  1. Similiar to BMW M and Merc AMG cars I guess - hence why we have loads of Mercs and BMWs with inappropriate AMG and M badges Dread the days when I have to put an F on the RX to fit in with the rest of the population.....
  2. My dealers will match any shop within 5 miles for prices but only like for like. Works well for things like AC regas and MOTs but not for tyres as the OEM ones are usually quite specific and many places dont stock them. The OEM ones on the IS last for donkeys miles. They're 5.5mm on the IS (bridgestones) and done 16k miles. On the contrary, the RX ones dont last, 17k miles and needed a new pair up front. Lexus will fit tyres - mine charge £10+VAT per tyre so you can get them from an online shop and get them fitted. Personally, I would stick with just 2 on rear. No point changing all 4 when only 2 are bad.
  3. Its official - Lexus Europe has announced they are discontinuing the GS They also mentioned that the ES has more leg room than an LS (how is that possible?!) and that value will be one of its main goals.
  4. Yep. that things worth no more than £25k
  5. Because the mid saloon segment is literally covered by company cars and fleet vehicles, all being diesel
  6. Thats Sonic Titanium (the most common colour on a Lexus nowadays and I hate it with a passion) Vanilla mist is more sand colour and Satin Silver is conventional silver
  7. Yes but different price points and sizes. To be fair, the new Avalon reviews are fairly favourable. Redline Reviews did one recently and usually, he's not very fond of Lexus/Toyota - always talking about the Germans.
  8. Cant be any worse than the current GS though can it really.
  9. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FRONT-TOP-SHOCK-ABSORBER-STRUT-MOUNT-BEARING-For-LEXUS-RX270-RX350-RX450H-08-/252734089227 Used to make a strut mount with bearing for the RX450h although its no longer available now. Surely they must be changeable then. And they're perishing items so I wouldn't imagine you need to change the whole suspension unit just for 1 disposable part.
  10. On a side note - panoramic sunroof :D
  11. Urm pretty sure its removable - look at second diagram https://parts.lexusofkendall.com/oem-parts/lexus-strut-4851080635
  12. As others have already mentioned, it should have a better fit and finish, as well as a more refined and comfortable ride for those who want it. I would imagine AWD to be on the cards somewhere, especially as North America seem to absolutely love it. Maybe in a few years time. The new IS is coming out in 2020, so not far off.
  13. Think you need confidence more than anything especially if not used it before. I generally just look in side mirrors and the reversing camera, don't even bother looking behind as it seems to be a relatively wide angle lens
  14. Top suspension mounts i.e. strut bearings. Normal wear and tear on an 8-9 year old car. Part should be relatively cheap, i can't imagine it being more than £100 each at dealer prices. What they trying to do, sell you the whole suspension unit?! Indie quoted me £100 parts and labour on a MK5 Golf. I suspect dealer would be more expensive but hey, nowhere near £700 each!
  15. If the RX seats are firm, you must have been sitting in custard or something
  16. Nope, it's the same in the NX as the RX, IS and RC. No issues on both ours.
  17. Agrees, looks good but like I mentioned, the packaging is rubbish. How they've managed to make a wider vehicle than an RX with poor interior space is beyond me. Headroom is very bad in the back
  18. Yep almost certainly. We live in a society where people are happy to moan but not to do anything about it. If that scumbag got caught, and possibly even got done for criminal damage maybe they'd think twice about buggering off next time. Regardless, jobs a good un.
  19. Pressure washer. Most of it can be cleaned from outside the vehicle from inside the arches. Rest of it using a mitt and shampoo. Rinse off with an open hose
  20. All that aside Looks brilliant - hate the colour though, its flipping sonic titanium aka dirty beige Much better in white I think - but then Im biased The interior quality looks to be on par with the current GS if not better. The door panels especially look fantastic and looking at the grain pattern, appear to be half leather (or faux leather)
  21. Lol shouldnt be that much unless they were programming it directly to the interface in the centre. Should be around £300 for rear sensors. I guess the main issue you've got with the other issues is that you've opted for the SE which is the lowest trim level so doesnt come with rear folding seats etc
  22. Steering wheel is low and the hip point for the seats have been lowered to make it "feel" sportier, as in sitting inside rather than on top
  23. The Blue doesn't do the ES any favours to be honest. Seems to suit lighter colours. This was the interior photo I got sent originally on snapchat:
  24. Does have to be medium-well done for me.
  25. Its basically just an updated version of the 300h in the NX with a coast function to save fuel. The real question is, where is the extra 15hp coming from, the engine, the motors or both combined? 15hp doesn't sound like much but I certainly notice 9hp combined in the RX as the actual engine feels stronger compared to the 3RX due to having a bit more power. I suspect they'll drop it into the NX in 2020 as well.
