    Unfortunately, the link you've put up leads to a June 2013 brochure, that won't show all the versions available for 2014 - and it doesn't show the car you're interested in.

    This is an October 2015 catalog that does show the specifications  (for that model year) and includes the Executive.

  3. I'll attach a document to this post. If you look at page 37 you'll see a section called "Practices to follow for best results".   This is a tiresome section, that no one should bother with - do you really expect a technician to roll the car back and forth by turning a rear wheel to let the steering settle on it's own?

    There's other parts of this document that also are just timewasters, and best ignored.

    You need to find someone committed to using a wheel alignment machine properly, preferably someone who will let you watch while they do it.  Hard to find, but great to cultivate a relationship with the people who do the aligning!

  4. Hopefully in you entertainment booklet thing there will be a page like this for when you type things in. For me, it was "change type" followed by "other" in the keyboard list.  The sort of set up a 15 year old would make for his ICT gcse project.

  5. Oh, absolutely annoying! I had this!   Two solutions.

    Solution 1 is to use the setting where you write the letter by hand.  But the better solution, irritating as it is, get as far as you need to then change keyboard to one with capital letters, then change back.

    There's possibly a proper solution, but I didn't find it.

  6. I've had alignment problems in my previous LS.  When it comes to it, you need people who you can trust. Many alignment places just don't really know what they are doing, and this includes Lexus dealers who've been sold Hunter machines in the hope of making some easy money.

    There are two things that come to mind. First, has the steering wheel been properly centred before adjustments are made?  Just because the car has driven onto the thingie doesn't mean that it's in the correct position.  The car needs to be driven onto the stand, straightened, then rolled off the rotating platform at the front and rolled back on. Then the angles can be checked and adjusted.  And you need to stress the need for the steering wheel to be centred at this point.

    Then get the back wheels done too.  If they're out, then the car will try to steer one way or another when you put in power.

    But ultimately, you do need someone who knows what they're doing.  Find a specialist if you need to, or just someone who knows what he's doing, and actually cares.

    If I were you, I'd go with  @googsy 's suggestion!

  7. Wow! ... I've not seen that document before.  A different approach to selling the LS in AU.

    The boot space thing.  There are two things that eat into the boot space.  On the L sport, it will be the rear chair stuff, such as the cooling stuff.  On the 600 there's even less space because they've got the hybrid Battery under the boot.  I lived with an LS with a 385 capacity boot also with a growing family of 3.  The space was a challenge.  To be honest, the boot in my 430, which was about 550 litres was only just comfortable with 5 large suitcases in.

    If the Australian L sport had been available here I'd have bought one.  Lexus's gorgeous, naturally aspirated V8 engine is an absolute dream, plus the vehicle had all the kit (and a little more) than my 460.

    Sorry not to be very encouraging in all this.

    If you do get an LS, however, you may well find it very difficult to be happy in any other car afterwards, and you may, like me, be stuck with them for life.

  8. Hiya,

    In this country F sport was only ever used as far as I know for a 460 version.  The 600 (which had the longer wheelbase) was called Premier.  In 2015, for instance, there were two versions of the 460, the luxury and the F sport.  Both versions of the 460 had been seriously nerfed by Lexus after 2009, and all the better kit was only available on the 600.  There was boggo straightforward cruise on the 460 by this time - the adaptive cruise which was available between 2006- 2009 on the 460 was now only available on the 600. Significant bits of the safety system had also been despecified.

    If you find a British 600 you'll get the full kit, and it will be called Premier.  The F sport was never popular.  Something like 9 or 10 went out to dealers as demonstrators in 2014.  I watched them online;  it took years before they disappeared from forecourts, and even now there are only 11 F sports in existence ( there were a maximum of 13 around at one time).  Personally I thought it was offensive that Toyota/Lexus would offer this car which now had so little left to it.  About 60 Luxuries were sold, but, again, same thing - a badly nerfed shell of a car.

  9. Hi, I presume it's the aura around the compass icon that's the problem. What it looks like to me an oily fingerprinty smear  on the optics.  Have you tried a cloth on the top cover of the hud unit?  If not, I'm presuming its on the lens (inside the box!) or the object screen (also inside the box)

    It's unfortunate that Twickenham couldn't be bothered.

    Fish Brothers in Swindon Lexus haven't done anything yet to offend me, but the way that Lexus dealers are set up does make it difficult to get anything more technical than changing wiper blades done.

    Incidentally, I've gone minimal on my display. Speed, speed limit, and the lane keep/cruise  I have on, but have turned off the rest as just too much information!

    Yes, you will need a passport. :thumbup:

    Ireland is in the EU, but it's also in the CTA - common travel area - for people from Ireland, Britain and Northern Ireland.

    There is no legal requirement for a passport for British people to visit Ireland - you can come and go as you please.   When you arrive you may be asked by customs what nationality you are, but when you say British they won't normally pester you anymore.

    Having a passport with you can however be useful if you need to prove your ID.  But so is a driving licence.

  12. First, the tyre size.  Two different sizes of tyre were originally fitted to this model of car. The size of tyre is either 235/55R18 or 225/60R17.  This is because there have been two different sizes of wheel hub fitted.  One type has a diameter of the metal hub of 18 inches, the other 17 inches.

    You can check the size of the fitted tyres by looking for a set of letters and numbers, with the slash in the middle, in big writing on the side of your tyres.

    The bit above, is the metal dish that holds the bottom of the spring? Try passing something between it- such as a bit of cardboard. If it's not touching (and it won't be, because, as you say, you'd have worn down that bit of tyre) then everything is ok.

    Incidentally, if you look at blackcircles.com (who sell tyres online), and put in your car registration, it should tell you the size of tyres that your car needs. 

    The reason you can see so much spring is that the body is higher than a saloon car. This means the wheels have the space to travel up and down if you're driving off road.

    The only issue that I can see is that if the tyres are 5 years old then they may start to perish very soon - but they will have been checked when you had your last MOT.
