  1. I'll scan some instructions and upload them. There currently in my glovebox and my car is in the Lexus dealership. Should get it back by Thursday
  2. I'm not exactly sure how the lid comes off but I took the whole glove box out last weekend and that took less than ten minutes, Even if getting access to removing the lid means removing the glovebox it's a very simple task.
  3. I decided to buy and fit the Prestigious society Navi-video enhancement to my GS450h as I found it quite annoying with so many options being greyed out once the car is in motion. It took little over 30 minutes to fit taking my time and obviously no wires to cut or damage. Beauty is, this can be removed as easily as it was fitted. Anyway, does what it says on box and you still have the option to turn the electronic gadgetry off if you want to. Oh and in case anyone doesn't know what these do, they give full access to satnav, phone, DVD whilst on the move. If you have USB music then you ha e access to all the directory also. Carl
  4. Hmm, maybe I have turned the scan function off by accident as I'm sure it's not adjusting itself.
  5. For me it noticeably bad when listening to radio2. Very odd. It was perfect about 6 months ago and now it's got so bad that I have to flick over to a cd.
  6. I've noticed on my is250 that some radio channels seem to be getting worse reception recently. Now my gs is starting to do the same thing. Has anyone else experienced poor radio reception. Is it a component that breaks down over a period of time perhaps? Carl
  7. I bought one of these disc for my gs450h 2007 and had the same message. I disconnected battery in boot for few minutes then reconnected. Disc loaded software and all is well. I don't know why you should get the error but the instructions say it can happen and in my case it worked fine in the end. I now have updated maps 2014/2015 plus ability to type in addresses whilst on the move etc. Carl
  8. When I bought my gs450h from a Lexus dealer I had 1 year extended warranty included. Weirdly you cannot buy 1 year yourself but two minimum. Must be something only Lexus themselves can do. I paid for an additional two years in mine giving me three years piece of mind by which time I will be swapping it again. Cost me £995 but I think worth the outlay. As it turned out I had a few initial issues that needed sorting on my Gs. Cost just over 5k with Lexus main dealer labour charges. In short, mpsid for itself in the first few months. Carl
  9. Ditto on the membership, my membership has payed for it self many times over using the halfords 15% discount card alone. Anyone else thinking of gold membership it really is a no brainier. Carl
  10. Yep, still enjoying mine. I bought mine about 7 months ago from a Lexus dealership. Mine is a 2007 plate with 51,000 on when I bought it. Full service history and as immaculate as you could ever look to own. Previous owner looked after it well. As has been mentioned very understated car performance wise. I have put many hot hatches and so called performance cars to shame. Get to 80mph where the gear ratio changes then the power surge cuts in even stronger. It then comes down to whether you want to keep that licence or not. I do mainly town driving and don't always drive very economically and yet I never see less than 28.5mpg. I average around 30mpg and on motorway runs between 75-85mph average around 40mpg.
  11. I don't know how long some peoples holidays are but I have left my car for just over two weeks parked up and she fired up just fine when I returned.
  12. Agreed, some times Lexus dealerships impress and other times they don't. Given the price of a disc I think I prefer the plug in box which gives me complete control albeit same maps. Maybe I'll look for satnav map disc on eBay,
  13. Yes when I bought it it had a 2008 disk in I believe and the features were blacked out. But someone on here said that later discs had a firmware upgrade which enabled the features on the move. So I got a 2011 disc and it all worked perfectly. Since upgraded to a 2015 disc and still works. In fact all you need to do is borrow a later disc and pop it in and it'll update your system to enable the functions on the move. Then you can pop in your old disc again and it'll all still work fine. I tried it. What do these update disc cost? I'd like to do mine some time. See here http://www.lexus-mapupdates.eu/ or keep an eye on ebay M I spoke to Lexus who had never heard of the disc updating the software to allow on the move useage. He said he only thought it did map updates and nothing else. At £260 for the disc I'll give that a miss and look else where.

  15. So can you use, phone, sat nav and MP3 files on the move? I presume the DVD picture itself is still off though? Carl
  16. I know that some of you were discusted at the rusty locking wheel nuts on my newly refurbished wheels. After much consideration I took note a d fitted some nice new ones. Hope this is more acceptable-lol
  17. They cost £100 per wheel, that includes vat. You can find cheaper but I tried cheaper before and the started deteriating after only a year or so, so the phrase you get what you pay for is certainly true. The wheels get stripped right back to the metal and acid bathed to remove any corrosion. I would argue that they are better than original spec and the finish is nothing short of perfect. I imagine if you bought just one of these wheels new from Lexus it would set you back that sort of money. The trims are not replaced in that price, mine aren't too bad anyway and a little clean of the trims and they look fine. If you wanted to replace the trims as well they will set you back £32 each from Lexus, just £640 for all 20..ouch. Carl
  18. I thought the sat nav did little other than update the maps. would be interesting to know exactly what options are not greyed out when on the move. I have been looking at this option which is a little plug and play box from the states. Apparently simple plug in and no wire chopping. Afterwards you are able to use sell functions whilst on the move including sat nav, telephone address book and DVD, picture doesn't turn off. http://www.prestigioussociety.com/?page_id=138 Carl
  19. And if you ever wanted to know what these wheels look like without the trims the answer is not so nice...
  20. It's funny you should mention these as someone was only saying to me the other day that the rusty looking bolt lets the wheels down. Thanks for the link, I may look to invest in a set.
  21. I would agree that they actually are. And it was definitely worth the money. Couple of scuffs in my bumpers to sort and I think the cars just about as pristine as it can be. Carl
  22. I had a few curb marks and some flaking of paint starting to appear on my wheels so decided it was time to get the wheels sorted before they really started letting the car down. Trip to 'reinventing the wheel' in tewkesbury, Gloucestershire and a few days later the wheels look like brand new again. Carl
  23. I don't think they would look very nice with the trims removed. It looks like there are just two small mounting points behind them which each trim is screwed to. You would end up with two short stubby bits of aluminium between each spoke which I think would look untidy. Carl
  24. In my opinion the cvt is more responsive at any revs and more refined for the majority of driving. The only time it can sound a bit harsh is under full throttle acceleration when having one gear revving is a bit strange. I still drive my wife's is250 and can honestly say I used to think the auto on the is250 was the best box ever until I drove the cvt. It's something you have to try although to really appreciate it you need a day test drive to use the box in all diving conditions. Carl
