  1. The review I posted above, he did actually say the 300h has more useable low down power but feels less dynamic due to extra weight than the 350. However, I agree that a more powerful unit would be welcome. I really do think an ES-F will be on the cards with AWD
  2. The ES completely belittled GS sales though so I don't think the point was to make something that was better than the GS. Comfort is the strong point of the ES and so was value. Now we have a vehicle which is supposed to blend those together with a reasonably well handling and good looking vehicle. Im pretty sure the ES will be priced lower than the GS was and very close to the IS tbh
  3. Yet, when we look at the figures, barely anyone bought them. Like seriously, on the forum I haven't seen a single facelifted GS yet which isn't a GS-F! On a side note -
  4. Only watched the video to hear the noise. Bloody quiet RC-F you have, its like a tomb....
  5. Yep, most of them seem to be in Sport + spec but I did get to drive a base one. Preferred it as well! The ride is better on the base, the glass roof lets in a good amount of light and whilst the 4 wheel steer is entertaining, its a little bit unnatural. The wheels on the base LC look much better to my eyes as well in terms of design and size as I think the Sport+ chrome wheels look too big!
  6. Maybe, but I dont think the "feel" plays a huge role when you're pootling around in an IS300h. Maybe if you're impersonating a lunatic BMW driver..... But yes, I seriously doubt it'll be removed. The IS is a strong seller. If the IS goes, I don't see any reason to have an RC, LS or LC in the lineup!
  7. Honestly though, why is it taking you so long? I can get the RX done in less than 15 minutes including the seats, carpet mats, floors and in the nooks and crannies!
  8. GS has been removed from European lineup. It is still going in the States. I don't get the whole RWD obsession, most people certainly dont utilise the capabilities of RWD in everyday driving and from initial reviews, the ES seems to handle well with torque steer only present on the 350 when flooring from a standstill, so the 300h will likely not suffer from this. The IS is RWD, the RX is essentially FWD. Do i enjoy driving the IS more than the RX? Not really. Additionally, dont think the IS will be at risk. Its a good seller both in the states and in europe.
  9. Are you sure its saying take the next left and showing right? In some instances, especially in cities, the spoken directions usually say keep left, then, 250 yards later, take the next right.
  10. I doubt it. Young executive twirps still tend to flock to Audi and BMW. Although more recently Ive noticed the standard of Merc drivers become ridiculously crap as well.
  11. With regard to the mouse to control the infotainment, the sensitivity can be adjusted to make it easier to use. Additionally, its something that you have to get used to over time. Its not a case of just getting in and using it once. It requires a bit of practice. All Lexus vehicles post 2012 now use the remote touch interface, either through the physical mouse or a touchpad. The only exception are vehicles without premium navigation which use a rotary controller. I believe privacy glass wasn't an option on the GS or fitted as standard. LED headlights weren't available on the pre-facelift GS. They became standard across the range when the facelift came out, either in single LED or Triple-LED format depending on trim level. I know that HUD was available in the States, but I dont think it was available in the UK on the GS bar the GS-F and on the Facelift GS Premier Not too sure on the headrest. I would assume you don't have the seat adjusted correctly. Again, in most cars, this is usually something that takes time to figure out
  12. Now you're just being the big child that you are. Do you want a dummy to suck on whilst you're grieving for the GS? Not that you'd buy one anyway because you seem to have an obsession with the IS250... If you want to judge on objective facts, go and speak to Autoexpress or autocar. I'm sure they'd love to have you as a reviewer. The reason most of us are on this forum and driving a Lexus is purely subjective. I didn't choose a 3 series over the IS because it's 1s faster to 60mph. Others on the forum didn't choose an M3 because it's faster than an RCF. Facts exist but nobody really cares. People who buy cars based on facts generally don't know anything about cars and simply use it as a mode of transport. It's all about the subjective feeling and if you don't think that applies please feel free to go over to the BMW forum and leave us misely lexus owners in peace
  13. Fair enough. Either way I think a good bumper off respray is in order. Shouldn't be too expensive but will certainly lift the car
  14. The risk of anything going wrong with a Lexus is very slim, especially in a car so new. Being that Lexus has a great track record of reliability, it seems somewhat odd to get an extended warranty on these. Fair enough on something German but in my experience, and especially with the Lexus vehicles I have had over the years, I dont think its worth it as you would A) break even or B) spend more money than you need to. Over 5 years, I would probably consider a warranty, but certainly not after 3.
  15. Not worth it IMO. Ours is 5 years old in 3 months and no issues at all
  16. Linas, once again you're being stupid. Whether a car does 0-60 in 6.1s or 8.9s, it doesn't really matter. Most buyers, especially in the luxo-barge segment really couldn't care less - hence why they're full of 520d's. You keep banging on about tax incentives and what not - thats true to an extent, but again you don't seem to understand that some companies limit the value of the cars as well and only give limited options. A 530e costs nearly £50k! Most things about cars are subjective. The main reason for the huge sales of BMW and Merc are 70% down to perceived brand image. The performance is subjective. Most buyers are happy with 0-60 in 9s. Look at the A180d - uses a renault engine and managed to take a huge chunk of A-class sales simply down to the perceived brand image. It certainly didn't have the quality or performance to match even a basic Golf. After all, it did 60mph in 10+ seconds. On top of that, Ive not actually seen Lexus say "we're aiming for the 5er or E-class". In the states, its going to be priced at C-class and 3 series level. From what I can tell, Lexus knows they don't need a big RWD saloon in the UK as the SUVs are going to take over anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if they remove the RC later as well.
  17. Just looks like a bit too much orange peel on the bumper for a Lexus but mat be thats because it's been zoomed in. Fair enough on German cars but Lexus historically have very little orange peel
  18. I use my Lexus dealers to get it done for me. They outsource anyway but charged £82 inc VAT up to 18" and £100 above that
  19. Unlikely. Sales would be dismal, both in the states and in Europe for that model. I think an AWD is on the cards, and an ES-F with AWD would be quite interesting. There's no other reason for that hump in the rear floor
  20. Good man! The Mesa Red is a fantastic colour - very popular in the states, not here so much but the gold flakes in it are great!
  21. The Viofo A129 has recently come out and it's a dual channel camera. Don't see why you'd need GPS or speed camera alerts? The GPS can be used against you to work out speeds very accurately and if you're driving even 3-4mph over the speed limit according to the speedo it shouldn't matter anyway.
  22. They're supposed to be changed at every full Lexus service but rarely are. Just put a new one in. Very easy to do. All the details are in the manual, or better yet just use youtube
  23. Yep. The Motoman one is good too, extremely in depth and spans over 3 videos. The driving bit is good aswell. Says the handling is pretty neutral with barely any torque steer on the 350 unless flooring from a standstill. I would imagine the ES 300H would be just fine.
