread has intrigued me. I have a 2014 GS300h premier. The seats are obviously real leather and beautiful. Semi aniline I believe. However, I’ve always had doubts about the door panels and front arm rest as they feel different. The Lexus dealers I’ve spoken to have assured me that they are leather but I’m not so sure!
  2. What does it actually do and achieve?
  3. Interesting. I’ve a GS300h premier with semi aniline leather and wondered if it was genuine as it doesn’t smell as nice as an old vanden plas 1300 I had many years back which smelt wonderful if you could ignore the rotten wood scents!
  4. I buy relatively small purchases on line but expensive stuff I like to see what I’m getting for my money. However I have been known to looking at things in shops then buying it cheaper on line! The difference is that I’m buying a general product not a specific one!
  5. I’ve just started a thread about buying from cazoo. It would be interesting to see what information they want when sending money to them!
  6. Indeed. I would too!
  7. As far as my experience all you need for bank transfer is account name, account number and sort code.
  8. As an aside to the ‘who to sell to’ thread have any members bought a car through cazoo or the like? I’m old school and like to buy things in person so I can discuss my purchase. However, I’m also aware that the times are changing! I would be interested in peoples thoughts both positive and negative.
  9. I felt better because I DIDN’T know them!
  10. Looks a good job. I’ve toyed with the idea of changing ours but not got around to it. I wouldn’t park in it anyway as it’s become a sort of workshop/wood store. Fortunately we have locked gates to our drive so don’t worry about leaving our cars outside. Have never understood the logic of two doors. Both our cars would fit inside but getting the gs in would always be a precarious manoeuvre!
  11. Looked in my handbook for beautiful young frogs to no avail. Maybe handbooks ARE overrated!
  12. I’m that case wait 18 months and make a decision then!
  13. I wouldn’t worry too much about the cost per se as it’s impossible to judge whether or price will go up or down in the next couple of years. However, getting an IS or any Lexus is a no brainer especially if you want to keep it for a while. They’re comfortable, quality and reliable. Take a test drive and if you like it buy it. You’re almost guaranteed it won’t go wrong as long as you look after it and get it serviced regularly.
  14. I think many people are missing the point. I don’t think any of these restrictive measures have anything to do with road safety. It’s all to do with making motoring awkward or unenjoyable so as to get to zero emissions! Making car ownership costly and inconvenient in the hope we’ll use our cars less.
  15. Not sure where the ‘in’ came from! I hope John accepts my sincere apologies.
  16. Another infamous member may disagree with us! 😉
  17. A message comes up in the information panel between the rev counter and speedometer. But only once you’ve powered off! No light anywhere!
  18. The alarm went off a couple of times last night. I suspect some creepy crawly. So thought I’d turn off the motion sensor to see if it happens again. If it does then it’s not said creepy crawly. Anyway, to cut a long story short I’ve never done this before in five years of ownership. Pressed the button but couldn’t see any indication as to whether it was on or off. Thought a quick look at the handbook was in order an lo and behold, after a few seconds of consultation I had my answer!
  19. I was thinking the same. My GS300h hd is rock steady. However I had a windscreen replaced just after I bought it. The windscreen company who replaced it were fastidious about ensuring everything was alighned correctly. Has yours been replaced?
  20. Efes pilsen
  21. I’ve always found that the criticism of Lexus icvt a bit odd. As mentioned earlier any car increases revs when accelerating whether a manual or automatic. However, the smoothness of our cvt is far superior clunkiness/jerkiness found in ‘normal’ automatics. Sorry for inventing new words!
  22. Surely they’re only exposed when doing tight turns when ones observation should be outside the vehicle or when cleaning the car. Hardly a problem compared to others we’re currently experiencing!
