I usually go in to get my tyres fitted. They only charged me £10 + vat each!! Very happy and never had scratched wheels at Lexus before either

IS300h Service Intervals & a Dilemma!
rayaans replied to rayaans's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Yep 5 years or older qualifies for Essential Care servicing which seems to be exactly the same as the full price Lexus service anyway -
He's got himself a fancy 3RX Advance! So yes 3rd gen but auto locking was removed in 2014 RXs. Something to do with doors staying locked so if there was a collision nobody could get in to help. It's been modified on the 4RX so it opens in a collision and therefore has made a comeback I thought the DAB sound quality was poor in comparison to FM so didn't use it much. Still don't in the 4RX either. Agreed with auto wipers. Theyre the same in 3RX and 4RX. Stalk is put to 2nd position and sensitivity adjusted using the wheel. However, on the 3RX I found that they wouldn't wipe if there was standing water on the windscreen so needed doing manually for 1 wipe and then put back. The 4RX ones do as do the IS ones. With regard to cruise control I think OP meant it maintains speed better rather than speeding up too much on downhills. Ive never used it in the GS but in the IS it will speed up more than in the RX.

New Tyres for NX300h F Sport
rayaans replied to Ankit24's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Cross climates are 3PMSF rated -
I never had a problem with the sat nav in the 2018 Lexus models however some people have and some people hate the system. Additionally, what is the connected services is average the traffic updates are often poor and outdated. The Lexus vehicles do come with mirror link however this is quite difficult in some cases to set up and isn't perfect I would recommend you play with the system when going on a test drive and cover the main things you're looking for

Very interesting. My 2012 F Sport actually had the locking function which was subsequently removed. Additionally, I thought there was a way to turn the EV green indicator on in the settings. Also worth nothing that on the 3RX, whilst individual tyre pressures are given, they don't necessarily correspond to any given tyre so if you have low pressure, usually you have to check all 4

Thats been on for weeks Its the mileage. Almost done 5 years worth of miles in 3 years especially when you consider its only £2k less than one at a Lexus dealer with half those miles and TVD
-
An update - Bodyshop has quoted £1400 for the work and roughly 3-5 day job.
-
Not anymore after this week's good times....
-
Few different methods all of which work. Autosol or similar metal polish, wire wool and wd40, even brillo pad and brake cleaner.
-
Yep, dont worry I know the insurance price this November will most likely go up but I cant do anything regarding that. Just an update really then. Been to Lexus Bradford. They've taken photos of the damage and sent it to their bodyshop who will send the quote directly to my email address. I got in touch with Admiral Law today who said its probably best to go through third party's insurance. Phone them up and give them details of the damage meaning it wont cost me my excess and Ill still get a courtesy vehicle (although its not really needed atm)
-
Havent had any calls at all so I guess GDPR is good for something Im taking the car today to Lexus Bradford for a quote. Will update in due course
-
Yep I'll give them a call today and say that I'm not paying it as it's not my fault. Other option is to get admiral to cough up the name of the other party's insurance company and approach them instead dropping in that Auxillis have offered to help 😂
-
Exactly that's what I would have thought. But apparently admiral want the excess up front and then liability will be decided even though other party has admitted it. Then I'll get the excess back from the other insurance company if deemed not at fault.
-
Right. Im not liking the idea of Auxillis. I especially don't like that it's a separate contract and they could try to charge me! Unfortunately that does mean we will lose our £450 excess. We don't have motor legal which Admiral kindly explained so I don't doubt Admiral Law will phone us tomorrow to take it out, which might actually be worthwhile depending on cost/worthiness. NCD is protected which allows 2 claims in 3 years. The previous claim was in Nov 2015 so that should be OK too.
-
Wait a minute, so can I deal with Admiral direct rather than dealing with Auxillis? My no claims bonus is protected so thats not an issue. I assumed that Auxillis were under Admiral, not a separate entity..... Problem is, I dont know who the third party insurer is because the van was a rental and neither did the driver
-
Did you end up going with a Lexus approved bodyshop though? Admiral don't have any. Been told that there is Master Cars bodyshop in Leeds but I have never seen their work or anything, whereas when the front end of the IS was damaged, Lexus Bradford sent it to their approved bodyshop in Bolton and it came back pristine! Should have done mind as they replaced the bumper and fender.
-
Insurance is a farce. They're saying I have to pay £450 excess, get the car repaired and Auxillis (Admiral's non-fault claim service) will recover costs from the other party along with the excess. Im still in the process of figuring out whether my excess gets returned to me or not..... and it appears nobody can give me an answer

Wife was parked outside her fathers house. Van was going up the street, a bus was oncoming. Van reverses to give way to the bus and takes a chunk out of the IS. The guy knocked on the door of my FILs house. On closer inspection - bumper scratched, wheel scratched, outer light unit scratched, fender is bent and scratched a little bit too. Luckily the plastics at lower side made it without issues. Told insurance and they say something about paying £450 excess, taking it to my repairer and claiming excess back or something like that

Would think the T cut is too harsh for lexus paint
-
-
Can get a smoother finish with less orange peel and its easier to correct. Start getting swirls on hard paint and you have to pull out the heavy cutting compounds to sort it out. Lexus paint polishes up very well with a fine polish meaning you don't have to remove loads of the clear coat.
-
@J Henderson is right. Our IS is an F Sport. It has better ride quality than the 3rd Gen RX F Sport and is marginally poorer than my 4RX F Sport. Having said that, all cars are smoother than their German counterparts with Sport packages of the same years. The loaner CT I usually get is the Advance or Sport specification and the ride is bad enough on them in comparison

IS300h Service Intervals & a Dilemma!
rayaans replied to rayaans's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Yep should only be 1 month I think as the first ones were registered in July 2013. Ours is registered beginning of September but I've been getting it serviced on the last week of August to avoid having to do it when school starts as it's the wife's car -
The ride on the IS300h F Sport is better than any trim of CT with any size wheels. I get at least one every year when both cars are serviced and I hate getting into it tbh
