  1. Me too...got mine off eBay too. I have a couple of those 'leather aroma trees'. Long since lost their odour...but I rub a dollop of the leather conditioner into the surface of the card and pop it on the carpet under the front seat. Works like a charm...just have to replenish every 6 weeks or so.
  2. I used these products when I had my 220d. Found them very effective. When my tank was nearly empty I put the whole can of BG in and then top up with 50/60 litres of fuel immediately...thereby thoroughly mixing it. The AR ... I used to put in 5ml then 50 litres of fuel straight on top to mix again.
  3. Ah come on you can't leave it dangling like that. Spill the beans, open the worm can........wriggly blighters heading in all directions
  4. Road noise Lexus tended to shoe the cars with Bridgestone Turanzas, etc. Not the best for noise or tramlining in my opinion. I now run with Goodyear. Recently put Goodyear Efficientgrip Performance on the front and it is massively better and much quieter. No tramlining at all. Car now feels really 'planted' on the tarmac.
  5. You need to go and audition the 250 auto. The gearbox is a delight....nothing else I have been in comes close. Road tax is 280. Be careful of the is250 manual it can have 460 road tax. Fuel mpg average is about 29-34 on mine. Best ever close to 40mpg (bit exceptional I'll grant) and if I get a little silly it can be 25-26. But its great fun doing that. The paddles are great for a bit of fun driving. Brill for overtaking. Lexus didn't do an auto diesel...with good reason ....they struggled with the manual box as it was. Audi auto diesels are not bad at all. My only gripe would be the space in the back is tad limited ( no prob to us we are just 2 souls) and the boot mouth is a little bit restricted. Every single person that's been in it likes it!! My boss dropped off his Aston Martin to be serviced this morning. So I picked him up and now he wants to borrow it this afternoon!!! Really liked what he saw/felt. Dammit.
  6. Depends if you have DVD driven sat nav or HDD driven sat nav. If you're not sure go and see a dealer and ask them what you have.
  7. Check your manual to find if you have the HDD on your vehicle. You can also find this out by doing the following. Load a cd into the cd/DVD drive. On the right side of the screen you will see an option to 'record' this disc onto the hard drive.
  8. I would think your sat nav is on the Hard Disc Drive. I understood all navs after late 09 were HDD type not dvd. If it's HDD it is updated by using a USB drive. This can only be done by Lexus. Personally, I'd do this every 4 yrs or so. I've just done mine from 2010 version to 2014 version. Think they come out every April. So, you might be wise to wait until late April to get the 2015 version.
  9. Yep...just had my letter from VOSA to contact my local Lexus dealership.
  10. Facelift version has..... on my SEL variant HDD sat nav so no more DVD nav discs. Its updated via USB stick (only done by Lexus though) Ability to record CD's onto the Hard Disk Drive Indicators in the wing mirror shell Wing mirrors retract when the car is locked. Handy to see if you have locked your car from a distance. Redesigned reversing light bezels USB port in the armrest. Brill for using my Iphone and Ipod as it charges too. Anti dazzle rear view mirror....may have been on the earlier version, I'm not sure. Anti glare wing mirrors.......may have been on the earlier version, I'm not sure. I'm sure I've missed some others....if I recall them I'll add on later.
  11. Here is my account to another member after changing my puddle light bulbs to LED "I've just done the puddles tonight. My bulbs are those shorter ones with 5 smd. My unit definitely has a reflector around the bulb. The bulbs I used are identical to the Precision ones and the light is good. Just been outside to check it out! Nice to see everything all daylight white. Not quite sure what you mean by Flank light, but if the smd's are all on one side you can't switch it if the polarity is wrong. Anyway, took about 35 mins to do both mirrors. Put an old towel over the door (window open)to support the removed mirror screen. The bulb that’s in there is a T10 capless type. You can't put anything longer than the type of bulb I used as it won't fit....I tried a longer one last night..did not fit." Hope that helps Normski
  12. Yes....me....I have my2010 with puddle lights and indicators in the mirror.
  13. Have you seen this vid? I watched this before doing my puddle lights. Its the same for mine. You just have to have a care for the signal wiring in there too! Worked a treat for me. One thing to be aware of...don't try and put a longer led bulb in there ....it won't fit. Think mine are about 25/26mm in total length.
  14. Just a long shot. Sometimes folk leave bits and bobs on the dash top and they can slide down the gap between dash and window. Try and look, from outside down at the gap with your head parallel to the windscreen. I only mention it as I found a plastic trolley coin wedged down mine. Could only just be seen from outside. Bugger to get out though. Did it in the end with a wire coat hanger cut to suit.
  15. No brainer.....go for the 250 Auto. The auto box is divine...go and try some. Your friend with the BM knows nothing of 250 auto box....that's for sure. Probably never even driven one! The diesel manual box can be a tad......agricultural.... shall we say. You should try a few to experience it for yourself.
  16. I don't know if they are different under the dash...it's too cold, I'm not going out there now....but the ones I've changed under the bonnet were the mini blade type. I suspect it would have the same type throughout.
  17. Cable point is pretty much where your knees are. Stick your head down in the foot-well, then look up, and you will see the connector where the dash material ends.
  18. The fuse puller is often in the main compartment, under the bonnet, but sometimes it may have been stashed in the forward fuse box rhs of engine towards the front. They really do make fuse extraction very simple.
  19. John did they allow you/did you ask to have the old door loom. It would be good to inspect it thoroughly. Has it been chafing against some other part in the door?
  20. Yeah I was told that too! Did a bit of research and came up with these...they are perfect, and not stupidly expensive either. I have a link somewhere...I'll pm you at some point soon. They take about 30/40 mins to fit and fit perfectly on my 250. I don't know if the f sport has same body profiles?
