  1. Nah wouldn't on any Lexus to be honest. All issues are usually fixed during the warranty period if there are any. Im on my 4th Lexus and nothing has gone wrong with any of them
  2. Its not the mileage im concerned about. Its the age of the vehicle. Bearings, rubber components etc still get old and damaged regardless of their use. Sometimes its actually more common for these things to happen on vehicles which aren't used very often compared to cars which do more miles.
  3. Not really much to look out for on these apart from service history. Otherwise they are generally bulletproof. Mileage isn't the problem really so you could go higher mileage if you wanted. The only issue I can see with keeping it 3 years is that you'd have to sell it and then buy another car at that point in time which would probably make little difference in terms of outright cost. In your position, Id try to get a good condition car with low mileage for your budget regardless of its age and then just keep for 4/5 years. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201804235832498?advertising-location=at_cars&postcode=wf177rs&price-to=17000&model=RX 450H&make=LEXUS&radius=1500&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New&sort=mileage&page=1 Something like the above would be ideal - Good SE-L spec too
  4. 1) can it even be done on these? 2) NA engine - probably not much to gain whatsoever. Remaps are designed for turbo engines.
  5. Its a bit of a gimmick to be honest - much prefer the older speed limit on the nav display. Those were much more accurate
  6. Not entirely true - the 450h can reach up to 40mpg on a run, never seen an RX350 get above 30mpg ever.
  7. Thats a pathetic way to look at things. If you don't want issues, buy a new car with a warranty, simple as. You've bought a car that's reaching almost 10 years old. What did you expect? These things are bulletproof but still have wear and tear components like top suspension mounts, bushings etc
  8. Not worth it. Guaranteed for 3 years means you have to follow their wash procedures and use those products to maintain the coating. Leather clean and seal kits can be found for less than £30 nowadays, just do it once a year and it should generally be OK. Paint protection needs to be maintained as well, otherwise whats the point.
  9. I would suggest an older vehicle with relatively low mileage say 30-50k if you plan on putting 20-25k miles per year and keeping it for a while. Only reason is that it'll help to reduce some of the depreciation if its an older vehicle with a bit higher miles than usual compared to a newer one with a lot more miles than usual
  10. It does appear that the tyres do make a lot of difference on the NX though in terms of ride comfort and noise. Unfortunately, the RX doesn't have many options unlike the NX in terms of tyres, so I don't know whether they'd make a huge difference on the RX as I opted for the OEM bridgestones
  11. The Brembo ECP brakes are the same as Brembo brakes from anywhere else. Additionally, if you buy the Pagid ones from ECP for the IS-F, you'll realise that they're actually Brembo's in a Pagid packaging lol
  12. Thats fair enough - the main issue with the SMG I found was on hills. Having done research beforehand, I knew it might have been troublesome so decided to do a reverse parallel park on a fairly steep hill on the test drive. Lets just say it was quite an experience and took much longer than it should have done. Of course, all irrelevant if you never park on hills but worth bearing in mind. Anyways, in terms of IS-F any in particular you've seen around or interested in?
  13. Dont think so, its bloody massive and some people don't want that. The IS sells pretty well in Europe and USA so it'd be stupid to get rid of it.
  14. Hello again Gib I remember we had a few heated discussions when you were active on here previously, however, its always good to see a familiar profile back on the forum, so ill try to be nice to you this time Both IS-F and E46 M3 are very nice vehicles. However, it appears the good examples of the M3 are at around £15k+. They are almost sure to gain value in the future, however, its much more likely that they also suffer from rust underneath and they aren't the most reliable of things anyway if that makes a difference to you. The E46 is pretty practical for a 2 door coupe and arguably more involving for track use. It tends to have a lot more potential for modifications as well with plenty of owners going down the eibach springs route etc. I wouldn't recommend the SMG though, its genuinely crap and I dont understand why so many people love it. I get the arguments that you have to learn it, lift off before shifting etc etc but its still bad. 2 years ago, I passed at the opportunity at getting myself an E46 M3 in Silverstone with Blue leather interior. Was a mint example and I should have snapped it up for the price it was back then - £13k-ish
  15. Lexus use the hunter machine too. They also will price match Kwik Fit. Ideally, you shouldn't need an alignment after every tyre change unless its wearing oddly, in which case it is a bit so I would get Lexus to change the rear tyres (supplied by yourself) and get them to price match the Kwik Fit alignment
  16. Yep, been around for a while - not exactly urgent as such
  17. Fronts look fine, rears look really bad
  18. Correction - 1 car that I know of fitted from factory. The Silver RC-F with the carbon wheels has had them put on afterwards. They werent available as an option at the point that the car was registered
  19. Yes they will fit any tyre as long as it is Brand New with the stickers still on them. Its just that Lexus stock the OEM ones - they won't be stocking other brands. Their stock consists of Bridgestone, Dunlop and Yokohama for the regular vehicles and Michelin for the performance cars. The IS does wear on the rear inner edge. However. I had an alignment done and its about 1mm lower than the middle and outside. So yes, makes a difference in that the tyres inner edge wont drop off as quickly but it wont cure the problem completely
  20. The RC-F Carbon wheels did become an option at some point on the Standard RC for about £995 I think. Only 1 non-carbon has had them fitted that I know of.
  21. The 4RX is pretty much as quiet if not quieter than a GS at speed. Ride is about the same trim for trim. Obviously don't go for the F-Sport if you want a smoother ride - the benefit of the F-Sport though is going round bends and roundabouts in Sport+ mode, its a bit unrealistic tbh for such a big, long thing Oh and the power though, nothing really like it in the Lexus range bar the F models, especially with the loss of the GS450h
  22. F-Sport badges, get it right Colin...... Nowadays even the BMW 118d M-Sport's have little M badges everywhere - atleast Lexus decided to stick to F-Sport rather than F badges!
  23. Yep, I wonder why they didn't just use the original IS-F and F-Sport wheel colour. Maybe they ran out and forgot the paint code, then realised nobody else had it either so mixed up another colour
  24. Yep, as Colin said its 3RX and 4RX differences. So combined output on the 4RX is 308hp and 262hp from the combustion engine. Similiar to how the combined output on an RC is 223hp and 178hp from the engine. The 4RX actually came out at the end of 2015. Earliest registered ones are Dec 2015.
  25. Thought the wheels looked on point in person. Have a nice concavity in the middle of the wheels. But, I think there's something off with the colour - they look much darker than F-Sport wheels and original IS-F wheels.
