  1. There was talk..some years back ....of a known rattle emanating from within the door pillar between the seats. AFAIK it was solved by removing the centre pillar trim and tapping together some of the wiring to stop 'slap' against the trim or other parts. Maybe a bit of wadding in there may do the trick. Might be worth checking here if the one above doesn't prove the cure.
  2. Car outside all night...temp was 5° at start up. Initial burst at about1700rpm for about 12 seconds....then dropped to 1500rpm ...after another 10 secs dropped to 1100rpm
  3. Aah that's some distance. It would be a good move to put some info in your profile settings...car type, year, your location etc. Always useful to others looking to help or offer pointers. Well... There are quite a few N London chaps on here with 250's. C'mon chaps help a fellow owner out.
  4. Where abouts are you located? I'm near Bournemouth on the south coast. If you're near me at all ....... get your bulbs ....... and I'll put them in for you, and give you a walk-thru on how to do it for future reference.
  5. Well, the good news is ....the main beam and side light bulbs are very easy to replace. The dipped beam bulbs are a bit of a struggle to get at. Check your handbook for the exact bulb type.
  6. Yep its been a problem since the site update. OP's can't get in and edit their own posts....sorry You could try this one
  7. Ah well done mate....I was going to empty my boot at the weekend, photograph it and put up pics. Like you I could see this starting to go wrong.
  8. Another one here....advertising and not Gold member

  9. Well there you go then....just copy your discs onto a PC and then burn them as Data discs with something like Nero. You can get away with CD-RW's too. I've done a few of those and they work great. Just make sure the info like 'Artist' etc is there for each track and they'll have the info displayed on the screen. Or, if you have an ipod for eg get a lead of fleabay. One that has the 30 pin connector at one end and then splits to a mini jack and a usb. Get a twin mini usb socket to plug into the power outlet and the whole lot can be plugged in and powered in the armrest cubby. The lead and socket will be around £5 or less. Just a thought ............................................................................. I'll get my coat!
  10. So you can burn a disc of Mp3 tracks and it will play OK? Have I got that right?
  11. Top work matey.... very well done Slap on the back to you sir!! Did you get anywhere with the CD player sound?
  12. I'd suspect it is an SE or SEi ... traders often get it wrong. I saw a couple of SEi's advertised as SEL ....even 1 at a Lexus garage!!!
  13. That's a good point. Given the number of HG issues with the diesel engine, you would be wise to regularly take a look/check of that coolant level. Whilst there check the coolant for signs of oil droplets and pop the oil filer cap off and check for signs of oil/water sludge .... looks a bit like mayonnaise.
  14. Yep, it will take, typically up to 15-20 mins to get up to temperature. It is a drawback of the diesel engine on the Lexus. My petrol will be warming in about 5 mins or so.
  15. Yeah I don't think this can be done. For all the aggro and expense you'd be better up off hooking up a TomTom. Cheaper to update too!
  16. I've put a new link for the brakes in the How to section

Thanks normski2, appreciate it. I was hoping to tackle this today but my pads have not turned up from the supplier,😩 I don't suppose they will be here until Monday now, it's not good as I paid for 24 hr courier delivery!

I'll have a look at your blog all the same though, thanks again,

  17. Sorry ... a lot got messed up after the last site rebuild/update. Go here for the guide
  18. The tyre pressures should be on the driver's door pillar. I go by what is indicated. I have 18" wheels with 40 profiles and that's 35 in fronts and 38 in the rears
  19. I don't see a problem with doing this. When I bought my current 250 the owner had to clear his finance debt. This he did prior to my purchasing of the car and showed me all the paperwork confirming the debt had been cleared.
  20. Agreed on that point. Just had mine done....now they look the dog's danglers. The guy that did mine said he had done loads of Lexus wheels and agreed that their paint job on their wheels is rubbish. You could peel off near fag paper sized leaves from my wheels they were that bad.
  21. It was not an option in the UK market. As far as I know it was only available in the US. TBH I don't think its that clever an idea really. The glasses are being stored in a place that can get incredibly hot ...probably end up buckling the arms if you were unlucky.
