  1. Take a read through these old posts ... they may help The second one, at post 9 (bit greyed out but you can just make the number out!), has a pdf that shows where the various clips are located. Carl911 had good results from bits of rolled up felt pushed down where the clips are located.
  2. I do mine every year Here is a post with a video about cleaning the MAF
  3. Mine sits in the cubby box, with the lid closed, connected vis the usb port (to charge it) and bluetoothed to the car. Never want to be caught looking at it ....too wisky
  4. If well maintained then 120,000 is not a big issue in all honesty. I assume you are looking at Auto transmission
  5. From Noobie's previous posts the grease is 08887-83010. Its about £10 a tube. There is no permanent fix ..... the pins have to be greased. Do them once a year. It will save money and the more you do it the quicker you'll be at it. You can find it on ebay too.
  6. Sal Sal had a mk2.5 with a detachable hardtop for some years. Last August we sold it and hunted out a mk3.5 (2010) with the power retractable roof. Super little motor ... can't fault it. The MX5 owners club is a good forum to join. I've found it very helpful since I joined and like here it's filled with good folk.
  7. Don't leave here completely old friend .... We need some of the dry humour as it gets a bit intense from time to time I can do without some of the needless intensity. This place, along withe mx5 club is one of the best for helpful people that I have come across so far. Dunno what we'll do if newbie goes!!!!!! Best make him a Saint !
  8. Ah I see. Fancied a 250C for a while but have made do with the good lady's power roofed mx5. We quite often 'pinch' each other's car! Enjoy the RX ..... I'm sure you will.
  9. This is quite a good post to have a nose through ....especially Steve's link to a fix for a broken rod. Some problems may be headed off by the occasional greasing/checking of the ball joints. Going to check mine when I next do the slide pins in April.
  10. If you are handy with spannering, take a read of these. Covers fronts and rears Hope that helps
  11. IS250 Auto Real world mpg I have found to be 27-31mpg around town and on shorter journeys 36-42mpg on a good motorway run using cruise control It is a very comfortable car and one of the most reliable cars you could find. Have you had a read through this?
  12. Yes, notifications were sent months back. I had a letter last September. When they actually get around to doing it is anyone's guess. Have not heard of anyone on the UK Lexus forum having it done yet. A post was started here
  13. They do a sealant too. It has a slight vinegar odour that soon passes. I've found that to be effective too. Brush that on as well and wipe off excess as you do with cleaner. The brush I use is akin to the old style shoe brush with what I'd describe as medium stiffness and natural bristle. Don't use a brush that's too soft as it won't be so effective. I wouldn't advise using a brush with nylon bristles, that can be a bit abrasive if you're not careful. The leather will feel remarkably different when cleaned. Start at the top and work downwards. I was surprised to see dirt streaks from dribbles into the area below where I was working when cleaning the seat backs. It proved to me how dirty my leather had become. Wish I'd taken pictures with drivers seat done and passenger seat untouched.
  14. This vid will give a good indication of rubbing with a brush. I found the brush much more effective than a cloth. You can get a good lather generated and work right into the grain of the leather. I found Dodo to be one of the best.
  15. Just a thought ...... did you use a softish bristled brush to apply the Dodo juice. Did my seats about 6 months back and the result was very very impressive. Using a brush I was able to get a good lather going and you could readily see the muck on the wipe off cloth. Couple of squirts and do a patch around 40 x 40 cams at a time. I have ivory coloured leather too.
  16. I thought Bank 1 Sensor 1 was drivers side? The easier one to replace. But you are absolutely right to advise doing both.
  17. Wow.... ya lucky devil. My wife loves driving the Lexus so she pinches it far too frequently. Don't mind though .... as I get to take her MX5 for a spin, which I have to say is very enjoyable. So it's a fair trade!
  18. Yes I noticed but it's no biggee really. Sometimes the mods (if they see it) will move it over to the right area. Don, if you want to look in the right area for your car go here. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/forum/127-lexus-is-250-lexus-is-250c-club-lexus-is-220d-is-200d-club/
  19. Yes you will be fine A3 is for extended service intervals This may help ACEA This is the European equivalent of API (US) and is more specific in what the performance of the oil actually is. A = Petrol, B = Diesel and C = Catalyst compatible or low SAPS (Sulphated Ash, Phosphorus and Sulphur). Unlike API the ACEA specs are split into performance/application catagories as follows: A1 Fuel economy petrol A2 Standard performance level (now obsolete) A3 High performance and/or extended drain A4 Reserved for future use in certain direct injection engines A5 Combines A1 fuel economy with A3 performance
