Before you pay anything try cleaning contacts in plug with a small screwdriver. I always give the connectors a little squeeze with pliers as well to tighten spade connectors up. Might even be the bulb at fault?? try swapping it with other side.
Was the code P1349 vvti system malfunction?
If so just wants filter cleaning in oil control valve. Its just in front of oil filler cap under vvti cover. There is a banjo union on right hand side, undo bolt and there's a filter on the end, needs cleaning as it will be blocked.
Hello Ant, welcome to the LOC.
The usual things apply when looking at a 200, service history, cambelt change.
Make sure oil and water is clean. Rust isnt usually an issue. Front brakes make sure they are free as are known to seize on sliders.
Check that at least one key has 3 buttons as these are usually the master keys, without a master you cannot get replacement keys coded. To check insert key in ignition and security light should extinguish immediately.(could also be 2 button)
Check footwells are not damp as are known to leak if windscreen not replaced properly.
is200's registered after march 2001 are £50 per year more to tax than pre mar 01.
Sure other members will have some input as well. One last thing you wont regret buying a lexus.
Only option you have is try to find original tte item (rare as hens teeth) or have one made, BUT you will have to find someone who has one and is willing to either measure theirs or lend it you as a pattern.
Never seen one for sale seperately, always part of the kit which sells for around £2000. Even they are rare.
But i wish you luck in your project.
The key shell are cheap enough, loads on e-bay. just have blade cut and install electronics out of old key.
like these 2or 3 button case blade length is correct for is200

As Chris says they are more for looks than any benefit to handling.
