  1. Looked, from the reversing light shape, that you had the facelift version. if you have, there is USB port in the armrest and you can input 2 phones ... I have. Maybe its not a facelift? But at 59 plate it certainly should be. Do you have indicator flashers in the back of the door mirror cowl? Full postcode entry into the Nav?
  2. Spot on matey ..... you are going to love it. That auto box is just divine. Being the facelift variant you will find a few nice improvements. The USB port in the armrest is much needed step up. Very pleased for you.
  3. Sympathies on that ... its bloody annoying. Had my drivers door dinged in a car park at xmas (usual inconsiderate opening by the twerp next to my car) but got a chap out who does paintless repairs. Amazing job ...cant see a crease line or anything. I was flabbergasted how good it was ... you would never know. All done with forming rods and mirrors. I'd expect Cellulose Thinners would work fine. Try a little mixed into a screw top bottle top or similar. See if anything is written on the container you have. If it instructs to clean your brush with Cellulose Thinners then you know that is a solvent of the paint within. It won't be White Spirit, Meths or Turps Substitute.
  4. Here ya go have a look here http://www.lexus.com/pdf/service/IS_LPS.pdf These are the Personalized Settings. Doesn't look like what you are looking for exists. Just use that override button and it will stop them opening out in your garage.
  5. Sorry to see you go matey. I imagine you'll get good interest for the sale. What are you changing to?
  6. If I remember correctly...you would have to go to a dealer ... as i think that comes under the Customizable Functions menu. You need a computer link up to view this. Unless you have one of those Techstream thingys.
  7. OK I'm confuzzled now!! I thought you were saying you did not know where this button was .... but clearly you do. What I'm saying is (if you are out in the freezy stuff) then, ... If you know it is going to freeze overnight, try to remember to manually flip up the mirrors before you turn off the ignition and get out of the car. Then the mirrors stay up when you unlock the car next morning...ie they won't unfold automatically against the constraints of the ice.
  8. If you have the button on the F Sport (sorry I'm not sure ... but it probably has, I would have thought) Then its the furthest button from you on the door armrest. Its a square button that is either 'up' or 'down'. Turn the ignition on and try pressing the button and you should see the mirrors move back up to the stowed position.
  9. +1 to that...John is right. It can be a bit unnerving on a frozen day. The mirrors will attempt opening when frozen .... so be careful. If I know it is going to freeze overnight, I try to remember to manually flip up the mirrors before I get out. Then they stay up when you unlock next morning.
  10. Hi take your time looking for a good car, there are plenty out there +1 to that .... sound advice
  11. Steve, Thank you for getting me back into the forum after the update/rebuild. I was going to message you, to say thanks, but you don't have a message link on your monniker. It was quite strange being told 'You are banned' when trying to log back in!! I guess with any update/rebuild of a site there are going to be changes. They don't seem too radical from what I've seen so far. In fairness post reply numbers are quite useful if you want to point someone to a particular note.
  12. I had a 220d a few years back. I was fortunate as mine gave good mpg. I found i could only use 6th when doing 80+ mph (usually when I was driving in France) At lower speeds the engine was labouring a bit and drone was an issue inside the cabin. 5th was best for me on a journey doing around 70-75mph. If I recall correctly, we drove back from Scotland to Bournemouth in one day and averaged close to 54mpg. My work run would give about 35mpg and other gadding about produced 44mpg. I did use AR6200 at fill ups and put a can of BG244 through the tank every 6-8000 miles. I also checked and cleaned the EGR regularly.
  13. I've had this happen to me. It was not the motor frozen up though. There was a layer of ice between the bottom of the mirror cowl and the mounting shoulder(where it fits to the door). Probably overnight rain that had frozen. It was locked up solid. Quick squirt of de-icer sorted it out.
  14. Be very careful if you want to change that Cabin/Pollen filter. I've been meaning to put up a guide with pics for the 250 ... but in the meantime ... here's one that will work for the is250. The only difference is the removeable shelf looks a tad different. If you've set the recirculate button correctly the filter lid will be in the 'up' position with the filter in full view. Credit to Connoisseur for the guide.
  15. Hi Carl you are quite right, the Arctic Pearl is a very nice colour. I liked it from the minute I saw it. Prior to that I was a little unsure.
  16. Ah well done iftikhar ... you won't regret moving to a 250auto, they are just grand.
  17. I'd certainly have a cordial upfront talk with the dealer to ascertain what their plans are. Be open .... tell them what you have unearthed about this engine and its inherent design flaws. It may well be, having investigated the costings, that they will be open to a refund to you. I suspect it may well be the cheaper long term option. I hope that is what happens for your peace of mind. One thing is for sure ... these engines need to be doing regular long journeys to stand a chance of staying relatively 'clean' ..... short journey run arounds they are certainly not. Best of good fortune with it all.
  18. I'd advise rejecting the car, within your statutory rights, as its not fit for purpose. Then look for a 250 auto. Even when repaired, the head can go again. It happened to someone on this forum. I don' say this without reason....i had a 220d in the past with the head going. If they try to fix it they will have to get a new head and all the associated parts from Lexus. AFAIK the old head cannot be skimmed.
  19. Have a look here....this may help http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/70947-diy-bluetooth-music-streaming-using-a2dp/ Others here have used the Vaistech system....at least I think that's what it was called. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/100070-usb-and-bluetooth/?hl=%2Bvaistech+%2Bbluetooth#entry920493
  20. I guess if it doesn't come back then it may be a moisture issue...bit puzzling though. I have heard of screen problems with some of the earlier models. Most of what I read related to the screen freezing/sticking. You can get screen replacements quite readily A few members have changed them
  21. Yep, I'd say they look like the wheels from a GS. I've seen them on a few GS450's locally.
  22. Can't help, no experience in this area,......but is this any help? http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/102078-rear-usb-socket/
  23. Lexus will charge around £350 for a new key and re-programming both back to your car. So there's a route to £500 off the price. I'd always want 2 key units. I don't think anyone but Lexus can do it.....as far as I understand.
