Yes the Premier has an LED unit. The whole unit needs to be changed once they go.
Its not outrageous, just the way LED units are.. These aren't cheap £10 halogen bulbs we're talking about and all cars with LED light units need the whole unit replaced rather than a bulb
However, Its very unlikely for the unit to fail and I would check for other causes like fuses
Appears that you are correct -
Doesnt seem to mention it in the brochure either - just says power tailgate.
Why would you leave that feature out? Just seems a bit odd
Yep unfortunately when houses were being made, they didnt exactly plan for the future!
You can actually get some padded material which sticks to the walls if damage is your main concern, providing you can get out in the tightest of spaces.
My RX pretty much takes over the whole space with very little either side - hence why I usually park quite far away!
The UX is only 3cm wider than an IS - thats 1.5cm on each side and I dont think you would notice it
The length is quite a lot shorter than an IS.
In the grand scheme of things, the UX is a pretty small car.
The main problem nowadays is that the vast majority of Garages are absolutely tiny. They wouldn't fit in a mid size saloon car which should atleast be the standard.
Yes they should do. They're much more stable than the early ones.
The 13 plates up to 14 plates used to come on software causing crashes and glitches. I updated mine myself when we could download them ourselves off Lexus Tech website and haven't had an issue since.
The only reviews that I bother watching nowadays
In terms of the interior, the moving bit is a bit wierd and I would assume that will almost certainly be fixed on production models. As for the materials, the lower doors are no different to a GS. These are all pre-production models. I remember when they tested the RX pre-production models in the US and they had a few trim pieces moving about and all sorts
Its quite funny when they say - "oh you do hear the engine when you floor it" - yet I heard very little.... or maybe Im going hard of hearing
Oh my, If I remember correctly, didn't the RX win a test in Carwow against an X5 - that stirred things up in the comments lol
And it does burnouts!!
They take the mick to be honest. Have you been in an E class? There's cheap plastic everywhere. There's metal effect plastic buttons for gods sake.
The door cards are plastic but audi uses door pulls that are plastic yet nobody says anything. You have to pay £200-300 for a leather pack.
I didn't think the other cars come with leather dashboards either?
Also we're talking about a bunch of idiots who said that the GS-F had an indecisive gearbox, scratchy plastics and switchgear from a bygone era
The ergonomics are fine in the new RX. I can't complain and never look for where things are.
I thought the 3RX had a sliding armrest which can be left in that position?
It's for the active sound control. It makes a noise to simulate gear changes to provide an "enjoyable driving experience".
Personally I think it's rubbish and leave it off
Ive downloaded the app now too.
So from what I understand - whether you register on the app or MyLexus, its the same thing and you just use the same username and password to login to both
However, MyLexus on desktop doesnt have any service info
The app has quite detailed info but the vehicle needs to be verified using V5
The 16" wheel/tyre combination is designed for economy in mind, not performance so Im not surprised by the behaviour as the tyres are relatively narrow for quite a big car.
In 16" size the tyres are mainly touring tyres rather than performance ones as well, especially those that have a huge sidewall.
Lexus released the official AVS update in December 2016. I would presume 66 plates registered after this would have AVS fitted but, there are always some cars which lie around for a bit and don't get registered so its not a hard fact. However, its unlikely the AVS is fitted to the September 66 plate.
Presumably the AVS ones have a Sport S+ mode unlike the others?
Caliper colour is Orange on all GS-F's - bright orange!
There's an absolutely fantastic looking Sonic Titanium GS-F with red leather and 17k on Autotrader for £38k.
Im half tempted - would only have to put £1k down if swapping the RX.....hmmmm
When sorting my son's insurance out with Admiral, I asked about this
They gave a £25 discount for having the dashcam. However, they said that seen as though I told them I have a dashcam on that car, they would still ask for footage even if I didn't want the discount. Obviously, took the discount lol
They said payout won't be affected by a faulty dashcam as they make their own assessments anyway and dashcam's only provide evidence. Was told that you would have to pay the discount back though.
It stands out much more than any 2+2 coupe that I can think of less than £100k. Blooming heck, it might actually be one of the most standout vehicles in £150k especially when you look at the Merc S coupe price etc
Its quite difficult really because he could say he was just doing his job and its not his fault that a stone decided to project out of the lawnmower.
"Act of God" or the newer term "outside of human control" might apply.
It is fitted as standard. You just have to enable it. Dealer will do it for free providing you know that its not their responsibility if you manage to flood the car in the rain
