Been getting a squeal from the n/s/f. when braking or,strangely enough, when turning right but not braking. Took it to the mender man yesterday who immediately noticed a lip on the outside of the disc. He removed the pads and ground them down a bit so they don't touch the lip. He obviously advised new discs for the long term. All seemed fine for about two miles but then the noise started again. The noise disappears above about 20 mph,or when it rains. What I can't work out is how it squeals when turning right, but not braking.

Just a heads up really about a promotion at BP that LPG users probably know about anyway. Buy at least 30 litres of LPG,ask for a LPG saver card when you go to pay and they will stamp it,and you get 1p per litre off that purchase. Next time you go there,or any participating BP garage, you get 2p off per litre and so on until you are getting 10p off every litre. Just been to my local (well 10 miles away) BP where the board advertised it at 53.9 per litre and got it a penny cheaper of course. The actual nearest garage to me that sells LPG (a Total garage),only four miles away, was charging 59.9 with no offers,so it pays to look around. I go past the BP garage about once a fortnight,so ideal really. For people local to Eastbourne the nearest BP is at Golden Cross and the Total is at Cophall Services at Polegate. Happy shopping.

My old woman had a red Manta when we first met in '92. A699 NVS. I've had a few Poxhall's,none of which I fell in love with, including a 1969 Viva HB which had it's back doors welded shut because the previous owners kids would do a runner when Mum stopped at traffic lights!. Had a hired Insignia CDTi last year after my LS was written off. It had all the toys of course,as well as very firm suspension, very economical though. -

Never been one for sports cars, always preferred 'luxury barges'. Here are just 4 on my list of many. The green Mercedes 300te, called Gertie, was the actual one I owned until about 3 years ago. Wish I still had her (as well as the LS of course). -
Took the old girl for a short spin this morning, but when I got back the alarm would go off every couple of minutes whether it was locked or unlocked. Only way to stop it was to leave a door slightly ajar. I started trawling the internet to see if the alarm could be bypassed or switched off - it can't. Then I came across a thread on here regarding this problem and metallic objects in the centre console/armrest. It was then it dawned on me that I'd left my mobile phone in the centre console. 'Bound not to be that easy' I thought. However I removed said 'phone and hey presto, problem solved. Apparently the alarm sensor is in that area and leaving metal objects/phones there can result in the problem I and quite a few others have had. Strange but true.

........the other 27 didn't give a toss. This is the LS I spoke about a few weeks back. I finally found it this morning,so took a few pics. To save you looking,it's got a couple of months tax,but MOT ran out last December!. I don't expect it to be there long,so if you want to make an offer on her do it now. Quite how he moves it around with the O/S/R wheel at that angle I don't know.

Saw a Have you seen the 'American Army' green LS around town that looks as though it was entered into a Gumball Rally type of event?. Normally parked around Pevensey Road/Langney Road/Bourne Street area. Last saw it a couple of weeks ago and it looked as though it had taken quite a severe bashing unfortunately. Never had a means of taking a picture of it whenever I saw it. I'm at a loose end tomorrow so may prowl the streets with my Box Brownie and see if I can track it down.

I just posted an ad on Gumtree for a car I'm selling (not the LS) and within three minutes of posting,I got a call from the 'About your accident' scammers. The following 11 minutes yielded two more. I quickly put two and two together and realised they must have got my mobile number from Gumtree. I of course hastily took my number off Gumtree and set the scammers numbers to reject calls on my mobile. No more calls. Such a shame these ***** are doing this and ruining things for everyone. Is it actually illegal?.

I think the only other vehicle I got really attached to and was difficult to see go was my 1980 Bedford C.F. 'Advantura' motorhome many years ago. We'd camped all over the U.K. and Europe in that, so had great sentimental value. She's still around somewhere on a SORN now,and hasn't been MOT'd for two years.

As some of you may have noticed I recently listed my LS on fleabay. Had a lot of enquiries and watchers, but I've ended the listing early as I can't bear to part with her. This is not the first time this has happened either!. Never before has a car (other than my two other LS's) had this effect on me.The only reason I listed her was because I though the old dosh was going to be tight this month,so I went out and purchased a cheap as chips 'Froggy Fartbox' to replace her with. SWMBO was less than amused,as she prefers the LS to her much newer MB!. She lives to fight another day.

Halfords service

I had an accident on the A438 in Herefordshire in 1992/3 at a place called Bridge Sollers. A farmer in a tractor towing hay/straw ran in to the back of a car/caravan on the other side of the road and pushed the caravan into the cab of my Daf 3300 artic. I'd never seen an L shaped caravan before!. Luckily no-one badly hurt. A lovely part of the world indeed, and I was given a running commentary about the area (especially Bulmers) by the Paramedics in the ambulance on the way to Hereford Hospital. Ah memories. -
Hi Michael. Yes it was at Cophall services,Polegate. Pump 10,which has only recently had the hose replaced after someone drove off with the nozzle still in the tank and ripped it all out!. I did use the BP at Golden Cross about two months ago when Cophall was experiencing a power cut. A slightly different system there, but I soon sussed it out. I've not been able to find a local LPG service centre either. The one at The Broyle at Ringmer seems to be no more as both phone numbers are dead. The guy I spoke to yesterday and where I'll probably be taking her for repair and service is: New Farm Motor Services,Alresford,Hampshire SO24 9QE. Phone 01962 732338. It looks as if their website has been hacked though,as all I get is what appears to be a Chinese/Japanese gambling page when clicking on the link. This link http://www.drivelpg.co.uk/approved-installers/find-an-approved-installer/ will get you there though. It's going to be such a hardship to waft all the way to Hampshire though!.
