Yep thats true. Gone are the old days of "saving up" for a car as such. Nowadays, you need maybe £5k max for a deposit on a £40-50k car. Most will try to keep the deposit down to £2-3k and pay higher monthly rates. Of course, there's always the ability to get finance separately and then buy the car privately, but its much more hassle than just going to the dealer. -
Thats the LC Base wheel I agree, look much better than the chrome Sport+ ones. They look to be the perfect size as well. I think the 21" ones are too big and makes the car look like its come out of hot wheels

Yes, unfortunately, with the rise of PCP and HP, selling cars for cash is quite difficult, especially privately if its worth anything more than £20-30k. Additionally, the RC is fairly rare and being a coupe, not many people really want them whereas SUVs are of the rage nowadays. These cars seem to lose value almost constantly regardless of mileage up to 10k per year, so you'll find that an 8 month old vehicle with 8k miles on will probably be worth similiar money. Its just how things go, hence why its almost always more cost effective to actually use the vehicle than sitting it around. Not to mention, selling it in the first year is always going to be the biggest hit. You essentially lose all of the VAT that you paid on it the moment you drive it off the forecourt. -
I just spray on the seats and brush it in, then remove with a damp MF.

The interior quality on the Model X, let alone the Model S or Model 3 is rubbish. You do literally pay through the nose for the tech. Similiar thing with the I-pace. They promised everyone it'd be £56k but what do you actually get? Not much but a shell and poor packaging in a decent looking vehicle. It hits £70-75k to the same spec as something like an RX. Tesla have a huge issue on their hands because the big guns will be coming in soon with their own EVs. Toyota, BMW, Merc, VAG all have them in the pipeline. Volvo have ditched diesel for any new cars after the V60 and have an aggressive EV policy for the future as well

Change them based on mileage. The usual Lexus service books actually say 60k miles but dont have a time frame for when they need changing. Green Spark Plug Co is good for spark plugs, and genuine. I usually buy all of mine from them - need about 8 every year for servicing the lawnmowers, chainsaws, trimmers etc etc and never had an issue.

Generally I think it depends on the vehicle. A fairly new vehicle with dealer stamps and no invoices, I wouldnt be concerned as its very easy to ring the dealer up and check if its been done. Invoices are always a plus, but many people don't keep them, especially when buying an older vehicle. Personally, once a car gets over 8 years old, I tend to buy on condition rather than service history. More often than not, a car which has been looked after is pretty easy to spot.

It's not usually the fuel itself that's the issue. It's the additives added to it afterwards which makes the difference and there is some evidence out there to suggest that supermarket fuels = reduced long term economy be it through lack of cleaning the engine well enough or other factors. I know that my wife's previous car didn't like supermarket fuel - specifically sainsburys and would idle at 500 rpm more on it. The RX has a subtle shivering to it on tesco fuel when started cold and certainly doesn't feel the same. Have you ever noticed your cars feeling better when a fresh tank of fuel is put in? its hard to explain but it drives smoother and has better response - it's similiar to that and subtle enough that some people won't notice it, others just won't care -
Maybe but then some could say the I30N driver couldn't afford a golf GTI..... lol The GTI is more fun than the R is though. The wheels struggling for grip is always fun. Golf R is a point and shoot weapon. That wasn't intentional haha. No seriously, they've obviously had to cut costs somewhere to make it £40k spec for spec where rivals would cost north of £50k but the way it drives, handles etc is on par with things like the 340i. Personally I think it looks good too. The best bit is the fishtailing though when flooring it at 30-40mph. Wiggles around like a snake - lovely! I was seriously thinking of one to replace the IS but it needs servicing every 6K when i asked and my wife thinks it's too big for her.

Won't make any difference for an RX400h apart from cleaning out the engine a bit more. As above though, better off using Redex or similiar instead as its a cheaper way to do it. I generally use a decent brand of fuel, BP mainly just because they're all BP around here and they're usually cheaper than Shell/Esso around here anyway. Not a fan of supermarket fuel as Ive had issues with it in the past. -
Well no, but a GTI is quite a rare site around here. They're either all Golf R's or GTDs. In the right colour, with the right spec, they look great, not to mention, you won't look like a 5 year old child driving one around. Since when do Hyundai make reliable cars though? We have a few in the family from the I20 to the Tucson and they have more issues than the VAG cars in the family which includes a 10 year old MK5 Golf. Its just offset by the warranty really. I think the worst thing are the interiors though. If they got that right, it would be great.

The old Mylexus was fine. Simple and fairly easy to use. The new one just looks more appealing but everything is hidden inside menus

Use the water drop test. Put a drop of water on the seats and time how long it takes to soak in. If it soaks into the leather in 5 mins, you've removed the coating. Technically, the water drop should still be there 20 mins later unless its really hot in the car of course However, I should say that the red seats on my IS and RX do bleed, and so did the black ones on the previous RX. However, I only did it once a year and it made no difference in 5 years of ownership. The coating was clearly there so I suspect the colour was coming from the perforations

So it appears that My Lexus has changed in terms of appearance but also in function, unless Im being stupid! I can no longer see the service history of my vehicles - don't know whether its because im not looking in the right place, or if they've removed it Anyone else?

ECO mode I would have thought? the 3RX in Normal is a bit sluggish as well but it goes very well in Sport mode. -

They're not official figures, they're independent figures from a cabin noise testing company. Just seems to go against what almost everyone says including me. The GS is quiet but its not noticeably quieter than an RX. Obviously the ride will be dependent on spec though. But the Premier spec GS has similiar wheels to the F-Sport GS so in terms of noise should be louder. -

I've had extensive mileage in all Lexus vehicles past 2005. The 4RX is not any more noisy than the GS so I dont know what you've been hearing. Interior quality of the RX and GS are almost identical too. The RX actually registers 60.1dB at 70mph. The GS450h 59-63.0 dependent on spec, NX300h 61.7 and the IS300h 63.5dB. So if you think about it, the GS is almost the noisiest car tested in F-Sport trim
