Sold as seen essentially means that they're trying to flog you the car without warranty etc. This means that they are trying to sell you a car for which they have no responsibility after the sale. However, by law, dealers can't do this and its illegal to sell a car "Sold as Seen". They can call it what they like but dealers still have to abide by Consumer Contracts. Therefore, you can buy the car sold as seen, if it develops a fault which is not due to wear and tear, the dealership is liable. Shove that in their face and see what they say but they sound like crooks if they're still trying that on

California is a minority compared to the whole of America, Canada, Europe and every other country in the world. Its an extremely small sample size in the grand scheme of things. California also has decent charging infrastructure whereas other states don't. Time and time again, you keep posting skewed data. For reference, Quarter 1 for Tesla was 30k units. BMW group electric vehicles sold 37k in the same time period of the same year. These are worldwide figures. So for a company focusing entirely on mass production EV's, they aren't doing as well as one would hope

Again, manipulation of stats. Look at the small area i.e. california. Then compare brand new car sales to vehicles which are much older. The 3 series is almost 6 years old. Everyone knows that the first few years are usually the largest in terms of registrations for cars so all I can see from those figures is that BMW and Merc are actually doing pretty well considering the age of their vehicles The new 3 series will have a model called the I4 - an EV which will land in 2020. Tesla has a lot of competition and its only a matter of time before their Tesla Motors side of things goes bankrupt or sales dwindle.

I presume the only feasible way is to put charging points on streets. I.e. have 2-3 roadside boxes with 5-10 charging points in them and then they can just drag the wires across I can see our suing culture becoming worse with that idea though.

The Kubler Ross model is a bunch of BS in practice though. Most people don't go through the stages, chop and change through different stages and some never get to the end, or even start on the cycle to begin with. Ive got a detached house, plenty of place to charge an EV but the fact of the matter is that they're too expensive and you don't get value for money. Bring me an EV which can do 500 miles on one charge, charge in less than 5 minutes and cost under £60k new without looking like an EV and Ill scoop it up tomorrow because it will suit my lifestyle quite well. I also don't despise going to the petrol station like some do. It gives me something to do rather than being bored in the British weather waiting for the car to charge....

No, not really and I think you've got completely the wrong end of the stick. The EV idea is good and very likely to become the future. The problem with it at the moment is that there are too many downsides to having one. These are: 1) Range anxiety. Despite not many people doing 300+ miles in a day, the range anxiety still persists. Its mainly due to thinking of "what if" situations. Say you lived in Scotland and your parents were down South. Imagine a situation where you don't have enough charge to get there in time and having to wait around for the car to charge before setting off. Alternatively, whilst they don't happen often, powercuts do occur and can leave you stranded. Additionally, when you start to floor these things, they rapidly lose juice, as they do in winter as well, after all, they are no different to standard batteries. 300 miles is still an absolute joke for a modern vehicle. My RX hasn't got a huge tank, and it doesn't exactly sip fuel but it still gets a real 450 miles out of a tank without any hassle, worry or effort. 2) Specific to Tesla - their build quality is rubbish and Im not sure many people would want to get out of their premium saloons with plush materials to downgrade in terms of material quality. Very cheap feeling plastics all over the vehicle and some models are using Mercedes switchgear from 2011. 3) These things aren't exactly reliable - forums are riddled with issues. The model S still has issues and its been going for a long long time. What about after a number of years too? Long term reliability is yet to be seen. 4) Cost - EVs are still expensive despite a certain someone saying that battery costs will be going down. I don't see anyone reducing the price of EVs anytime soon either. They're all more expensive for what you get at the moment and I swear Model S has actually gone up in price recently. I understand that some people really don't care about what their vehicles look like, or feel like, and are happy to use it as transport and nothing else. I mean look at it, it doesn't exactly look special either does it? It doesn't really matter because we live in the UK and we don't use the EPA here anyway.

An e-golf can do 186 miles for £24k after discounts and grants lol So someone might argue that you're paying £21k for 124 miles of range. Yes Ok its not exactly quick but hey, why would you want to go quick in an EV anyway. For £45k I would probably just get a used F, M, AMG or RS car and spend the rest on petrol if I wanted speed

0-60mph in 4.5s with a 310 mile range is hardly ground breaking though A Golf R can do 4.6s equipped with DSG, has more range and is much cheaper to buy. I dont doubt the quality is much better too. If you want to complain about quality, then an S3 would do nicely. If we're going to start talking about mods, these can do sub 4s with a tune. Why someone would pay £45k for renault grade plastics is beyond me

For a start, its not a new car. The model itself is nearly 5 years old now but when it came out, there werent any discounts available for the 1st year which is the usual Lexus standard. You're also manipulating the stats and comparing total production of Tesla Model 3 to UK IS sales. For a start, Tesla are not making 5000/week, they are making 3566/week updated 21/05/2018 They've only built 40k units since the beginning of January 2017 In contrast, 2312 IS still sold in the US alone in 2017-18. Not bad for a car thats 5 years old and coming towards the end of its lifespan. "Better product" is subjective. More fashionable maybe but we'll have another BMW, Merc, Audi situation again if these things get too popular - every tom, ***** and harry will have one if they manage to boost production, which is unlikely anytime soon since they can't seem to meet their targets for production or quality

Base Model S is £66k pretty much. Conversion factor is US/1.14 It'd still be £47-48k Early 2019 in Tesla timing is probably 2020 to be honest.

$54k total in US will pretty much mean £52-53k in the UK...... If you ordered it now, you'll probably get it by 2021, sort of the same time as when everybody other manufacturer has made and sold their EVs 😂

I think LR and RR generally hold their value quite well but it depends on the waiting list. Did you manage to own one when they first came out? Typically, they don't tend to lose anything in the first year if you've got hold of it early and due to demand. Happened with the Porsche Macan, where 1-2 year old ones were the same price, or higher than buying one new! But yes, it doesn't work on the RC because its been out a while now.

Yes, the petrol itself has to meet a british standard. But, what they add afterwards is different. All have different formulations and I can guarantee that Asda add less additives than Shell for example. Just because its a minimum standard, doesn't mean that some fuels are not exceeding those standards

Main issues I can see is its too new, very rare, somewhat impractical for the general population and not at a dealer. These vehicles are very hard to sell privately and Lexus dealers tend to be the main source of new cars. TBH unless it's under £20k or 5 years old I wouldn't bother even trying to sell a Lexus privately Also it depends on where you got your guide price, because they vary massively. The only real ones are Glass and HPI (formerly CAP)

Bloody hell you got through loads then - Id probably need 2 bottles to get around the RX. Have you tried other products, like BH Korrosol, Carchem Revolt etc? If you need loads, Autosmart Red7 is the way to go as it comes in 5L and is much cheaper than the others

I still get text messages. I got one for my old car as well and was like "what?!" because it was a generic text for the service and MOT but on my latest car I already had it done in January so rung up and they took the old car off the record so its still there. That was this month. Which car they have available is luck of the draw on the day. Ive got CTs before as well as a few IS and the NX.

Are yours runflats as well? I know the 21" ones are. Its all getting a bit ridiculous with wheels now. The 21" ones on the new Audi's with an elastic band tyre just look daft - even worse when they're all scuffed up from the kerbs
