I don't understand why some people are so vociferous in their condemnation against the GS 300h or its probable successor, the ES. Subjectivity and objectivity keep being mentioned. Speed (or acceleration) also keeps being mentioned. None of this is actually relevant. Those that are happy with the GS or those that are happy to buy an ES should be happy to do that without criticism from those that have a different opinion. Those that aren't or wouldn't should just go and buy what they are happy with and stop thinking that they are right and those that disagree are wrong. That's what subjectivity is all about. If we all made objective decisions when buying a car we'd all be driving the same thing and that would probably be boring!

Not true I'm afraid. Have you ever driven a Honda Jazz with a CVT gearbox? Not a sign of a squat to either end! The only squat I've experienced is similar to sitting on a toilet especially when trying to enter a roundabout quickly! 😉

Interesting. I've had Volvo's before and thought they were the best seats but the GS beats it hands down. Must admit though that with 18 way adjustment it took me about 6 months to get it perfect. Am glad it's got memory! I'm well happy with the gearing and also the turning headlights.

I've a GS premier and can safely say it's the best car I've owned. I really look forward to driving it especially on long journeys. Always a pleasure to be in and always get out feeling relaxed.

Why? I've never bought a car objectively. I've bought cars because they feel right for me or make me smile. Hence I'm now a GS owner. I don't care if it's not as fast as something else or doesn't go round corners faster than something else. I enjoy being in it and driving it. Yes, a 450 may be be quicker but so what? I'd probably only use that power 1% of the time and certainly don't miss it. The 300 satisfies my needs perfectly.

Depends on your feelings about risk. I'm quite averse to it so have extended warranty on my GS for peace of mind. The chance of something going wrong are slim but if they do the cost is probably going to be expensive. The Lexus roadside assistance that comes with it is very comprehensive and worth having as it covers another driver in the same household and in any car.

My wife wants to know why it takes me twice as long to vacuum my car as it does to do the house. I tried to explain that the car has double the number of external doors and therefore twice as much crap enters but she wasn't having it!

Surely this should be covered by warranty?
