  1. Just checked my manual and mine is the same as yours. I haven't tried low and high speed operations when in auto mode. Have only done it when the problem occurs. Will try over the weekend and see what happens. Didn't realise I can have a temporary operation by flicking up. I always press the auto button on and off which gives me one sweep. Maybe I've caused the problem doing that!
  2. It really does ***** me off how insurance companies treat us. Renewed mine this morning. The quote they gave me was £40 more than last year. As soon as I told them I could get it cheaper elsewhere they matched it!
  3. Hi Bob, No it hasn't really been resolved. It's happened a couple of times since Lexus failed to find the problem. It is very erratic. When it happens I have to pull the lever fully down and they then start. If I just pull it down to the first position it doesn't solve it. Alan
  4. My tin of Lexus boiled sweets used to rattle but they now all seem to be stuck together. The rattle has gone though!
  5. Cold enough to freeze the balls of a brass monkey!
  6. I'm on nearly 60000 on my GS and apart from some surface rust the discs and pads seem barely worn.
  7. Just goes to prove how lazy RCF owners are!
  8. Try it with the AC set to the coolest setting. It should be more noticeable then.
  9. The brake dust accumulation is a valid response. I had a similar problem on mine. Apparently the pads and discs are only lightly used on a hybrid as most of the braking is done by the generators. Therefore it is possible for dust to gather as it is not often rubbed off during heavy braking. What I do is to have a couple of hard brakings from about 70mph when safe to do so and this seems to have solved the problem.
  10. I always get a replacement rubbers from my Lexus dealer. Last time was £15 for the pair.
  11. On my previous IS I had the same problem. It was coming out of the backrest but I could only feel it if I moved my back slightly away from the seat! The ones I have in my GS work perfectly.
  12. Great pictures. Here's my contribution, Eastern Scotland.
  13. My wife is Indian so know exactly what you mean!😉
  14. Thanks. That's helpful. So I need to enter the number of miles left from the last service?
  15. I'm not sure I follow your argument. I think Asian, Russian and Fillipino ladies can be mature too! And to be pedantic, Fillipino's are technically Asians! 😉
  16. Mature women and Screwfix? The mind boggles!
  17. Not only are the adverts annoying I find some are inappropriate. Why would I want to date a mature woman???
  18. This may sound like a silly question but I want to set the service reminder on my car. When I go into the settings screen do I set the miles to when I want the reminder or do I set it to the number of miles till the next service?
  19. I had a 220d and loved it but did a high millage. I don't think any modern diesel is suitable for short journeys not just Lexus. Now have a hybrid and think it's a very good compromise.
  20. Bizarrely the word was switch! Which apparently is now allowed! Am surprised you were allowed nipples!! Let's see if I can get away with *****?
  21. 1. Start with the car completely off. 2. Use the rotary **** on the wiper control to set how many blinks you want. This **** has four positions: - 1st (bottom) position = 3 blinks - 2nd position = 5 blinks - 3rd position = 7 blinks - 4th (top) position = no automatic blinks 3. Hold the wiper lever in the all-the-way-up position, and keep holding it there 4. With foot OFF brake pedal, press the start button twice so the gauges light up (keep holding that wiper lever up!) 5. Continue to hold the wiper lever all the way up for a count of 8 or more (if you go too fast you will have to start all over!) 6. Let the wiper lever come down one position and hold it there for a count of 8 (don't let it go back to the middle, just let it come down one position) 7. Hold with wiper lever all the way up again for another count of 8 8. Let with wiper lever come down one position again, and hold it for a count of 8 9. Let go of the wiper lever. The right turn signal should flash once. If it doesn't, turn the car off and start again at step 1. 10. Briefly move the turn signal lever down 1 position and let go of it again. The left turn signal should flash to confirm your setting, but not in the way you might expect. It will blink 1, 2, 3, or 4 times to match where you set the rotary **** on the wiper control, so: - 1 flash = set for 3 blinks - 2 flashes = set for 5 blinks - 3 flashes = set for 7 blinks - 4 flashes = no auto blinks 11. Turn power OFF, then turn on again and test.
  22. I've set mine to seven which I find preferable on motorways but also useful on roundabouts and changing lanes in towns. Three or five just didn't seem right to me as they'd cancel too soon. I still use the full setting when turning at junctions though and they always cancel afterwards.
