    Theres a wiring diagram here http://www.4shared.com/office/45Ng9GIA/199_8_spkr_radio_cd.html Cd is a common fault on headunit, probably why it was changed originally.

    I know you say your car is the S version but check to see if there's an amp at left hand side of glovebox or do your rear speaker cases have lexus on them readable through rear window.. The plug you have seems to be for an amplified system.

    Put it this way, it;s the same as the ones in my lexus dealer service folder. So i assume it's genuine.

    The cd unit is located under boot carpet to the right of spare wheel. Probably just needs disc cleaning.

    To me personally, they suit smaller cars better. So sorry but it would be originals for me

    The paint covers in one coat and if the weathers like today it's gone off enough to re-assemble with care in 30 mins. if you have a pair of axle stands you can do both fronts at same time. Rears are easier as you only remove pads not caliper.

    My son did mine with a wire brush first, then give them a blast with brake cleaner and then use high temp paint.     Yes you use it with the amp bypass. The tx wires are located in original stereo plug. red/white tx- and red/blue tx+ NEVER feel stupid asking questions, it's how we all learn mate, no-one knows everything.....

    You can always do what i did, put a pair of rca plugs on original amp speaker inputs, and you can use aftermarket stereo with original amp. Providing new stereo has pre-outs.

    Looks great as it is, lovely colour and i prefer the black dash rather than the silver. To me needs nothing doing. :) or maybe just alloy pedals?

    I,ve got one on my is200, purely because i won it cheap on fleabay. Absolutely no noticeable difference at all. Apart from it came in a fetching box and was a lovely colour...LOL
